Every graduation video I just cry. I just envision myself here one day, in person, hearing that same speech, receiving my pin and whatever else comes, and finally becoming an Airman.
I remember watching Kyles videos some years back. So glad to see you here as well.
We almost have the same story: we have that burning desire that just won’t allow us to stop thinking about the Air Force, despite others being not so encouraging. But I’m so glad that you listened to yourself and I am going to try again.
It sounds like you want to join, I myself am conserving it as well. I don't know your life circumstances, but I encourage you to actually join. I myself have thought about it for about 5 years, finally talking to a recruiter now!

awesome to see parents back at graduation. brings a tear to my eye that parents can finally experience their boy or girl going through military graduation again even if attendance is still limited.

Happy to see new Airmen graduate with this ceremony. My squadron was supposed to be the first to graduate with this ceremony, but we got rained out. I’m incredibly happy to see others were able to enjoy this. They earned it!

This is awesome to see. I remember when I joined, watching Kyle's videos before I joined. That was 4 years and 4 stripes ago, watching this graduation ceremony really takes me back and brought me so much joy and nostalgia. Congratulations on you accomplishment and welcome to the Air Force!

October 26th and I finally start my new journey. I’m excited
After watching your videos for over a year as I started my Air Force journey, I finally became a member after crying watching this! Thank you Makenna and Kyle for all the work you put into this channel. Your videos have been so helpful. You helped me choose my career field (3D1X2 Cyber Transport Systems) and are still helping me pack to ship out in exactly two weeks. Makenna, can't wait to see when you graduate from Tech School! Kyle, the haircut looks great! Good luck to everyone else in this thread who is preparing to ship out. No matter what age or stage of life we're in, we got this y'all!

@@hazelmarie6513 I think she kept a journal with a day to day log with what they did. However, keep in mind your experiences will vary a little bit.
@@JewelNicole that would be cool if she added a picture of her journal logs in her bmt videos. Like week 1 "woke up @ _"0600"_, breakfast @___,, class @ ____ , lunch @ ___" etc.

That had to be the sweetest thing I've ever seen, watching you two see eachother after two months. Congrats to Airman Gott, I graduated BMT this year myself and loved it just like you did! Good luck at tech school and a tip for you: make sure you sign up to be a rope. You get experience in a leadership position, a guaranteed LOA (the good kind, not admonishment but appreciation), and a unique experience.

Congrats! Welcome to the best branch In my opinion. I joined back in may of 2018 and boy seeing how much has changed is a shocker. Surprised they did your guys formation in blues. I missed out on this as I entered with three years of JROTC and graduated earlier than the rest of my flight. Never got the photo, either. Looking back, I wish I had stuck around.
Bro! One time my flight started to sing the AF song in the shower. MTI came in screaming to shut up, but it was so funny to know other dudes in my flight watched your videos lol

I’ve been following you guys for over a year now. I love the journey and info, I appreciate all the work put into the content. CONGRATULATIONS MAKENNA!!! I’ve just turned 30 and am currently in DEP. 10 yrs ago I got to where it was time to swear into DEP but dropped everything for a girl.. Despite being older, I’ve decided to go for it again! Happy for her/y’all and I hope to be on that side soon.

It's wild, I remember seeing Kyle's first couple of videos and then joining the Air Force right after him. Now I'm getting ready to separate and escape the maintenance career field.

Strips! NO ONE GOT any strips before graduation in my day ! You had to wait until after graduation before sewing em on . And your oath was given before you left for BMTS .

This is seriously so exciting! I’m so happy to finally see Makenna doing what she’s been wanting to do for years now! My husband just joined the Air Force and just left for BMT this past Tuesday! Also in all honesty I feel like he and I would’ve never been mentally ready or as prepared for this big step in our lives if it wasn’t for you guys and your channel! Looking forward to see how you guy’s journey progresses now that she’s in!

@@ProtaJ thank you! I kinda naturally slack in arithmetic, it hasn’t been my strong point even when I was in high school and since I was so used to more calculus based/ geometry based problems. Do you think it’s possible to achieve a 50 while I’m strong in all of the other areas and so so in arithmetic?

It's only the Thursday of Graduation. I was thinking the same thing too but my recruiter said that it is only the day of because on Friday the new airmen are sent off to tech school.

What happened?
@@NA-xp2cr Kind of a long story. I've thought about making a video about it but haven't. Basically, in week 1 during the hearing tests, they pulled me to the side and didn't allow me to test. Told me they saw something in my ear that concerned them. Week 2, I was sent for an MRI. Then at the end of week 4, right before beast week, I was sent to Reed for a follow up with the doctor and they said they found a tumor in my ear. They also said apparently I had a bunch of scarring in my ear that was disqualifying. So then I went to med-hold for like another month or so then was sent home haha. Come to find out, after a few ENT appointments outside of the military, they said I never had a tumor in my ear.

@@qtpenguinnie Not sure. I considered trying about a year after that all happened in 2018. But I remember they said the scarring in my ear was disqualifying so I'm not sure. At this point, I have new dreams and aspirations so I don't have a desire to go back and try again. As much as I wanted to have the experience of graduating and becoming an Airman, I think that dream has came and went. And I'm almost 30, although I know that's not a big deal.

yep, they had stopped having people attend and then just brought it back in July, but only 2 vaccinated people per person

I am super excited to see my daughter graduate Aug 16th/17th. Did they allow you to bring a GoPro or are you using your phone? Congrats to her bro!
You could bring a gopro. I just used my phone. Better zoom. Gopros are good for super up close video because of the wide angle, but even phones allow .5 zoom now for wide view and they can zoom.

Hard to believe that I was at Lackland Air Force Base from February to March 1979, forty-four years ago this month! Time sure does fly. Retired in March 1999, twenty-four years ago next month, after doing my part for God and country. Aim high, everyone.

cannot have any covid exemptions, they are mandatory (being made mandatory at some point in September I think)
