Story:
I / VIII The calling and the founding of the order
In the 12th century, amid the turmoil of the Crusades, the Brotherhood of the Knights Templar was formed in Jerusalem. Their goal was to protect pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.
II / VIII Probation and advancement
Their discipline and courage on the battlefield made them legendary warriors. They developed a network of fortresses and a financial system that spanned Europe and the Middle East.
III / VIII The threat from the king and pope
The order became one of the richest organizations of its time. However, with wealth also came envy. Kings and princes became increasingly suspicious.
IV / VIII The accusation
Friday, October 13, 1307 - Accused of heresy, blasphemy and other heinous crimes, King Philip had the Knights Templar arrested throughout France and cruelly tortured to force confessions.
V / VIII The Downfall
Many of the knights were burned at the stake and the Templars' wealth was confiscated. The last Grand Master of the Templar Order, Jacques de Molay, was executed in Paris on March 18, 1314.

According to legend, the last Grand Master appeared to a knight the night after his execution. He predicted the return of the Templars in 1,000 years.
