    I used flex seal tape to repair mine. I used a scrap peice no bigger than a quarter, took it to home depot and had the paint to match the siding. Painted the flex seal tape. 5 years later it is still standing tall. You will never notice.
    Problem solved.

    • @AdedoyinOyelaran
      @AdedoyinOyelaran 2 месяца назад +1

      @@justinstevenson2061 true. 1. You can get lucky and your local supplier might have a few pieces leftover from a job that just so happen to match your original siding. 2. To buy siding, you have to buy by the box (called a “Square”). Each square has ~24-30 pieces. 3. I know because I ask looking desperately now for replacement pieces and striking out big time.

    • @justinstevenson2061
      @justinstevenson2061 2 месяца назад

      @@AdedoyinOyelaran depends where you are and where you look. I have a distributor near me that can order from several manufacturers warehouses. So they will have same day availability if you want to opt for pick up.
      In a few cases where it wasnt available same day, it can be ordered in. and thats meaning the manufacturers warehouse didnt have it, but they can order it from another warehouse or even production plant etc.
      Also sometimes yes you have to buy a full box (usually 100sft which yes roofing/siding guys call a square).
      But i have matched 40 yr old aluminum siding through them. Also they have colour swatches from several different manufacturers, and sometimes you can find a close enough match from a different company than whats on your house.
      Those little red 'siding removal tools' are your best friend. pretty well every box store carries them. Just plug your holes from nails pulled, tuck tape if tyvek maybe go caulk if black felt.
      Besides ladder and heights its not too hard. also get the yellow rubber ladder tips, massively increases safety on the ladder on the siding.
      or the stand off bars which also have rubber tips, but also bring you away from the wall so you dont have to lean back as much.

    a little water (like a few drops) with a little bit of white paint mixed in will help lighten the color of your paint. Just do a small batch, and paint a little on something else that is spare piece plastic, and let dry to see if it better matches your siding before painting. You gotta let paint dry to get the actual finish color.

    Amazon repair kit, quart of paint, and paint sponge. Could have just bought a panel of DL4 Natural Clay siding. The gap left on the overlap is just as problematic as the holes. Each siding manufacturer has their own specific locking system. There is a serial number on each panel locking system that inicates color and manufacture to match new panel with existing panels.
