I was just there really really amazing place. Took my dad there who's a world war II enthusiast and he absolutely loved it. I highly suggest going

While the pristine, manicured park full of well-taken-care-of vehicles (including the only extant T26E4) and the professional dioramas of the First Division Museum were definitely impressive, I was absolutely taken aback by the sheer volume and randomness of the vehicles and aircraft displayed at the Russell Museum. I consider myself decently well-traveled when it comes to military vehicle collections and museums, but in the Russell Museum's back lot I encountered at least ten types of armored or fighting vehicles that I had never seen in person. Thanks for meeting up!

Do I have a story to tell you guys so the story starts off in spring of 2019 and I was on a family trip to Chicago and we just passes the state line between Wisconsin and Illinois and I was looking out the window and turned around and looked back to see a tank looking at me I then looked in to the museum it sounds cool

I have lived in this part of Wisconsin my entire life and have seen this from the highway. Never bothered to go. Used to be a large russian helicopter by 41 back in the 90s.

@@thetanksofworldwarii-tanka4368 Agreed. The Iowa Gold Star Military Museum in Johnston, Iowa near Des Moines at Camp Doge has some rare Soviet Armor such as a Russian T-55 Medium Tank that looks like it's been through hell. There's still a lot of dents on the armor as well as a lot of missing paint and scratches when that tank was use by Iraq. I'm actually glad I got touch and even climb on and get my picture taken (By my Dad) on top of a famous Tank design such it the T-55 which is one of my favorite Soviet Tank designs. The Owners at the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum told me that people of all ages (Children and Adults) ARE indeed allowed to climb on top of the Tanks and vehicle displayed outside the museum, but NOT inside the Museum itself. All Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times especially when climbing on and off the Tanks and vehicles from what the owners told me, just in case.
