thanks for the video the only thing I did different is cut the pin in half because had little room for shaving the top with my metal cutting blade, the smaller blade is better. thanks
Thank you soooo much I replaced pin and gromit's 2006 Scion XB only suggestion you will need at least two helpers to line up pins DO NOT ATTEMPT ALONE!!!!!! SUPER EASY WITH HELP SAVE YOUR MONEY DO IT YOURSELF
so everything where i try to check that dorman kit, it says "lower only, will do both doors". which makes very little sense to me. stock pins look identical size and length. I'm assuming you had no issues using the one kit to do both pins on the one door? (P.S. great video, you did exactly what i figured I'd have to do. really nice to see someone else do it first so i know I'm on the right track. gotta always keep those worn down discs for when you gotta get in a tight spot that new ones are way too big for :) )
Why would it not work to just use a multi tool to cut the top of the hinge off and if someone is holding the door then why rip the door panel off and go through all of that? Just do one at a time while someone holds the door. It’s not rocket surgery.
You might want to state that this is brand-specific and probably model and year specific, and state clearly what the vehicle is. Maybe you could even put that in the title? For example, Chevy and Ford and Dodge use a different system than this (for one, the Chevy hinges from about 1990 are welded on, and replacing pins and bushings won't do you any good, they'll just wear out again in six months to a year due to a very poor design
he did say what year and model it was and he said that this kit was for the year range of this and another vehicle... maybe you should listen to what he says.
yup, was pretty clear right at the beginning that it was an 02 tundra. and what range they believed the kit covered. actually included a lot more than most videos. product number for the dorman replacements, showed the package (i have one sitting in my truck ready for the repair, same packaging and everything) +1 great video
Just realized mine are sagging. 04 Tundra So glad I found this before I went and paid for new hinge assemblies! I appreciate the video!
Thanks for this video. This is just what my 03 Tundra needs. As soon as I can get my hands on a grinder I'm going for it.
Bought these pins, realized I had to grind out the old ones. Ordered genuine Nissan hinges, $27 total for top and bottom . Bolt on and go
Thank you! Your video helped alot! I never knew this thing can be fixed
Thanks man need to replace driver side won't close right, perfect how to vid thanks 👍
Good video, I did this job yesterday in 2005 Nissan Frontier LE, almost the same door hinge, thank you!
Did you do the same as this video or did you take the fender off?

Would you reccomend any small amount of lube on the pin before driving the pin through the new bushings?
Sweet
..thanks
Thanks 👍
i wonder if these pins would work on my 1994 toyota previa, it's saggin bad
What about the little copper bushings?
This is happening with my Corolla right now. Makes a knocking sound while shut because the door is loose
Awesome job! Will you be doing more videos like this?
what bout in a 97 camaro on the lower driverside would the same thing apply
