lovely walk, i lived at 23 the causeway (3:00) for 9 years...live up the road now, but still cycle around the route you've walked :) it's the wolsingham show this weekend, hence the fair in the market place :) my lady's the same, not a fan of walking haha
Iv done that walk a few times now, love it! couldnt believe how much the caravan site has extended. Its also a good walk from Hamsterly Forrest to Wolsingham, fantastic if you like moorland.
never seen that before myself either...i know they sometimes let water out of the reservoirs to keep the rivers 'alive' when they're running very dry, but the reservoirs themselves are running dry too..

I’ve done a wolsingham circular walk that takes you past the elephant trees and Frosterley which is good and yes it took us along this field 😆

Iv never been to the show, Iv heard its really good.
I'm guessing with the work they are doing is stirring up the mud and the bales are acting like a filter.
