Iam so happy for you. I watch your show SORRY GIRLS,and love it. Iam 74 years old and soon to be 75 July 1. I don't do too much decorating any more but that always was my way of comfort to see what a little bit a painting can do or moving my furniture around my room. When I see you girls I get so excited to see what you too can accomplished. Love , love ❤❤❤👍👍
It will be a lot of work but I also think that stripping that gorgeous door back to its wood finish and then just staining and varnishing it will give a lot of character. I used spar varnish on all the old doors and wood trim in my house and it's holding up well, even in the bathroom.
I didn’t want this episode to end. I can’t wait to see the finished project. It already looks so freaking good! & I love the wood handles & I think the tub would look amazing green. But I think maybe the black would match your aesthetic better. I love more boho but I think your vibe is so beautiful too. Very timeless. It’s beautiful. Can’t wait till you post more 😘
I love how long these episodes are because sometimes other people who make these series only show a little bit and then keep you waiting again. I love it❤️
I'm literally so invested in Kelsey's home! I'm watching every ad and clicking on them just so she can get the coin and all the nice things for her home!!!
Don't be worried about being excited, we are so excited FOR you and WITH you! I know I'm very grateful that you decided to post this season of making your house a home. A few suggestions: paint the tub a dark green that will be a good transition between the black faucets etc and the warm brown floor. What about using 'spindles'/balustrade to act as a railing for the stairs? No wall, that would make it very enclosed feeling, and the wood in the stairs is lovely. I can't believe how much space you'll have in the basement! Also, could you keep in the renovation of the upstairs? That would be good to see as well. Thanks again for posting!!
Kelsey doing painting and gardening in stunning denim dungarees and a fancy coat is the kind of bravery I wish I had. When she got paint on her beautiful dungarees I cried inside.
Architectural Designer here. I love your selections so far. Delta is killing it with their new black bath fixtures. I would do a black tub and a red front door. You could do a white or wood interior side with red outside, I think that would suite the time period of the home. Your vanity is #VintageGoals. I’d love to see more mid-century nods as your completing the rest of the design. Can’t wait to see more rooms. Thanks for letting us in on this personal process! Reminds me a lot of Bargain Mansions which I’m also addicted to. Good luck, and welcome home! 🏡💞
I have a house, that has tons of stuff to do, id appreciate having some help 🤣 specially money help lol im watching kelsey doing it n im getting enough satisfaction 🤣 but seriously i love what she is doing, my only issue is I would like to choose so many things but when I go to buy it I end up getting the cheapest option even though i dont like it as much, but things have to be done without getting too deep in debts 🥴
This is the best series so far on your channel in my opinion! You are making beautiful choices! Also, could you do a video with some advice for beginners in detail on basic things like painting walls, the drilling comment you made (so drilling in different material), prepping furniture, filling up holes, etc. kind of an 'upgrading a room 101' video!
So happy to see this in my feed - I’m kind of in love with this mini series. As a homeowner who purchased a fixer I relate so much... don’t miss those reno days tho not gonna lie lol
This is so beautiful! I love love love the wooden handles, the glas sliding door, the bathroom, the concrete floors!!! This is so dreamy. I vote for a sage green bathtub! It will warm up the space!
So excited for the renovation. This series make me happy. Another 30 minutes with a sorry girl and I'm all yours. Want to see the bathtub transformation so much.
Yaaas Kelsey the home owner! Not gonna lie, this home Reno/transformation series has been absolutely gratifying to follow and watch. Excited for the next episode, but no rush! I’ll be here when it comes. 😊
Is there a way to turn that little half wall on the end of the kitchen island into open shelving to showcase. nice serving pieces or for cook books? Love what you’ve done so far. The house will be wonderful. Your basement wet room bath could be a really good place for low light plants.
This is alot of time and energy and effort. And I'm sure Kelsey is easy to get to the fun part (decorating) after all these months. Also, shoutout to David who has a solution for every problem!
ughhh girl i don’t think u understand how much i literally adore you! your videos are just my favourite! and on a side note i finally started my own channel because of you girl so thank u so much for being such an inspiration
I love how your home is coming on. The stairs to the basement are such a beautiful wood. I like the green for the tub or the racoon further. Good luck in your new home may you have lots of happiness there. And make a lot of wonderful memories.
Oh man! I love that a fresh coat of white paint really brightened and opened up the 1st floor loving space! I wanted to see more but so glad it was a long video. This looks amazing, Kelsey! Excited for you!
Kelsey, your home looks sooooo AMAZING with all the changes !!! The black handles looked really great until you put on the wood ones, and I was hooked. Glad you went with them. The basement ... Wow !!! The closets will hold sooo much for you and they look FANTABULOUS !!! Can't wait to see how your going to style it hunny. Great job !!! ♥️
Definitely take the paint off the door, wood handles, and green tub. Keep the raccoon fur paint chip and frame it. 😊suggestions bc it’s your house not mine. Edit: Actually not the wood handles and instead black so the different wood tones don’t clash. 😊
@JustTryMe 2019 well I would gone for black since tied in with all her fixtures using. Since she does have some wood in there too the wood handles are fine too just look kinda thin.
I agree that the door being just wood would be cute, but I’m concerned about the different tones of wood. If the door and her vanity were a close match I’d say that’s fine, but if her stairs, her handles, her vanity and her door are all different colours of wood it might look a bit odd. Of course she could stain them al to match I guess
I’m in shock with how amazing the basement looks. You’ve built walls and storage and it seems bigger??? How the heck did that happen?! And the layout is so modern and fresh! Amazing
I love how the episodes are so chock full of transformations over time! It makes it so satisfying to watch, even if it means waiting longer for episodes! SO excited to see it as it transforms.
Love what you're doing and can't wait for the big reveal. The bathroom tile, concrete floor, tub-- all of it is goals! Pro tip, when you are loading a paint roller, you should roll it repeatedly away from you in small rotations, slightly into the paint in the tray. Rolling it toward you will actually take paint off of the roller (which is fine if that's your goal); rolling back and forth will put paint on and then remove it. Stirring a can of paint is also super important, even if you just had it shaken at the hardware store.
seeing you outside made me think I can't wait to see what you do with the outer part of the house! I think for me the landscaping is the thing I'm looking most forward to in homeownership. Because inside comforts are great especially in the winter, but late spring, summer, early fall weather is meant for being outside relaxing getting fresh air. I think after this pandemic that's something I've come to value a lot more.
Honestly I love how dented and scratched the bathroom door is!!! I would paint that bit at the top because I think the original brown is too much but the rest of the door, the marks look perfect.
I'm so invested in this house. Living vicariously through the sorry girls as I bum it at my parents house (COVID-19 hit hard and moving back in was a HUMBLING decision I had to make)...counting down the days until I can afford to move out and make up my OWN space!!!
Looking sooooo good! I wish more people would pick her designs for style selected because even though her design might be a little more understated she really did thought through the different elements in the space and how it works together
Aahhhhhh I can’t believe my picture is in the end card!!! That just totally made my day, thank you!!!!! (Also loves the video, it’s going to be so beautiful!!)
I'm so excited for you and to see how the house gonna turn out. This make me feels like I'm building my own home lol and watching the entire journey got me to a lot of thinking about my future and future house
This has been such an inspiring transformation. Doing up an older home is probably the only way I'll be able to buy a home for the forseeable future so it's awesome to get some ideas. Loving these videos, can't wait to see more!!
So much improvement, I am happy for you! Just one thing: I am a little worried about the shower.. that close to a wooden vanity without a glass divider or similar? It might ruin it way sooner than you expect.
I just bought a house too!! We won’t be making many changes, but cleaning up the yard and being really intentionally about where everything goes has been so fun! Congrats on your home and congrats on creating a situation where you can hopefully live almost mortgage free! That’s so amazing!
The amount of vision it took to imagine what that old space could be still has me flabbergasted but it is looking so good! Can't wait to see how your unit looks once styled!
Love love everything about this reno. The green tub would be super cute but it’s definitely more of a current trend, I think the black is the safer route. Then you can add/change accent colors whenever you want!!
Kelsey how amazing!! I've only been watching The Sorry Girls for a few weeks, and while I've loved all the videos I've seen so far, Making Home has been my absolute favorite. It's extremely well edited, and gives such a great idea of how a house reno can go and all the details that you need to think about. And as always you are a comical delight! Loved all the finish selections you've made so far, and for your tub I'm Team Green lol. You can't go wrong with black, and it is classic and does match your fixtures, but since all the walls are tile there's not a lot of room for art to add color. The tub could be that nice pop of color in the room. And a sage tone would match the warmth of the wood vanity. Also maybe I'm the only one, but I love that salvaged door exactly as it is, it's really cool how chippy it looks with the modern style. But if you do end up stripping or sanding the paint off, maybe try bleaching the wood to get a pretty light tone that's a little rustic, similar to the stairs wood. And if you don't paint the tub green, maybe the door is what gets the color. Whatever you do I have no doubt it'll be beautiful.
Iam so happy for you. I watch your show SORRY GIRLS,and love it. Iam 74 years old and soon to be 75 July 1. Early happy birthday ♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎
Almost bday twins, mines on June 30th happy early birthday!
mary fermin Happy almost birthday!😊❤️
TheSorryGirls need to go decorate Mary’s house! (after the pandemic of course)
OMG you are so cute Mary!! Love you!!
I love that Kelsey bought this house and has reno’d the sh*t out of it but the ladder is what makes her an official homeowner 🤣
When things break and take money out pocket fix it then you know your a real home owner 😂😂
Anjenina M it’s actually so true
I think the sliding door leading into the bathroom would look really good just as wood. It’ll help tie in to the vanity and add warmth 😊 looking good!
Yesss
What if she did like wood contact paper? 🧐
I agree. Bringing in warm wood colours would look great with the white and black pallet, and help the floors stand out :)
It will be a lot of work but I also think that stripping that gorgeous door back to its wood finish and then just staining and varnishing it will give a lot of character. I used spar varnish on all the old doors and wood trim in my house and it's holding up well, even in the bathroom.
YES! I was thinking the same thing.
Can’t wait till you post more 😘
I laughed so hard at the "Generic Hardware Store". Also, love her style and humor.
This pre covid 19 footage is freaking me out and making me nostalgic. Life looks so simple.
Omgosh, me too. I'm thinking, she's shopping with no mask.
This is also Canada not US
This is one of my favorite series right now
The white on the walls really do make a difference especially upstairs where the fireplace is.
Could you do a cost breakdown of your home purchase and the reno?
Was thinking exactly of that as well
yes please!!!!!!!
Kinda personal and you know people are going to make notes about every single piece and price
Yaa would love it
@@feraguilar4175 didnt think if it like that at all
I love how long these episodes are because sometimes other people who make these series only show a little bit and then keep you waiting again. I love it❤️
Fun fact “raccoon fur” is also the black shade the MAC cosmetics uses in their spaces haha
they are even non-cruelty free with their painting shade names lol
How do you know this LOL
It’s the colour they use in one of Canada’s big museums too!
Haha I was told by an office manager!
Sara Saberi I cackled
I'm literally so invested in Kelsey's home! I'm watching every ad and clicking on them just so she can get the coin and all the nice things for her home!!!
Yay I love this series and I’m so exited to see how the house turns out
I hope Margo had a good Mother's day. I have a Mother's day tradition of visiting ducks and geese and seeing the babies.
„Cookies are dangerous“ - „what, because they fall on you!“ hahah that made me giggle a bit too much 😂
Don't be worried about being excited, we are so excited FOR you and WITH you! I know I'm very grateful that you decided to post this season of making your house a home. If you painted the tub green it would complement your wood accents! That’s my vote! ❤️
That pocket door is beautiful! I love the textured glass.
I'm so happy that this journey is coming to a close. I'm sure Kelsey is ready for this to be over so she can get completely settled into her new home.
Kelsey doing painting and gardening in stunning denim dungarees and a fancy coat is the kind of bravery I wish I had. When she got paint on her beautiful dungarees I cried inside.
This is turning out SO good! 👏🏻 this series is amazing! You guys are my inspiration to keep going on RUclips and sharing DIYs! 🥰

I think with her some costs are reduced because she thrifts and does the other things herself. I wish I had the same talent haha
okay but when you were doing laundry WHERE did u get the jeans you were wearing?? so cute!
hands down my favourite series! I get so happy when the notification pops up on my phone 😊😊

Me too! :D
Yaaas Kelsey the home owner! Not gonna lie, this home Reno/transformation series has been absolutely gratifying to follow and watch. Excited for the next episode, but no rush! I’ll be here when it comes. 😊
I love seeing the day by day progress of the whole space so much that I wish you’d continue it like that instead of finishing it room by room
I’m most excited about the common entryway! Those tiles thooo
Is there a way to turn that little half wall on the end of the kitchen island into open shelving to showcase. nice serving pieces or for cook books? Love what you’ve done so far. The house will be wonderful. Your basement wet room bath could be a really good place for low light plants.

the sage/pistaccio green in the tub will look DREAMY

The content you and Becky are putting out during iso is your best (in my opinion)🥰
I’m legit excited like it’s me moving in lol. The white paint helped the living room sooo much! I also love the bathroom vibes.
Great job the bird is a symbol to welcoming you to your new home.

Don’t be sorry for being excited about how it’s all turning out! I’d be as excited as you! Just barely started watching this series and I love it!!
Black tub, black handles - classic and the handles are more substantial than the wood....wood looks like it could easily break.
Too late for that haha :P Wood is gr8!!!
@@szeponzi Yes, I saw as the video continued that she chose the wood. I think it looks out of place - should have gone with the black, IMO.
I definitely prefer the wood. It matches with the other mcm details like the bathroom vanity
I agree soooo much that looked so thin that it could fall of the door if you pulled hard enough
She did mention making sure they would be long lasting. I think both look great!
Ohhhhhh you don’t understand how exciting this process is for me. Ohhhhh I’m soooo happy!!

I’m interested to know how long the wood handles would last without breaking
Long time. It is whole wood, try breaking wooden spoon and you will see it's pretty hard 😊
This has been such an inspiring transformation. Doing up an older home is probably the only way I'll be able to buy a home for the forseeable future so it's awesome to get some ideas. Loving these videos, can't wait to see more!!
