    Good stuff. I'm starting a Saturday Morning Basketball league for my 4 & 5 graders. I decided to change things up, because not many signed up. So I will turn it into Saturday Morning Basketball Clinic. One of the first things I will focus on will be the "pivot." I will of course teach defense, passing, shooting, layups & etc...but footwork will be the focus of this clinic. Hopefully, by the time they graduate 5th grade, I can recommend good trainers, for the students who have gained an appreciation for basketball & are "serious." I just want them to have a foundation before they leave me.

    Really good. I've coached for 25 years. Always thought passing drills were really boring to work on unless you're in like a full court weave to a 2 on 1 back or something like that . this is a great way to put this in. We do stations with our younger guys just to make sure they sort of touch everything. I don't really teach an offence until about the 6th grade other than maybe space out and cut so stations works good for us. With that in mind, this will go in Tuesday. Thank you great video, thank you

      I started my U10 boys basketball team with a game of football basketball (no dribbling... the goal is to score a "toughdown" in the enzone (past the baseline). My kids were struggling with footwork. Instead of doing this drill later in practice, I stopped the game of football basketball and did this drill. It made a huge difference! The boys showed a huge improvement in their footwork! Thank you!

    Great drill coach! Quick question how many times do you recommend each group do each pass?

    • @CoachAshworth
      @CoachAshworth  Год назад +1

      Depends on how big your group is.
      We try to do each pass at least 3 times. But if a smaller group 5 is probably a good number of passes

    I do think training helps but i think you need the iq for passing.I mean you could develop great passing skills but if you dont have the talent you will turn the ball over all the time.
    I have always been a phenomenal passer in both football and basketball and i dont even play football i cant explain why.I see all the tight spaces and i understand naturally in what spot the ball needs to bounce and what sec i need to throw the ball to reach my teammate.Why?I have been wondering all of my life.Should i visit a doctor or something?
