(159) Glenhuntly Tram Square - Last Day Of Trams, 5th May 2023.

After almost 110 years of operation the Glenhuntly Tram Square saw its last tram at 9.06pm on Friday 5th May 2023 when B2 2085 became the last tram to cross. Whilst the tram square will be missed by rail and tram enthusiasts, in reality it was long past its use-by date and caused massive congestion and unacceptable noise levels along this busy Glenhuntly Rd shopping precinct as trams and trains banged and crashed their way over the square.
This video shows trams and trains passing over the square on the last day of tram operations and viewers will soon come to appreciate the reasons why the square had to be replaced.
