I graduated from Lackland in 1986, had a very rewarding and enjoyable Air Force career and retired after 24 years of service! I would do it all over again!
Graduated BMT in1977 and retired in 1997. My AFSC was Radio Relay Repairman in the communications field. Which pretty much would put me in any corner of the world. From an air base to the most remote communication site. After the cold war ended all those communications relay sites on mountain tops have all been abandoned and closed. Back then we had AF base in Libya & Iran. The Iranian military also trained in Lackland back then.
I graduated the same year, started out training for sky cops, but got volunteered to Para rescue spent allot of time at Lackland training. I remember the Iranians being there, they bought every bottle of mens and womens perfume and covered themselves in it because they wouldnt shower...pigs!
I was there back in March for my great nephew’s graduation, it was the most moving day of this year by far! They wore their dress blue jackets also, wonder why this one was in shirtsleeves? Anyway, the morning from their run when he spotted us with our banner and the big ole smile came over his face to all the patriotic music, marching, flags! I’ve never felt so patriotic before in my life! It was a great day, so proud of Trey that day! Posting under his RUclips I just realized, it was on my iPad (don’t have my own acct).
USAF Uniform 505 followed by 1505 khakis much improved didn't wrinkle as much. Loved it when all the military services had khaki uniforms with service unique rank stripes🙂🫡 Liked 40 mission crush flying saucer service caps too.
I was there in October 1972, 3711 BMTS/Flight 1111, they were pushing 1600+ flights a year through...I was back twice for two of my sons who went through BMTS..still one of the best experiences of my life..
My son just entered BMT last week, and I am looking forward to seeing him for Family Day (on his little brother's birthday!!) and for graduation the following week.
Please. Do you know the schedule of the graduation? Is it Thursday and Friday still? What days do they get with family? How long? I greatly appreciate your help.
Graduated in December 82. Went to Chanute, IL for tech school, 423X0, then stationed at Pease AFB, NH, also went to Plattsburg, NY, Westover, MA, and Altus, OK. Did reserve duty at Homestead, FL.
We also got on a bus to the train station enroute to Chanute AFB (March 1968) No ceremony or anything. I've been retired for 35 years now. I will miss it til I die.
I graduated back in 96'. Some things here I noticed that are different. 1. A pregnant drill instructor. How's that possible? 2. So many already with stripes. You usually didn't get your stripes until after graduation, not before. 3. What is a "special warfare flight", "commanders excellence flight", "fitness excellence flight" and "academic specialist flight"? 4. Tattoos were a no no below the sleeve, elbow. 5. Transgender drill instructor. From another video.
My son just graduated July 13th & it was one of the greatest experiences! I’m so proud of his accomplishments. He was first an element leader & then Dorm Chief & I got the opportunity to witness him call his flight & present coins. GOD bless every Airman! Airman Anthony Llorens FLT 407 ♥️🤍💙🇺🇸🫡

In took Basic at Amarillo AFB Jul 67 - Aug 67. We didn't get a stripe until we graduated Basic. I see a bunch of people with not just one stripe but two stripes. I guess you get rank fast in today's USAF...
When USAF still had Warrant Officers (much respect for them) and hardship AF bases like Goosebay Labrador, Eareckson Air Station Shemya Island, Thule. Greenland. BRrrrrrr🥶😶🌫️
How far is the graduation site from san antonio international airport(SAT) i am planning to attend the graduation this coming nov22 thanks for you reply and video
I have a question for anyone that knows. Please help. My fiancé is graduating next month and I can’t find information on the days. There are times I’ve heard the Airman’s run and the coin ceremony is on Thursday and the Graduation is on Friday. There is other information saying it is all on Thursday. Does anyone know the correct information. I appreciate it.
Newly graduated airmen here. Due to covid restrictions the airmen's run, graduation and the coin ceremony are all on one day which is Thursday. Your fiancé should have sent you a paper with the itinerary for the day. After the graduation ceremony your fiancé should be able to spend a couple of hours with you before he has to head back to his squadron for the night. Then after that he will be heading to his designated Tech School.
51 years ago for me, we wore 1505’s in those days. They are Khaki color uniforms. Old Air Force I guess you would say! Did a tour in Vietnam as a Security Forces Troop. Lots of memories from my time in the USAF. Some good, some not so good. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.
I'm curious,. where do the visitors sit? I am going in June, will I be in stands or down at ground level like this video? trying to decide what camera lens to bring!
Sorry. I arrived late to the grad ceremony because the base police gave poor instructions to the family parking area. Please see my channel for additional short videos of the ceremony.

It has to do with whether or not they had a degree or otherwise met the qualification. I came in back in 1997 with an associate's, which qualified me for E3. You also got rank for being in the eagle scouts. It was all in your contract you signed at MEPS. We were only allowed to wear the uniform with rank starting on graduation day.

We didn’t have this big stadium in 2010. It was like a parking lot with bleachers. Still couldn’t forget it though. One of the best days of my life.

Hasn’t changed much since I graduated in 1971. Last time I marched in the Air Force. Good years!
The only thing that has changed is the wooden World War II type barracks and the the Air Force blue uniform!
God I miss the USAF! Served 24 years and then all three of my children served and retired too!

1967 we wore kahki shirts-never had such a huge drill area. Course it was only 6 weeks. And anywhere we went the "road guards" were front and back.
1961 wore the Kahki too. Remember the kahki Bush Jacket.

I love 💕 you this is so motivational. I'm 322 from Oct. 2002. I'm heading into rehabilitation school and this is what I needed
Best wishes to you. It seems like everyone really enjoyed the Boot Camp. Should be a cake walk (compared to the Marines).

Love your verse but perhaps you meant to post this on your fav religious RUclips channel? This is an AF graduation.
Why are they all segregated?
Some squadrons were mixed, I believe.
Out of step 2:29 last row closest to the camera
This is a mess tbh. Did they never learn to wear properly fitting unifroms? How about proper parade rest? Or March? Jesus Christ
Does the AF separate the boys and girls?
They do everything together outside. Inside, they sleep and shower separately.
