This is a vide where I showcase my design for a 3D printed Puddle Jumper from Stargate with retractable pods. It will be printed and shown how it all works.
Guys, i know the group download on the thingiverse gives 404 error. No idea why, just download each file separately, that works. And it is not that many files.... Thanks ;)
@@Em.P14 well i certainly can do that, but the issue with the 404 will still remain. I am actually printing a second jumper now and I made few modifications to the files so once it is printed and checked, I plan to remove the current files and replace them with the new ones
So cool. From the pics, I thought it was way smaller than that. Got my printer and started running the test prints. Can't wait to try my hand at some of these incredible designs. Kudos for the epic work.
should make a version with an Iris, when the Iris open, a spring loaded system throw the jumper toward the person standing in front of the gate. Garanted jump scare ;)
Very cool! I've just finished adapting all parts of the puddle jumper for the resin print. I also divided the front screen into two parts and provided it with additional connectors so that the screen can be printed with transparent resin. If the print works completely as desired, then I'll make it available as a remake on thingiverse. Regards TFK
It would be a cool diorama. The jumper coming out of the gate all wings extended, jumper and gate suspended by thin wires in mid air, the models lite up internaly..
Hey martin the gate is on printables and thingaverse correct? I am currently printing this one after two trek ships and doing the full size version with a little repainting. With regards to the large gate did you plan to model any type of stand? I am debating on a diaroma of the gate and the puddle jumper but just started learning 360 so have a LONG time to go lol
This is amazing work. What layer height was used in this print? If it weren't for the sound when you're connecting pieces I would think it's mold injected plastic, lol. Very nice.
Hi looks amazing. For the pods sections is it possible to design retractable arms that slide into one another. the same design used for the engines. That way the wing arms will be symmetrical?
I actually printed it simply scaled down. Not the best Idea actually because the tolerances get very tight. So yeah. Printing full scale now. Just thought to comment here so other people with that idea don't make the same mistakes. While yes the relative tolerances of the connection points are the same. The absolut ones aren't. And printing at half the size you will probably like me hit the point where the detail the printer can print will not be sufficient to make the joints work as intended.
@@martintaichl The file on Thingiverse has a 404 error when I tried downloading it. I was wondering if you can look into that to find out why there is an error. I cant wait to print this one. You have an amazing talent to print complex models in a way that each part does not have many supports. Cant wait to see what you do in the future.
@@martintaichl i had the fortune to learn it in school but every company i tried to apply (how do you say it again when you write to a company and ask for a job ?) only uses solidworks inventor.

can you make a zip folder with all parts inside of it and ad it to the files onlie ? that would make things a lot easier

Any chance of a stand for this model its so awesome :)
Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the video.
Printing it now. Thanks do much for this model. Well done.
You are most welcome
Startes printing the the first Parts. Great Files, Awesome Work. Trank you so much

Thank you. Yes, the jumper is bigger then i expeted. Bit it is designet to nicely fit through my gate 😉
Great job looks great. Excellent work.
I just discover your youtube channel from à facebook post on stargate fan..you did amazing work thank you so much ..
Thank you. I do appreciate it ;)
Oh my, that"s an amazing work! Thanks!!!
No, I thank you ;)

The model looks good, definitely something I have to print myself
feel free to do so ;)
Very nice work! Big thank you 😊

I was thinking about it as well
It's HUGE! :) Cool.
I was wondering, how would it be made by Martin Taichl after I saw James W Robbins Puddle Jumper.
Outstanding work!
thanks ;)
I'd love a version that has an stl file to laser cut an acrylic windshield and be able to see the interior

Nope. The big gate was designed from the start as a wall hanger. The small gates are indeed on both printables and thingiverse.

Hello. I use standart height of 0,15mm per layer.

Thabks. I am not sure i understand you

Lovely model. Cicking the 'Download all Files' button though gives a 404 error

Thanks

Great work again Martin. i have printed the F302 and will be uploading my video of it soon. Will you be uploading this one to Thingiverse?
Thanks. Sure i will. Tomorrow
