- Figured this was an appropriate way to introduce Miu! She was a mood board character I created back in Feb/March and, after listening to this song for years, I feel it really fits her!

The song, even without the context of the character, gives me the vibe of “sexy, attractive, captivating… you should probably tread with caution.”
Same thing with the character, she’s adorable, her clothes give her this cute, designer look, like she’s intentionally trying to be eye catching to people who don’t know her, and that immediately sets off a tiny alarm bell in my head.
Basically, you’ve done a bang-up job creating a character with a hidden agenda.
Those hypnotic patterns in her skin is something that cuttlefish do in order to confuse their prey before eating them. Your instincts were right

The way you managed to use the color shifting of these kinds of animals in the animation is completely astounding to me. I originally liked it because "sexy squid lady" but after look at it technically I'm blown away even more. Fanart of her from me is almost an inevitability at this point.

1:00 That was really cool attention to detail with the eyes moving slightly (along with her head) as the camera pulls away. It's little things like that that really make an animation stand out and not feel as generic. It feels like she is alive. Good work.
Oh yiss! I am a sucker for things like this and Beautysnake did that with the Pyrrho animation as well, like when she is dancing in loop but lowers her torso 45 degrees while in sync with the looped dancing animation. Gets me every time.
I really love the touch of having her do the cuttlefish prey hypnosis color pattern at the "show me that I'm your fantasy" part.

I love the detail toward the loop at the end where the background colours flash on the back of her figure, and how the Colors change with the background, that must have been either tedious or difficult and the animation is even cooler because of it

I hope it isn’t a bother or rude to ask this, but I was wondering are you self taught or did you go to college to learn animation? Or are you a mix of both? I’m mainly asking because I actually am in my senior year of high school and I’m wanting to go to college for animation, but I’m really stuck on where to go, so I wanted to ask if you had any suggestions since you are just so amazingly skilled at animating!
Idk how to define myself but I was animating before I went to college for it. Art school is something you should really weigh the pros and cons of before making a decision--art is like a trade and you can learn it without being taught, but there are benefits to going to art school like peer review and resources/networking. Depending on where you live it'll cost a pretty penny so it's worth figuring out what you feel you need to learn before you determine if art school can help you learn that. This sort of stuff is very subjective but I hope this at least helped somewhat.

Sometimes I do a lot as a stim is mimicking movements that my brain finds pleasing. This animation is for sure one of them.
I repeatedly find myself watching this video because it's so mesmerizing. Then at the end when Miu does the head bobbing loop, i do the same movement. Her eyes are also very captivating, it's almost like encouraging of "Yeah, let's keep dancing!"

I just realised the background pattern mimics the way cuttlefish actually change colours. Just a bunch of different coloured dots that grow and shrink to form a pattern. sorta like pixels on a screen. Nice Details man.
