- The Diesel Brothers invited me to Experience their Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk as we flew across Southern Florida from Sarasota & Key West. While I was in the Bahamas with @Howe2Live the Diesel Brothers (Dave Sparks) Got in contact with me and we discussed that I was a FAA Certified A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) and he discussed with his Co-Pilot Ryan that I could assist with their Daily flight inspections for the Blackhawk. I was invited to meet with them at @CleetusM #Freedomfactory for the #freedom500. After final prep for Dave Sparks Crown vic during the race, we watched the Freedom500 won by @JHDieseland4X4 . After the Freedom500, Shenanigans may or may not have taken place, I may or may not have witnessed Travis Pastrana & Tim Kennedy entering/exiting the Helicopter at night.

My pops was a test pilot for Lockheed reset program in Savannah in the 90’s..He loved the Blackhawk! He brought the first hawks into ft brag in the late 70’s.
We probably worked together as I was at HAAF for a while!
I work and live in the Hsv, Al too. I also have a SS 1LE.. love the platform!
That's BADASS!!! As soon as I can catch up on my workload, my ZLE is going to be totally upgraded for the trackdays over the summer!! Stay Tuned as I truly breakdown the cooling and oiling systems with very detailed info on how they function.

This isn't the only
Privately/ civilian owned uh-60. There are a bunch of private companies all over the US who use the uh-60 for utility work and fighter fighting.
Yes, private companies using them within RESTRICTED FAA category for service work... not personal, individual private use in the Experimental Category. This is the only one and the FAA is having to create all new maintenance timeline requirements as this has never been done with one of these. Things like the tailrotor retention bolts have to be replaced on the military Blackhawk every 250 hours and they are over $1800 each... times six!
