playin this song and were an 7th and 8th grade band. our bells and timpani players on this song are ridiculous. it sounds incredible. unfortunetely i am one of only two tenors, and we have no french horns. :(
With this song i imagine a story... Once in the depths of the infinite universe the planet was great and the stars all bowed to the greatness of this third planet, the astroids danced along the sides of the planet as its turquoise rings were being formed. But then little magma astroids started bouncing along destroying things in its path, but then a LARGE astroid the size of Jupiter started heading towards the planet with all of its magma burning through its core, and the suspence music played in as we did not know which would be greater, the planet or the magma astroid, and as the astroid aproached the 3rd planet JUST CENTEMETERS AWAY... everything was at a pause... but time played again and the 3rd planet absorbed the astroid and became even stronger of a 3rd planet. And so the 3rd planet continues to form its greatness and develops to be the strongest planet. ~By Ivy A. Rodriguez (PS: im also playing this song at my winter concert on December 10th 2015) :-P
When the saxes and flutes go back and forth? I love that part too :] You're right, saxes are soo pretty there... We are gonna rock the house with this piece, woot!! :D
OMG i remember this song I played it my sophomore year now im a junior love the band and go bass clarinet ! My fav part is where like One section plays then the next come in i forgot the measure number :-)
At 0:41 the saxophones sound soooo beautiful. I play Baritone Saxophone in my jr. high Concert band. We........well read WolvesSweetSerenade's comment. She's in my band. :)
@MidnightShadow19 We're marching it. It's the opener, and it's really hard to count, march, and play for sure. I can count it, march it, or play it. I can't do all of that though. Not yet. First year in HS. Our closer is even harder :/
This is my favorite song in my next concert; I've got 1st trumpet and it's a pretty cool piece. School just started and we're already doing awesome on it, I can't wait 'til our concert in October because this piece is going to be AMAZING. :] My favorite part of the song is definitely: 1:22 to 1:57 it gives me shivers :D
God i suck at this.... Its rally hard for me on the Alto Sax and our school concert band is lacking quite a lot of instruments.. But i love this song :D
doesn't sound that too hard to me but that's because I played first in this song for the trumpet it was quite easy at first except when we had to accent our notes and stay fortisismo, but thats just in my opinon.
I love this song. I played this in grade 9 in the school symphony band.
I'm in university now, and I still love this.
Same I’m in my late 20s still love it lol
This was our third song in our marching band show in my junior year. It was a beast to count, march, and play at the same time.
Fluters are da bomb!!! I love this song. It's so epic.
