Frankly the struggle of waiting on funding for builds is some of the most relatable car content on youtube right now
Even if we're usually working on a Ferrari, we try to keep it relatable around here.
Waiting on funding and waiting on parts too lol
Or waiting on insurance. Or a hurricane lol.
My project (which was my daily) got totaled a month ago and finally got paid off by insurance yesterday. I got a week to buy something else. Not had power for a week due to Beryl and if this is any indication, my next car needs to not be a project. 😂
i have waiting to do my build for 30 years.. ill save enough oneday.
Every morning I yell “WHATS IN THE BOX MIKE!?” and it keeps me going, so no rush 🙃
No one’s pissed mike! Keep doing your thing
Work, earn, order, spend, work.... You are top 3 favourite on RUclips. I have faith 🎉
I'm glad to have provided a new home for the E30, and it makes me happy to think I have a small part in the new project!
You are far from alone in the struggle this year.
All in the RUclips car comunity has for sure heard about this channel and builds....should have been millions of followers! Hope comunity wake up soon and start following and supporting this channel ❤❤❤
mechanic: 15mins to install but 4hrs to break down and thats with the right replacement part.
parts dept: yeah 2 to 3 weeks for that part.
h.r: we dont need mechanics they just sit around all day.
supplier: these parts arent really selling, scrap em.
You've dealt with buying parts for a VF Commodore/Chevy ss then?
Remember to have fun, it’s important to keep your channel on track.. your passion for the projects are why people like to follow you ❤️
still one of the best car channels, keep it up!
No need to apologize, great builds, great channel...Onward, brother.
It's hard to imagine something even more ambitious than the Ferrari and Model A projects Mike, I'm hyped to see how your new project come together 🤘
I appreciate your channel for being the most real and unfiltered on RUclips. We appreciate your approach and attitude. Don’t lower your standards one bit.
Amen to this video. People have no idea how much work it is to produce car build content. Congrats Mike 👏👏👏
I’m just impressed no one from Paterson has spoiled it here. Going to be an exciting build! Can’t wait.
Exactly what I was thinking. Not gonna lie, I tried Googling it, haha. With all the suspense, this could be an incredible surprise, or a huge disappointment if it's not up my alley.
Why would you when you pay?
The amount of nickel and dime jobs on our project (building from scratch for the road) is horrific. Just the wiring was weeks of episodes, getting number plates lights, dash padding for safety, not to mention parts sourcing... all in it's a drag and trying to make an episode that people want to watch AND makes progress is tough when you run out of the big headline wins (welding chassis/bodywork/engines/etc)
Holding off on work because of the order-of-install only compounds it, Ours hasn't been on the floor in more than a year because the suspension came off to do wheel bearings, among other small bits. It sounds insane. The week we got the bits to make up some custom (temporary) driveshafts, the welder died which also knocks everything back and means more outlay on things other than parts and time spent on not building/fixing problems.
RUclips doesn't like big projects :|
Looking forward to the next big build, just don't do what we did :D
Oh man, I am still in the early stages of my project, and all this sounds familiar😢 someday it will get done, right?
Every job has hard parts. You still have the dream job for many.
Keep up the good work 😎💪
Not annoyed at all, the fact that there’s a chassis table and big crates answers a lot of questions already. Enough for me to know I’ll watch!
Building cars for yourself is a pain in the *** when waiting for parts, money and so on. Then put on the extra stress of making good content around that. Keep up the good work! Planning a full tubechassi at the moment so I am looking forward to see how you go about things!
You deserve to have about 3 million subscribers.
Agree, why is he only at 280k 🤷
It's all money over here too! Project grounded to a halt until the funds are saved and we're able to purchase the next pieces of the puzzle.
Have your channel ready to binge all at once. Wish to one day be able to do a k24 swap on an E30 or 911 if I money only allows a rolling chassis.
Good luck with your project!
Im so bloody hyped to see what this next build is!!
I follow the channel since the Ferrari project started and I love your content. I feel is great how you educate and explain everything you do and why. The projects are awesome and I think anyone that loves cars know that money can be a huge factor to speed on projects. So would say don't sweat on it the people that follow your content won't care for delays keep doing what you love and find solutions for you to have a nice life outside work because you deserve it. Cheers from an Argentinian living in Spain
I lost it when you hit us with the “I’m not here to toot my own horn, but beep beep” lol
With the Model A, if you are going to sell there is no need to put extra stuff into it. Make it work and look nice and sell it. It's only going to cost more money in the end by keeping it and doing small upgrades that takes time and more money that you are not going to recoup when selling it.
It won’t be cheap, so it needs to be right. And my name will be attached to it so that matters to me.
“Send Cut Send “, are Cool !
Hey Mike,
It's my first time tuning in. Awesome production values (nice work Anthony), great story-telling, and some seriously awesome rides.
Note: Producing a show of this caliber is no easy task.
I really like what you guys are doing. Looking forward to exploring your channel.
Keep up the great work!
-Robert (fellow content creator)
Getting honest insight into big projects like this on RUclips is refreshing and incredibly relatable to people even doing small projects on their vehicles. Keep up the awesome work.
The hardest part about building cars for RUclips is setting up. Writing. Production. Filming. Editing it
My brain is totally M1 with the S65 V8 stroked and built, carbon fibre every where and a tube chassis....
I cant wait to find out, its why I keep watching.
Keep up the grind, Mike!
You got dis.
Understanding the financial aspect of the builds (and your channel/business) adds another dimension to the content and I’m here for it!
I mean Project Binky is not really finished yet is it now 😂 waiting till you have enough to show for a few episodes makes sense and as a viewer is probably less annoying that waiting a decade for a build to finish 😂 Keep at it and thanks for keeping us in the loop of what goes on behind the curtains
Excited for all that comes next!!!
I see
I struggle keeping up with both my project vehicles and they both run. I can't imagine having to keep even more moving and organized, not to mention getting all the pieces in place for the next build.
Awesome thanks for the updates sometimes not sure if anything is going on but can see it’s all happening - can’t wait for project reveal!!
So stoked to see the new project. It is going to be wild.
Cars and Coffee / open house at your shop LOL ...... another great video, as always thank you for sharing
To me, there is noone on youtube that comes even close to you in terms of style and tastefulness. Just look at how well curated your Garage is. I wish you could keep the Ford - and I bet you do too, so selling it to fund another project is even more deserving of respect.
And if you, a generally rather humble guy, promises the biggest project so far - i have absolute faith it will turn out just awesome.
Thank you for all your hard work; I can't wait to see what you bought :)
When you’re a perfectionist and also have OCD, everything takes time.
And people understand only at the end. Keep up the good work. 👌
Keep at it Mike, we all know it will be worth it in the end. Cheers!
Mike,
keep up the good work. ...always cheering for you!
Keep it up Mike!! This new build is gonna be wild!!
Most relatable video lately. I’m almost 2 years into my E36 and only thing holding me back from finishing is funds and time. Trying to finish the build while having a day job and a family, surely makes things difficult as I don’t want to buy cheap parts and need to keep food in the table.
Just my Friday with this one, excited to see the future episodes
Keep up the hard work mate 👍🏻
Mike, to be honest I just like to watch you work. I bought a welder months ago and am teaching myself to weld. Had never heard of a rivet nut tool until I saw you use one. Bought one of those too. I am sure I am not the only one greatful of your RUclips tutelage.
I am so excited to see more. Not pissed at all, you got a plan so stick to it your viewers have your back.
Nice video, keep pushing, no balls, no blu chips. Rock and roll.
Will forever follow your builds 😍
this is one of the most underrater automotive channels on YT!!!!!!
Really looking forward to the new build man!
Not upset here Mike! Funding my own projects takes time and $$$. Can’t wait for whatever you role out it’s gonna be epic!
I’m not a paid person, I believe you are doing an awesome job!! Do what you wanna and need to do!!!! Your videos are great!!!!
I just signed up for the Patreon and HOLY HELL AM I EXCITED FOR THE NEW BUILD! Lmao I now know why you say you’re broke
Cant wait to see what will be this build !!
I'm eager for this project, you're one of the better channels on RUclips, love your content 👌 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Looking forward to the big project!
I can’t believe I wasn’t already subscribed to the channel, I’ve been watching your content for years. I’ve rectified this now, sorry!
Patreon gang here. I’m insanely excited for the new build. Like kid at Christmas excited.
"but BEEP BEEP" lol hell yeah Mike
i saw patreon photos and this project is going to be HUGE
Just happy when you upload a vid mate...take your time
literally this the story of my life, 10 projects, always bouncing around because im broke lol
I know it’s a small drop but I’ve just subscribed to your patreon. Love the work you do
but beep beep lol, cant wait to see the project revealed!
Pikes peak race car? I wouldn’t think it’s another time attack car but it definitely could be
What you're describing is what I call "prerequisites hell" or "while I'm in there". I've found I've ruined the love for a car by trying to get it perfect vs the Freiburger "get it running"
I'm trying to document my Mustang project... and the anxiety of it all is real. Couldn't imagine doing it on this scale and as the main focus of the channel.
Mike is building a tube chassis & and I’m here for it ✌🏼
For the Ferrari, maybe reduce the size of the fuel cell and put the surge tank in the space you make that way. Or make a new fuel cell and build the surge tank into one side of the tank. Just a thought
Looking forward to the new project!
Damn, the rent check bounced. Tough times indeed. Whenever you’ve got the content, we’ll watch
Keep the amazing work and can’t wait for the Audi build
I would like to see the Audi build happening soon, one of my all time favorite cars. But I do understand and will wait patiently for that build. Looking forward to seeing what is up next.
Been with ya since the e36 reboot years ago and not going anywhere! Ngl the gaps between videos is frustrating only bc the quality you guys bring keeps demand high 😂
I'd love to see something like MA's second channel on here. Love to see the canyon run you and Vin went on and all the other cool, or even silly shit your up to. It doesn't need to be as fine tuned as the edits you put here. Just shoot from the hip, run and gun. More uploads doesn't need to feel like more work, just keep a camera rolling and you'll get the views.
I'd like to do something like that, but it also makes the "fun" stuff feel like work too. I struggle to let go and let the content be lower quality, which makes the frequency suffer at times. I could always try it, but it's hard. I don't feel like I could upload it here, but I also don't feel like anyone would sub to a new channel.
@@stanceworks Not sure if it's the algos themselves or what... but higher frequency definitely helps channels build on any social media platform. Your quality on your main episodes is top notch and shouldn't change. However, adding some in between, lower quality, fun content that's not as much of a time sink for you might help YT's algo boost your channel. When you started the channel, you were at 2 episodes a week and it grew pretty quickly off of that. People will watch whatever you put out anyway! It's good shit
Man, I came here for the phraseology--and I'm not on patreon--to hear the the good word: mastering tig welding.
Also, Mike's hella blazed and focused on the burrito. Just the burrito.
Don't worry about not "finishing" a video. Just film as you go. It's always better to see stuff in the making than see it finished or compressing the work into a single video. I mean just a while ago I watched an Estonian dude cutting down and sawmilling lumber for like 2 and a 1/2 hours! And the time just flew by. Legitstreecars has many 40 min to hour plus long episodes, as does Rob Dahm. Also Diesel Creek. Many 15-20 min videos are just too stubby and compacted. But of course they can be interesting if filmed in detail.
I'm so excited about this - Go MIKE!!!!!
I have an idea for the fuel cell to help your fuel running out! 2 things, 1 extend the cell up and gain fuel amount, 2 use a fuel mat on the bottom of the cell that will draw until the very end! Fuel mat is made by Holley and all the nascar cup cars use one to keep from fuel starvation!
just wishing and praying for your success...
Here's my comment for the algorithm. Can't wait to see the build. It's not on brand but I'm hoping you're building a widebody gt40 from scratch.
Something noteworthy is that you could’ve started making obnoxious ads for Assault Shade Tales (caught that one?) and the likes and make an easy buck off crap and dubious sketches like many others do, yet you actively chose not to. Props to you for also thinking about the community and prioritising the quality of your content!
Waiting on parts is not the cause of your workflow slump. It is the designing the parts, drawing/modeling the parts, ordering the materials, fabricating the parts, painting the parts, setting time aside to install the parts, troubleshooting the parts, refitting the second new parts . . . and editing the process into a video, now that will slow down the workflow. Maybe you should start a new project; say a car with more parts? 😉
Can’t wait 😁👍
Progress is great but i love shop talk days!
Hooked, no matter what episode.
You’re 100% correct about the Ferrari’s oil lines. Blow an engine, lines and coolers are 99% of the time garbage. Keep pushing, you’ll get it finished!
I'd swap the "struggle" for being privileged enough to get to race at WTAC any day of the week.... 🤘
Makes you want to sell one/some of the projects? Got to be tough. Glad you putting out something at least. Update videos are fine and fun. *spoke to soon. lol
You, Vinny and Mat Armstrong, best tude dudes out there right now, for real!! Can't wait to see this thing!! Honestly, I love the rat and am super bummed to see it go but I get it, Its gotta go. If I had the ching I'd buy that thing and help you out but that's not in my cards at the moment. Love you dude, Keep it real!!
Thanks a ton, that puts me in with some amazing creators, I appreciate it!
Agree. These 3 are the very best!
I know you're always supposed to replace oil lines, cooler, etc, after an engine explosion. But now that we have tiny inspection cameras that you can thread into tight places, I wonder if it's possible to run one through a cleaned up oil line to search for possible debris?
ALL-IN.... I LIKE THAT!!
I Wish you 50Mil subs and nothing but the best. It is not obnoxious explaining projects. Unfortunately, funding is a serious issue when it comes to these types of builds, and that is the harsh reality.
Did you maybe think of something like, every person who donate like $15 or more towards this project can have their name listed in your new project under the hood (inside, underside of the hood)? That'll be epic
I know how difficult & expensive it is, Mike. I'm 10 years in with my build, but there is light at the end of the tunnel... it's very dim, but i can see it 😂 Cheers. Leigh 🏴
Defqon voiceover lol... Man this is good.
I hope it's a ford rs200 since you've got the ford hat on!
@11:42 Ohh good one of your standard builds. Dude your stuff is up there already, you've been setting the bar for video subject matter and quality, not to mention in numerous aspects of vehicle design/modification.
That new chassis table is oddly small.
Do I possibly smell a tube chassis Mini build?
Keep it up Mike. I'm sure we're going to be here when the worm starts to turn.
this looks like its gonna be a builders build :)
Model A, Please, it's a project it will always be a project, not just for you but for every one after you......... LET IT GO!!!!
I cant wait for the audi to be done
