Grew up on Prospect Ave. My old man retired 72 SGT in mid 90's. I always said its the character that makes a quality officer, not a uniform. These three have great character. Unfortunately, there are many that have no business working in public service, due to poor attitudes, and lack of professionalism. If NYPD improved pre-hire character assessment, it would greatly improve community relations.

I’m a Cop in California, and I must say these are some of the most well put together NYPD cops I’ve ever seen. Most NYPD cops I’ve seen have jacked up uniform appearance and look sloppy. These guys are great! Very sharp!

This is a great vlog. You guys seem like not only seem like great officers, but as great people as well. I have worked in private security. I never wanted to become a cop, but I have seen how when security guards know their function and don't try to be cops and get great information that both police and security make a great team. I am actually in the process of starting my own company, but I digress. In the industry, I have gotten to meet some great cops who were original transit and original housing (before the merger) (and also probably before we were thoughts on our parent's minds) and they have some great stories from when they were on the job.

It is certainly different from the late 70 s / 80 s and I notice you guys do not wear your caps. In the plastic sleeve of my hat I had a picture of my mother and father , a picture of St. Michael the Arch angel who is also the patron Saint of the NYPD and a palm cross. Vests were optional and our ultility belt was much lighter . Housing Police and Transit Police only wore a patch on the left arm to signify Police Authority while NYPD wore the patch on the right arm which meant Department . God bless you all , NYPD strong .

Loved my work from the day I began. Though I was almost 50. And wrnt into policing at The School saftey devision it was a very rewarding period of my life. Many stories and moments you will never forget. To know you go to work everyday with pride knowlege and care for all you come accross is so rewarding. You be safe out thier Brothers and Sisters. God Bless all of you.
