I have 2014 850XP. Originals are 26", I've been thinking 28"s, does it require any changes to clutch/drivetrain? Normal riding and working, no full-throttle swamp smashing
The 850 is a sport utility. You should consider using the stock tires for break in procedure they are light weight. After that, the aftermarket tires are much heavier if you're considering a light tire I think the bighorn makes a light version. The heavy tires take away from overall sport performance.
Good deal. Taller tire may affect your clutch operation epi makes different clutch weights in a kit (3 weights) easy to install to offset the larger tire diameter, therefore the larger tire that will offset the primary clutch will be compensated with the weight kit and performance will remain similar to OEM.
One thing I did on my scrambler 1000 and the 850 install uni filter . The redesign and placement of the airbox has a known problem with filter alignment and the stock prefilter interfering with the filter mating to the intake causing dust blow by. I noticed this on my 850 after reading on different brand air filters to decide from. The uninfoam filter is larger and also has foam around this problem area eliminating the intake /filter seal problem.
Another problem I had with the 850 is the clutch bearing failed due to excessive dust exposure. Another polaris primary msrp is 600.00 and warranty is usually not covered is damaged from dirt. I noticed with the 850 redesign they moved the clutch venting between the rear tires. Makes no sense to me but I ordered a piece of foam I may think about placing the foam around the vent located near the rear tires. This is a dust haven area. not wanting the new clutch to fail.
Love the “letterKenny” intro!😋
I have the same stock tires on my 19 sportsman 850 and they hook in absolutely everything
i’m getting one should i keep the stock tires?
I've switched over to 30x9x14 cryptids and I just use the stocks for plowing and ice fishing
@@Hunglikeagrimsmo where they good to you while had them
@@Hunglikeagrimsmo i’m using them for light mud so i don’t think i’ll need mudding tires
They were amazing I just wanted something bigger.

I didn't do anything to clutch/driveline, its been two years and no problems.
This video really helped me. I just bought a 2018 1000. The stock tires are way too small. How tall do those Zilla’s measure out to?
They aren't the true 28, its about 27 1/2.
What kind of tires are they?
They are Maxxis Zillas
How do the Zillas do in the sand?
Very well. We have a lot of sand in our area. Check out some of riding videos like " hill climbing" and see.
No problems so far. I hear the steering stem has sqeeking problems
That is true cuz mine is sqeeking and I take really good care of mine and that the only down side of it

That is a good point. I didn't find the zillas to be much heavier, but they are taller.

He doesn’t need a clutch kit for these tires..... they’re not that big/heavy. As far as break in goes, drive it like you stole it.
Change the tires l would change to a Honda
i would keep polaris over a new honda.
He prolly likes having the power of a crotch rocket why would he down grade to a lawn mower?
Lol I have a Honda it's broken intnhe garage ATM. And has same motor my cake mixer got lol
