being cajun and from louisiana this video makes me so proud. thank you matty for coming down here and showing some of the beauty of our state. that gumbo looked like nothing i've ever seen lol but i'm sure it was still good. most of the time, the only meats that gumbo has is chicken and sausage. i'm headed to nola tomorrow and will definitely be on the lookout for the bonafried truck. that looked delicious!
@@Outkast3535 a bit thicker with a darker roux. The roux is made different than what he did, we use flour in it (almost like a gravy). Chef Toups on RUclips will give you a good idea of how we do it generally (every gumbo in LA is slightly different). Tend to make it straight seafood or straight land animals, as mixing them muddles the flavor of the meat. Just my two cents from a LA boy lol

Avery island is awesome! I went with my now ex but it was an awesome experience and the in depth tour like you did is amazing! Would recommend anyone to take it and grab some merch because it really is an awesome time and the people are so great!🙌🏻

Someone donated their jug to me at a huge camp gathering to help make some spicy peanut Thai noodles (which Sriracha is honestly better for) but it helped us feed 100 hungry hobo nomads on Christmas day. Felt very gratifying to use
