Have you been on multi-day treks with camera gear? How do you carry all of your stuff??

It’s not just so much easier for carrying your camera. Using your camera without a strap is so much nicer as far as handling and ergonomics go. In fact it was getting a new backpack, which meant that it was easier to take my shoulder strap off the camera and the improved experience using my camera without a strap, made me seek an alternative way to carry my camera. I ended up with a Nitze clip and I would never go back. I truly recommend taking the strap off your camera and look for an alternative way to carry it without a strap.

I do not do multi-day treks but do day hikings. I have tried tons of backpacks from Lowepro, Peak Design, Wandrd to Shimoda. They were either too heavy, too bulky or the carry systems were like crap. None of those can compare to the comfort of carrying a "real" trekking/hiking backpacks. I end up using a Deuter backpack and Mystery Ranch Urban Assault interchangeably, and use a PD capture clip for carrying the camera, and it is so effecient. The Mystery Ranch Urban Assault even has a zipper goes down to the bottom of the bag which is easy for me to access the stuffs inside, and I can have the camera always ready for access with the PD clip.
Yeah, serious trekking/hiking bag + PD Capture clip is the way to go!

🇨🇦/🇺🇸... The frustration with that mount is that I really like my "L-Bracket" with the Arca Swiss rail base to it. I have the Peak Design travel tripod but overall I'm not a huge fan of it. That little SQUARE hangin' out on the bottom of my camera, in my mind, is not the best design! And so, I have to keep looking. :-/ Cheers, bro!

How many pounds are camera mounting holes designed for though 😬? I'd be quite worried to carry the camera like that. I'm not sure camera manufacturers expect this kind of use. You don't usually have dynamic pulling forces on tripod. It might be quite useful when changing lenses though, I always miss my third hand when doing that.

That's a good question. I used this set up recently on a trip and it worked fine. It was great during a hike. Mind you I didn't carry a telephoto with this, my personal max was a 24-70mm

I've been using a PD capture clip with a Sony A7riva and a Sony 200-600 with no issues for nearly two years.

It is not good solution for backpack large Volume 90-100 L. Capture v3 is narrow for straps huge backpacks.

Yeah doesn't work on large backpacks

Do you have to use the plate that comes with the capture or you can use an L bracket?
