- This floor cushion only took an hour AND used up all my leftover fabrics that I didn't want to throw away. It's perhaps one of the most sustainable sewing projects I've ever done and I LOVE the final product.

"THERE ARE NO RUUUUULES!" The intrepid war cry of the inspired Maker! 😊
Your zipper installation method is ingenious! I can't wait to try it because I'm a bit terrified of putting them in. Thanks!
Ok, how many of us were shouting out ‘open the zipper’
Great cushion and amazing way to ‘hide’ scraps 😂
I think I shouted it myself AFTER saying I'd sew it up first. Duh moment for me!
You are a breath of fresh air
Have you tried washing the scrap filled cushion yet?
Most likely would have to unstuff lol
I love this so much , just had my dog have a phantom pregnancy 😢 she Def needs one and I just got a sewing machine ❤❤❤
I'd unstuff it, throw away the filling, and wash the cover. I'm sure by the time I need to wash it I'll have a metric ton of scraps again!
I made a faux velvet cushion to go with a chair I reupholstered, filled with all the threads and offcuts from my threadbin. Then I was gifted a serger and that makes more waste, so I need another item to stuff. I'm thinking a faux velvet octopus, to go with the chair.
I LOOOOOOVE the idea of using serger scraps for plushies!!! Such a great idea!!
I recently made a small cushion for my rocking chair with this same method (actually my cats use it more than I do).
It's easy, practical and a sustainable way to re-use fabric 😊
Those are my favorite three words!!
Can i be your video editor ma'am?👀✨
That all depends if she wants to pay someone to do it for her. But it’s free because she’s doing it herself.
This is how I install zips!!!
It's the best way!!
@@KatieMakesStuff I even do this when a pattern calls for an invisible zip. I don't care if my skirts have a barely visible zip 😁
I've even used fabric (?) glue to hold the zip in place before sewing
Oooh yes, i love the idea of filling a cushion with scraps as you go. That cushion turned out great :D
I really love it! I also have some waterproof ripstop nylon that could make a good outdoor cushion (but not like getting rained on outdoor, more like covered porch outdoor)! 🤣
@@KatieMakesStuffoh yessssss, that would be awesome :D
