The sub $300 models in 27 to 31.5" 1440p are very good indeed, $229 for a totally another level of image quality experience for anything equal or over 4060/7600... most people should expereince first the fact of seeing actual better frames (at good pace without tearing, freesync/g-sync) than keep upgrading for higher number on FPS counter on screen... the Oled 42 is a very good high-end current tech at max to do video-walls or artistic work... you should also explore the 4k cheap TV because there are good enough for gaming options if you don't need high frequency FPS, the 75 to 120Hz with free-sync (or very cheap 60Hz) can make a lot of fun at 1 m or more distance...they give real-wide field of view, no need to go ultrawide 😊

Hey Fabio, I do need some advice about watching 1080p videos on 1440p monitors that no one is talking about !
Tried some high-spec 1440p models but all of them were blurry, shockingly worse than 1080p native monitors while playing 1080p videos.

Then I unfortunately learned that the scaler won't be able to precisely transpose the 1080p image onto the 1440p screen. Meaning, blur and other visual artifacts make the video look substantially worse than 1080p native monitors and it's not related with bitrate or compression etc.

Mainly watching 1080p shows, movies (not streaming on youtube/Netflix etc) and have a huge archive...
Tried 4K monitors/TVs with 1080p videos and they look just fine, equal to 1080p native !

4K is exactly four times 1080p resolution; this means that for every pixel in 1080p, there are four pixels in 2160p, so you just make each pixel four times bigger. Looks exactly like a native 1080p display.

I want to upgrade to 2K (1440p) for games, web & work but "to watch 1080p videos blurry with artifacts" is holding me back.
I know, 4K is hard to drive and it's expensive but definitely clearer than 1440p !

    - Should I skip 1440p & invest in 4K monitors ?
Can you do a video about the elephant in the room ?

I've been using the ktc m27t20 now for about 3 months and I am very happy with it. Works great for HDR media and has a fast and clear panel, despite it being a VA panel. The only minor inconvenience is that the monitor gets a bit warm so the room heats up if I don't run the AC, over time. For $470, it was a great deal for 1440p at 144hz (165hz if you don't run hdr), with good hdr. I'm not sure the value and actual performance to price can be beat..?

@@pasha715 Beyond the blur test/ufo test I have not performed any other tests, other than using the monitor for gaming and video, and office work, and neither in the ufo test, nor dueing my use did I detect ghosting or overshoot/inverse ghosting. There are overclocking settings you can finagle with but I have not tried them or tested them, yet (so they are in their default mode atm). Perhaps the overclocking settings would change this, I do not know.
Playing some "legacy games" (games older than 15 years) the refresh rate options are not detected properly in in-game menus, and have to be manually adjusted via config files of the games, but that might be an AMD thing rather than a KTC thing (I got my 5800X3D/7900XT setup at the same time that I bought the monitor).

KTC hmm never heard of those guys, I was more familiar with EIZO, Silicon Graphics, Sony, iiyama, Samsung, Philips, Dell or HP.
thanks for making this video, although best monitor brand as image quality goes on the market is actually EIZO, they are hard to beat, but what they cost tons, 3K+ is normal for EIZO territory, and yea it iois good to see a company offer a good image quality for a far more affordable price, HP & Samsung used to be my go to brands, but now I know of KTC yea new idea's are forming :)
KTC seems to be ideal for those that seek a high quality panel for a far more affordable price, price quality wise KTC is surely a winner as it seems, a very nice video once again!

Using M27P20 since half a year or so and can recommend. It looks a bit simplistic and mid quality, material-wise, but it's sturdy and solid and moving it around feels good. Switching LD on / off, or between HDR, SDR, etc... can be a bit quirky or bothersome, but it's not the monitors fault. I mostly use it in SDR with LD and just ignore the white blurs here and there. For work I turn off LD. It always feels sad, as images def. look more bland and reflections (or "shiny-ness") on dark bg become much more visible (still great and better than most displays without LD though).

It was much more powerful and HDR videos were really stunning to watch. On the other hand it was almost too powerful for me (in regards to nits... in HDR you sometimes really have to squint you're eyes, if a scene chances from dark to bright). Also turning LD off and on several times per day was a bit annoying. Everything worked fine after 6 months use every day and i sold it for 60% of original value.
