Thanks for the video. This was good to see whats in store for me. Would there be any problem to first setting the brackets at the most pulling "setting" and just cut to the chase or would that potentially damage the handle assembly?
Ya you can set it to the max setting and install the handle. When you close the door the worse thing that could happen is one (or both) wouldn’t latch because they are too tight
great job, thanks for this video. I am about to buy a 98 and the door handle is broken and I was concerned how hard it was going to be. Thanks for taking the time and showing how the little adjustments make a difference on getting the door to open properly
I'm replacing the same in my truck, but I can't seem to get pressure on the handle for it to open the door. Is there a certain spot the 2 clips go on the rods? I kept moving them both and just couldn't get enough pressure for it to open
Ya sometimes you have to pull the threaded rod towards the handle and then clip it on. There should be a couple inches of adjustment on the threaded rod.
I dropped the damn clip into the door😂
I inherited my dad's Sonoma. I can't get the 3rd door to open, and yep, handle snapped right off.
The moment you realized the new one was broken was hilarious
3 have broken on my 2002 s10 last 18 years and the 3rd was 12 years ago. I just bought a new one i hope it dont break anytime soon.
