I just got a mid wheel drive chair (ROVI X3) a week ago. Like you, I've always had rear drive and the turning radius is amazing! My previous chair needed 32 inches to turn, this one needs 20. I work in an office and have to turn a dozen or more times a day to get things off a shelf behind me, and my life is a whole lot easier. Elevating seat means I don't have to call for help when I need something from the top shelf. On my lunch break I can sit outside in the sun and recline with my feet up and relax. I gotta say, you look so much more secure than I do driving the mid wheel drive. It's a learning curve for sure. In winter I go to work when it's still dark and I can't wait to try the headlights in the dark. Yeah, it's a bit harder to get under tables at home but I have sat at the high tables at a local restaurant for the first time last Monday. The outdoor patio only has high tables so it was a first for me and the weather was gorgeous. My ROVI has shorter armrests so the controller (the same one as yours) is way way closer to me. I bet Permobil has shorter armrests available that would put the controller in better reach for you.
Hello Emma, I am so glad you made this video. The irony is I just purchased this exact chair about 6 weeks ago. It is life changing! Independence and freedom is the best way I can describe. You are so correct about the height of the chair for tables. I just experienced the same at my son's wedding dinner. But even so, this is the best chair!!! I hope you choice it.
Thank you so much Shelly - I really appreciate your comment. Thats amazing you purchased this chair and are already seeing the benefits it is having on your life. That's fantastic! I'm sorry you are also struggling with the seat height in certain situations. But overall I'd delighted you are loving it. :-)
I have the full option M3 in red……..love it to go shopping and driving at elevation mode…….reaching out myself for stuff with the tilting in front option……just don’t like the very long metal footrests…….know it also has a remote tv function included :-)….take care
lovely to see you, on a sunny day! It is truly fantastic you are online for so many years, giving so much of your time and energy, helping others. We are a big fan!

WOW, what an absolutely adorable young lady! And the accent makes her even more cute. We Americans are always fascinated by the British, Irish and Scotch folks when we get a chance to meet and visit. I came here looking for reviews on the M300 Permobile. I'm picking mine up tomorrow. The seat that raises is really going to help me at the grocery store. So often, I can't reach items on the upper shelves and I have to wait for a willing fellow shopper to help me out. I'm going to like this chair. I also need to raise my legs because of severe edema. Allan, please give Miss Emma a big hug and tell her it's from the United States.
Thank you for watching my review of the M3. I'm so glad you found it helpful. I hope you are enjoying your new Permobil wheelchair and that it is making a positive difference to your life while out shopping and helping with discomfort in your legs. Take care and enjoy your amazing new chair.
Brilliant review Emma, I have always wanted to try this chair out and after seeing this I might try to get a demo. Very funky-looking chair and seems practical too! I hope you and Allan are well.
The big question is how good are the batteries and the motors as in if you go high speed like they say you can go and go back to work a lot how often would you need to get your motors changed and how often will you need to get your batteries replaced because I know a lot of the chairs you would need to get your motors replaced a lot like I have with my quantity rival I had 12 on 13 motors replacements and a lot more batteries in place as well because it says high speed motors but it doesn't live up to what it says and there are chairs that does that like the boundered through 21st scientific now that chair is a outdoor indoor heavy duty wheelchair and it's for at the people
What a super review of a very ‘fancy’ chair. I am apprehensive about looking up the cost. Guess I’ll be keeping to the Quickie 200R a supplied by the Smart Centre
@@SimplyEmma , it has made a big difference in that I don’t have to really on someone pushing me about. It also makes getting the WAV a sensible move. I am still getting to grips with my mobility disappearing though
If you swivel the control to the side, you can still operate the joystick controller when you’re fully reclined or tilted. I’ve gotten my M5 in sky blue yesterday. Best chair I’ve ever ridden and sat in. I’ve got Vicair cushions btw. Stumbled upon your channel today, I’ve subscribed for more. For the seating under tables I’ve gotten a small little desk table that I can mount between the armrests.
Thank you so much for watching - we're so happy you have subscribed 😀 That's great you are loving your new M5 chair. Sky blue is a great colour. How are you getting on with it now?
You can also get control buttons to work the seat functions (like the ones on the back) mounted either between the joystick and armrest or as mine are on the other armrest. I find it way more natural to to control the seat with the buttons.
@@SimplyEmma Unfortunately not yet they only had a quantum at the rehab place. But insurance wise we are going for a permobil. I can’t wait to get it though I’m really crossing my fingers and hoping I’m doing everything right. Because insurance in the US absolutely bonkers

Thanks for getting in touch Jason. Please let me know what your think when you try it out. I'd love to know your thoughts after trying it. I agree that the mid wheel drive has problems outdoors. I've always had rear wheel drive so it was strange for me to try a mid wheel drive.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I'm getting my M3 in week or two. Someone said that the F3 has better suspension (4 shocks), but i rather chose M3 because its better maneuverability and cornering (or at least i think so).
@@SimplyEmma Hi! I love it. I haven’t been using it that much (only 17 km:s) since i can still walk at my home a bit. If i need to go to somewhere i’ll usually use it. I don’t have anything to compare it because it is my first power chair, but it feels perfect for me 👌🏻

Hello, thank you so much for your comment. I'm so glad you found the video interesting. Unfortunately, I don't think it would manage through deep, wet meadows. I think all-terrain wheelchairs would be better suited for that. Hope that helps! 🙂
@@SimplyEmmaHello and thank you for the friendly information. The video of you was shown when I was looking for Permobil. But I saw in a small moment from the film that you also drove across the flower meadow with a mobile. And it looked good.
@@Superimpi Ive used two different Permobils in Germany, the older ones c300 and c350, they do usually handle some wet grass but I wouldn't rely on it out alone far from any help somewhere. Thank you for this review, Emma. Did you get this one at the end? My husband has a middle drive and I always drive a rear-drive power wheelchair. The one thing that puts me off to switching to the middle drive is when going through a threshold, or even at the end of the ramp going up on the train, it gives a feeling like throwing you forward, which I find it little bit dangerous with the way I sit on a wheelchair. Do you have a similar experience? Both my husband and I do have that experience but for him is ok because he sits quite back on the wheelchair, leaning on the backrest, and my sitting is quite upright.
hi Jagoda. I didn't get this chair. I was just trialing it. Unfortunately, I didn't try going up a ramp on to a train, but I did drive up the ramp in to my wheelchair accessible van and it felt ok.
