- I've been eyeing these fur rugs for a while, but they are sooo expensive! I'm ballin' on a budget and refuse to pay more than a days work for something that will be laying on my floor for its lifetime.

You can use shelf-liners for the non-slip material! They sell them at dollar tree in rolls :)

I use shelf liners for many things.....under kitchen tablecloth, under an old towel used to protect the top of the dryer, under rugs, in the sink to protect dishes.

Very pretty. Great job. I've gone overboard with faux fur. I have the expensive fur rug from Greece that cost about $800 (it was my moms) but I have the faux fur in several places in the living room and bed room. I have throws, pillows, chair covers and rugs!! Love them!

This amazing! I’ve been looking a nice faux fur rug for our lounge ready to the cold months but I want to make it cheaper than these companies are asking. I love this idea! Thankyou so much!
I don't know if you're still into this two years later, but you can buy whole raw sheep wool for under £10, and around £5 for more common breeds like easycare sheep. As long as you know what you're doing, and secure it to the backing correctly, you can make an adult sheep rug (with no harmed sheep or sheepskin) for like £20
So glad I found this because I had a similar idea, this helped me to fine tune the details I couldn't figure out. I will be going to the alley in la for my fabric though because it SOOO MUCH cheaper😁

This helped me with my project of using my deceased mom's rabbit fur coat[ it has deteriorated and was torn beyond being wearable, I couldn't part with it] to make a bedside throw rug. I am using rug canvas and not using a filler as the fur is cushion enough. Please no music during demonstration.
Remember to wear a mask when spraying.

@@AraceliChanDIY Should have done it outside with a mask.and let it dry for a couple of days. That stuff is toxic.I won't use it.

Chiara Newton i just saw your question! So I have not had to wash it as of yet. I will have to do an update for that and I will also research on that adhesive spray. Sometimes you're so excited about something you don't think about the details lol

+Cinthya R I already had it, but originally I got it from Big Lots... I think lol You can find them at Walmart, Ross, Fred Meyer etc.
What measurements did you get?
tracey Roberts I got 2 yards of it, but cut some of it. The actual size of the finished rug is 6x4 ft. Hope that helps! :)

Nicolette Adams NON-SLIP RUG PAD. You can get Mainstays brand at Wal-Mart. Less than $20 for 8×10 and less than $10 for smaller sizes ☺

You shouldve let the adhesive sit for a few minutes before sticking it all together...It sticks better.

made one of these a few months ago, but mine got stuck to my carpet. Did you have that problem?
I was thinking that maybe you didn't wait long enough to flip it over so the adhesive didn't dry? But, I pulled mine up this morning to check and it did stick a little bit. It wasn't too bad. I am going to try washing it so we'll see how that goes!

Hey there, I got 2 yards of it, but didn't use it all. The final result was a 6x4 rug :) Hope that helps! The remaining fabric, I used as two bathroom rugs.
