I’ve been on the receiving end to something similar to what that guy said in the 4th story to the woman. I’m a woman, I’m 5’4” and 130lbs so I’m pretty small. But I work alone as a storage facility manager. One day this potential tenant (a heavy set and tall man, easily double my weight, and probably a foot taller) came in and wanted to look at some units. In order to do that, I would need to go with him, alone to a unit inside a steel and concrete building that is usually devoid of people. I had been doing my job for about 5yrs at that point, it’s in a safe, low crime area, and I’ve never ever had a bad experience with anyone. I got complacent basically. So without missing a beat I agreed to show him a unit. As I’m walking in front of him showing him talking about his options to rent, when he hits me with “do you ever get worried about being alone with men you don’t know? What if someone were to throw you into a unit, close the door and took advantage of you?” I got a chill down my spine and mustered up everything I could to not show I was terrified by what he said. So I said “oh I’m not alone. The maintenance guy is working today (lie). Also I’m a veteran (true) and I think I can protect myself if it came down to it.” He just gave me a kind of vacant stare and said “oh… that’s good” and I finished up the tour as quickly as possible. Man left without renting, and I never saw him again. After that though I became a lot more cautious and started making people give me their ID to put in the cash drawer in the office if I was going to show them around, and I carried pepper spray. If they tried anything, their ID would be there and I could give them a good spray in the face to run. I’ve been doing this job for 10yrs now and thankfully I’ve never had any issues to need that. Still creeps me out sometimes to think about what he said to me though. That story reminded me a lot of what was said to me and I can relate to how terrified that woman must have been.
You handled yourself beautifully in the moment. As a girl dad I hope my daughter has your cool under pressure mentality if faced with such a terrifying experience. I’ll protect her every way I can, every moment I’m able, but in the end we’re all left to fend for ourselves at some point and need to be prepared accordingly. Hats off to you.
@@JME1186 thank you. Being a veteran and my MOS was being an MP I just told myself to think of my training to keep calm, to not show my fear, and try to make him think it would be a bad idea to try anything. I’m really relieved it worked. It taught me a valuable lesson though and I’m much more careful at work since. But you’re absolutely right about being left to fend for ourselves eventually. Just hope she takes to heart and remembers the things you taught her. One thing my dad taught me too was if I ever had a suspicion someone was following me home, to not go home but instead go to a police department. And I actually ended up needing to do that one time when I went grocery shopping alone. For a moment I thought about trying to lose him and go home, but remembered what my dad taught me and I went straight to the police department and parked in front of the door. The person following me, stopped just before the driveway to the police dept parking lot, and sat there for a solid 10mins while I stayed put. I think they were waiting for me to give up and leave so they could keep following me. But since I obviously caught onto them, and they were waisting their time with me, they gave up first and I assume they we’re pretty pissed about it because they peeled out and drove away. I sat in that parking lot for an additional 20 more minutes just so I could make sure they’d be gone and I could get home safely. The safety advice dads give their daughters can definitely come in handy and we do remember it. I certainly did and was really thankful for that.
Second story about Lynda, I wish I had someone that would've done that for me with my first husband. He put me in hospital twice and was the cause for a miscarriage. In my eyes your a hero.

The OP that got Linda out of that abusive marriage is not "that guy." I do not condone what the OP did at all but I can't call him anything but a good man for letting that dark side out one last time for the traumatized child inside him as well as Linda. I'm glad it all worked out for him and his wife.
Genuinely feel bad for everyone in that first story. Kid was a an asshole for sure but like OP said it was probably due to abuse/neglect from his own parents. And now he’s permanently blind. I’ve been severely bullied growing up myself but I’ve also grown up with abusive parents, and I can understand why OP doesn’t feel proud of what they did. I just wish kids had better parents.
He might well have been bullied growing up but that doesn't change the fact that asshat was going out of his way to ruin other people's lives. I have known kids like that. It isn't fair that they suffer the way they do but then it doesn't change how they in turn hurt others. Could try harder to become more than what they were, be better than their abusers. But instead, they drag everyone else down to their level. People they can torment. They become the scum that brutalized them.
Yeah he got served a lesson. Sucks he lost some vision but kids like Ronny become abusers , and a danger to society unless they're checked. Sounds harsh but life is cruel as well.
I'm torn about Rotten Ronnie. While no child deserves that pain and certainly not the permanent loss of sight, I wonder what would have happened if he wasn't given such a harsh reality check. The culture on council estates is so toxic and so many abused kids like him end up continuing the cycle of abuse. I mean, making kids eat glass? Escalating that behaviour would probably have ended with Ronnie in and out of prison. Obviously it's speculation, but I've seen it so many times. Again, definitely the wrong way to go about it - a good punch would have had the same effect - but I still wonder if this saved a lot of pain for both Ronnie and the people around him in the long run.
Dear Marine, I cannot fathom what you carry on your shoulders. As a Marine Brat through and through, my heart weeps for you. This kind of story is heartbreaking. You are a casualty of a war you never signed up for. I can pretend I'll ever understand, but I am sending healing energy your way.
Story 3- The Soldier. I'll be honest I was just so relieved the "lump" under the burka was groceries. I was so sure/scared the woman was going to be pregnant and could not imagine the kind of guilt that would have come down on OP. Killing an innocent bystrander is bad enough but an expecting mother? Worse, just that much worse. I hope OP has the mental and emotional support they need even now that they're home.
Eww, killing innocent civilians is never something we should excuse. He can get therapy, but what about this young woman? Invading Afghanistan was a huge mistake.
The real bad guys in this story are the people who decided to disguise themselves as innocent civilians while fighting a dirty war. They were the ones who made every single female a suspect - and worse still: they are the ones forcing women in their country to wear those clothes to begin with! OP acted on what limited information he had and was convinced he had to do this in order to save more lives. He is every bit as much a victim as the woman he unintentionally shot. In general, I am convinced the most terrible people are the ones who disguise themselves. Soldiers in false-flag operations, army leaders using civilian buildings as a front for their operations and possibly civilians as human shields, the serial killer by night who is a model citizen by day, the business man who pays others to perform his criminal jobs while keeping plausible deniability, etc. If someone is clear about their intentions, they may still be scumbags, but at least they deserve just an inkling of respect for not pretending otherwise.

Thank you for this episode of Lets Read Joel, one of my favorites. Makes you feel good hearing stories of good triumphing evil. Felt awful for the bloke in the Marines but i think many of us can understand how it happened with the details that were included
For the 1st story, I don't blame OP for what she did. Ronnie was a bully who bullied everyone around him. Yes, he probably had a terrible upbringing, not so great parents. He was more than a bully though, he was a sociopath. Nothing could stop him. There was always going to be someone who would get back at him. If it hadn't been OP it would have been someone else and it probably would have been worse, like murdering him. What OP did was harsh but it could have been much worse and OP's friend could have gotten really sick or died from what the bully did. So, I think he got what he deserved. This is also coming from someone who was also bullied and was never able to get revenge on her bullies.
Something I wonder too is, would he have escalated to assaulting the girls around the council estate at some point, and physically harming others even more seriously.
@imbored1179 he didn't just bully, HE LITERALLY FORCED DOG SH*T UP SOMEBODY MOUTH ND ENJOYED IT. Foh, I was bullied too but I fought back everytime cus f*k tht.
What? Are you insane? The kid was blinded... You revealed yourself at the end of your comment when you said you were bullied and never got revenge. You only think the girl was justified in her actions, because you got picked on too. Revenge is not blinding a child. Revenge is getting a great job, finding love, getting married, and raising beautiful children of your own. Revenge is leading a happy, successful life in spite of your bully.
Woah! These are the best ones yet. Only listened to the first 2 so far, but heroes do exist. I think the first story may have saved others from harm.. the rock may have been the safer option after all lol
My youngest and I have celiacs. Because of it it took a while for us to realize why Day youngest wasn't growing. She was so small she wasn't even on the charts, and would hardly eat anything. If your kid isn't growing and refusing to eat I highly recommend getting an allergy test. After a month of being gluten free she rose to the third percentile and suddenly started eating a lot of food
THANK YOU! this video was very very informative and eye opening for me on how im living my life right now on how im thinking of doing some things that if I do go threw with them that will be going over the edge and there's no coming back from it and will take me down a dark one way path with no return killing all my goals and dreams in life things that i will never speak of and will take to my grave unless caught and exposed these feelings im feeling are really chilling because its so hard to tell myself no stop it when a part of me really wants to go threw with it because my brain is telling me we are going to have large amounts of good feelings and satisfaction a part of me is already living that life mentally when things come across my eyes my brain goes numb and bullet proof and it starts to play scenarios out on its own without my permission because it knows I enjoy it like a drug addiction it knows it can dig its hooks deep in me and I won't even budge or try to take them out and break free from them even tho a part of me knows its wrong and ill probably be disgusted with myself it knows im addicted to them like a druggie is addicted to drugs and can take control of me whenever it wants with a blink of an eye and in the mean time im just here living my life playing on the edge thinking i will never fall and go over because that's not the type of person that I am i wasn't raised like that but yet im still here on the edge waiting for it to get stronger to see who's stronger or if one day im going to fall weak to my knees and give up and let it push me all the way over because I stayed curious even tho I understand that old saying we all know curiosity killed the cat........ Well yall have a good day neighbor's!😶
I lost faith in humanity in general, don't care who dies who lives, child, women, men, leftists, rightists. But that second story... I wish them a happy life and if by chance he reads this, know this, you cheered up a "don't give a damn anymore" guy. A sad lonely, deeply depressed guy, who just wanted normalcy to return. You, my man, brought back a little of it. You're on my list of people I don't wish to be harmed. Never tell her, some things better be buried and stay buried. She may as well know deep down, but won't force you, because you stayed true to your word and provided her with the best she could ever dream of - true love. I also love romances with good endings, I never even had a woman, such is my fate, thanks to an unknown skin illness that makes my face look sometimes awful sometimes less. I cannot even socialize.
Ngl hearing "I grew up on a councel estate in the North East of England" took me by suprise, as that is exactly how I grew up, just haven't gotten the chance to move out of it yet though
@RoseBud76 They're basically houses build or bought out by the local council in low income areas. Their build quality are often questionable at best, for example the house I live in is made of stone, the electric wiring doesn't work in certain rooms and there was no indoor bathroom until the council bought the house about 50 or 60 years ago. Council estates also tent to be quite rough or even dangerous areas. I've seen armed police raid houses a couple times, had a neighbour blast music until 5 in the morning amoung other things
Jeez that 3rd story. I really hope that you’re doing okay. I send you and her family healing and peaceful energy. You’re not to blame, any of us would do the same under that kind stress and fear for your life. That’s why war is so atrocious, itnoot only kills so many people, but it seriously damages those that survive it. I’m sorry, you’re guilt is your consequence, you won’t have to suffer anything further. You’ll be able to cope, forgive yourself and find peace. Love yourself. Forgive yourself. Blessed be.
No sympathy for Ronnie whatsoever. The only thing that would have made his just desserts even sweeter and more well deserved would be if he had been told why it was happening to him. 100% his own fault, regardless of the condition he was left in afterward.
Mean little boys put rocks in ice balls & threw them at my great grandmother , when she was a young girl. They hit her in the face & permanently & partially blinded her in one eye & damaged the other. As she got older , she went permanantly & completely blind. I moved in with her, so she could remain independent , for another few years.
I feel sorry for any kid, including "Ronnie", who was ab---sed by their parents in their own home, but that does not justify bullying one's peers. Placing your entire body weight on a smaller and weaker person, to the point they are incapacitated, and shoving animal feces in their mouth is beyond vile. Well, now that fella knows what it's like to have his self-worth completely and utterly annihilated. The individual who confessed to administering her revenge chemical cocktail to the guy should not feel the least bit of guilt, if you ask me.
STORY #2 --- It would've been effed-up if the guy he beat up would have turned out to be Linda's visiting brother, nephew, or male cousin (because it sure didn't say that the guy knew what Linda's boyfriend looked like before going over to her house to pound him).
Story 1 with Ronnie. That guy was on the path to becoming a serial killer or an abuser at minimum. No one that acts the way he does and gets away with it grows up to have a good future. By acting you most likely saved a lot of people.

My youngest and I have celiacs. Because of it it took a while for us to realize why Day youngest wasn't growing. She was so small she wasn't even on the charts, and would hardly eat anything. If your kid isn't growing and refusing to eat I highly recommend getting an allergy test. After a month of being gluten free she rose to the third percentile and suddenly started eating a lot of food
boy i wonder why op in story number 4 got dumped, what a catch! /s
That second story was really satisfying ngl😂
Thank you Joel.
You know it's a good day when let's read uploads a new video!
Absolutely love these! Love from Jamaica 🇯🇲
We Appreciate you Joel, TY 💎💎
Ronnie got what he was owed
I agree 💯
I agree 100%
Damn right he did. Little bastard got exactly what was coming to him.
THANK YOU! this video was very very informative and eye opening for me on how im living my life right now on how im thinking of doing some things that if I do go threw with them that will be going over the edge and there's no coming back from it and will take me down a dark one way path with no return killing all my goals and dreams in life things that i will never speak of and will take to my grave unless caught and exposed these feelings im feeling are really chilling because its so hard to tell myself no stop it when a part of me really wants to go threw with it because my brain is telling me we are going to have large amounts of good feelings and satisfaction a part of me is already living that life mentally when things come across my eyes my brain goes numb and bullet proof and it starts to play scenarios out on its own without my permission because it knows I enjoy it like a drug addiction it knows it can dig its hooks deep in me and I won't even budge or try to take them out and break free from them even tho a part of me knows its wrong and ill probably be disgusted with myself it knows im addicted to them like a druggie is addicted to drugs and can take control of me whenever it wants with a blink of an eye and in the mean time im just here living my life playing on the edge thinking i will never fall and go over because that's not the type of person that I am i wasn't raised like that but yet im still here on the edge waiting for it to get stronger to see who's stronger or if one day im going to fall weak to my knees and give up and let it push me all the way over because I stayed curious even tho I understand that old saying we all know curiosity killed the cat........
Well yall have a good day neighbor's!😶
The last one turned my stomach
Thanks for the awesome narration. Truly heavy and sad stuff in these stories.
This is the best LetsRead clip I listened to! The stories are all so real, relatable and full of meaning.
This is totally gonna make my night! Thank you, Let's Read!!!
Happy early Halloween Joel I hope you have a great Halloween take care Joel you rock.
To all the bullies that got their come-uppance, good!!!
It is always a pleasure to receive notifications from let's read. Joel is like my relaxation pill with his awesome voice ❤
I love listening to you even when they are sad stories like these. 😢
Happy Halloween everyone
love your videos so much thank you for all your work
Right as I head to work soo perfect
Ngl hearing "I grew up on a councel estate in the North East of England" took me by suprise, as that is exactly how I grew up, just haven't gotten the chance to move out of it yet though
What is a councel estate?
@RoseBud76 They're basically houses build or bought out by the local council in low income areas. Their build quality are often questionable at best, for example the house I live in is made of stone, the electric wiring doesn't work in certain rooms and there was no indoor bathroom until the council bought the house about 50 or 60 years ago.
Council estates also tent to be quite rough or even dangerous areas. I've seen armed police raid houses a couple times, had a neighbour blast music until 5 in the morning amoung other things
Fantastic real stories ….brilliant Joel ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Loved the story about Linda though ❤️
Little demon got what was coming to him in story 1.
My favorite story episode to date. Thanks!
Thank you very much ❤❤ you rock
Happy Halloween!!!!
Are we meant to feel bad for the last guy? No wonder he got dumped, sounds like an absolute creep.
Blessed be.
I'm so thankful that the first story didn't go where I thought it was going.
These stories were fantastic !
Loved the ending of the 2nd story
One of my favorites of this year, LR. ty.
No sympathy for Ronnie whatsoever. The only thing that would have made his just desserts even sweeter and more well deserved would be if he had been told why it was happening to him. 100% his own fault, regardless of the condition he was left in afterward.
Once again perfect timing Let's Read! 👍
I love a good confession video !
right on time🖤
the second story oh my god had me on my toes. the cleaning chemicals is insaaane 😭
These were all sooooo good! That second story was just ❤
1st story. They say the part of the brain that gives us empathy is the last part to develop. Can't be too hard on the kid version of yourself.
Love your channel!
Joel, please more true confession stories! ❤
Awesome Stories 👍🏻👍🏻
thank you for posting Joel❤
Ronnie had it coming. Lesson he'll never forget
Love the video topic, thanks!
These are my favorite of your videos
“Look him in the eye”🤦🏽♂️😂knee slapper
Happy halloween everyone❤🎃🎃🎃🎃
These confession stories hit hard
I really enjoyed this one! More please
Story #2 had me sobbing 😭😭😭
Man these where so good. Keep it up Joel ❤❤❤
Happy Halloween Joel
More of these !
Need like 10 more of these!
Happy Halloween!
Wittery cant get enough of spooky joelly Polly
Wow how did I miss this one
I love this video!! I hope u make a vol.3!!!
I was super afraid that the Afghanistan story was going to be a pregnant woman.
These were SOOOO GOOD!
Always love all your stories been listening since you started your channel
STORY #2 --- It would've been effed-up if the guy he beat up would have turned out to be Linda's visiting brother, nephew, or male cousin (because it sure didn't say that the guy knew what Linda's boyfriend looked like before going over to her house to pound him).
I LOVEEEE these type of videos. thanks king Joel 💅🏼
Story 1
Love it ! Bully’s suck !!
Love story #2. Absolutely deserved.
Story 1 with Ronnie. That guy was on the path to becoming a serial killer or an abuser at minimum. No one that acts the way he does and gets away with it grows up to have a good future. By acting you most likely saved a lot of people.
Okay soooooo these r the most terrifying stories I’ve heard in a long time.
An ENGLISH dentist? The guy's a goddamn unicorn!!!!! 😂
😅
😭😂😂😂 I laughed to hard at this comment
*whistles* those were intense frfr
