My 2015 Silverado had the same problem last year. Disconnected and cleaned all the connectors on module and reassembled them with dielectric grease. Problem solved.

Here is part 3 of this series. I had difficulty with two high end scan tools not communicating with the trailer brake controller, (Snap-On and Autel). PM me at phils@tbaytel.net and I'll see if I can generate a network diagram and send it to you.
Same solution above is used for brake control system error message. Thanks for this hopefully it solves my check trailer wiring error next time I tow. Maddening because it’s intermittent.

when that happens I just squeeze the brake test slider and it goes away. 2016 chevrolet pickup. I have not had that alarm in many moons.
