    I’m really waiting for a video where someone gets the sounds dialled in. Haven’t heard one yet!

  • @alexyoung5798

    Ludwig is the only one that sounded halfway decent but the volume levels are all way off and the threshold of the kick really needs some tweaking

      Hopefully future updates will address that so that players don’t have to dive into the settings just to get a good sound.

    The toms desperately need more articulations (round robins) per velocity layer. Also, I would EQ all the shells, imo they'd benefit a lot from a little tweaking. (mainly rising a bit (or a lot) of high-shelf.)
    Could you possibly do a demo on the Inst Tones page? Is there EQ (and compression) on the individual pads somewhere? If yes, are they for the pads only, or each the individual layers and zones of a single pad as well? (I doubt it, but who knows at this point) Thanks for these videos btw

      We're going to do more videos once the final firmware update is sent to us before the street date in June and really do some deep dive videos into the EQ, pad settings, cymbal settings, and more.

    Great demo, but also disappointed by the sound. 2024 level should sound close to superior drummer or getgood drums. They lack character, mainly present in a good room sound. They mostly sound plastic. Thanks for the video!

    I don't like the cymbals. Even though they are real cymbals, they are still only triggers. I liked the Gen16 cymbal kits better, because they use pickups rather than triggers. They should revamp the whole Gen16 pickup concept. These triggers just sound too much like, well electronic cymbals. The attack is the same with every strike. With the Gen16, you had more control over the dynamics of how each strike sounded. I still own a set of Gen16 cymbals along with the modules. I hate they discontinued it.

      Even the cymbals are awful, and I’m a Zildjian player…got over 50 of them. You’d think a company renowned for its cymbals would at least get them right…sigh…If Alchemy is the ancient “science” that attempted to transmute base metals into gold…then, ummm, major fail Zildjian. These cymbals don’t even sound like bronze!

    Thanks for the videos.
    But so far, not really impressed…
    Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, just…
    I don’t like what I hear.
    The cymbals are really great, the kit on the other hand sounds like a cheap entry level edrum.

      That's the point of making these videos: to educate and share what the instrument sounds like. It's not rude to say that you're not impressed with the sounds of the kits. Comments and suggestions are the only way to help Zildjian build a better product.

      It seems to me your trigger setting on the cymbals have the sensitivity much too high limiting the dynamics especially the crash2 to your right. If you dial it down does it play better? That crash is annoyingly graining on the ears after a few hits.

    • @tarpley-music
      @tarpley-music  2 месяца назад +1

      @482jpsquared We didn’t adjust any trigger settings for this video, so this is its performance out of the box. I’m sure Zildjian will refine the sensitivities with future updates. It’s possible that if the player spent some time in the settings, they could get it to respond better.

      @@tarpley-music it seemed the ride, especially the bell, miss-triggered a LOT

    • @tarpley-music
      @tarpley-music  2 месяца назад

      @@KenWoLf31 It did. With a bit of time spent in the module you could adjust the zone sensitivities to suit your play-style. This was after a factory reset, so nothing was adjusted for this video.
