The new Glenhuntly Station is surprisingly nice- almost Architecture- not some rubbish thrown up in five minutes.

Wow, I was on the train for years going too and from work, you could hear a bit of a crunch in the train, but nothing like on the video sound track, heck, I often slept on the train, right through there. On the video it sounds more like a large excavator mounted jack-hammer, and the trams make a very noticeable bounce going through there.
I wondered why they spent all that money ripping it out, it had been that way, like forever, so if you moved into that area, that's what you bought into. However after hearing it here, glad to see it gone - what a poor design they are.
Pity I never got off at GlenHuntley and listened, as it seemed so subdued in the train, not that I could easily, as I was usually on the express that didn't stop there.

I know this was one of a handful of these types of crossing. Did the State of Victoria ever remove the other tram square crossings like this?

The 2 remaining are on the Glen waverley and alamein line and none of them are on the list for removal

@@verboten82 yeah sadly. I think Riversdale needs to be Skyrail since there conveniently is the flying junction, meaning Willison will need to close or relocate down the line, but Kooyong needs to be trenched since there was already complaints from the Kooyong community about the Toorak Road skyrail.

@@senorliamy17so sick of the hate Skyrail gets. Looks sick, is barely loud, and most importantly is the cheapest way we have to build rail!! but alas
