My god this video gets a lot of stuff wrong...
    1. MBTI is not a test. It's a theory, and the types are part of it. The online tests are NOT part of MBTI.
    2. Intuition doesn't mean imagination, and Sensing doesn't mean being logical and practical. N means perceiving the world through concepts and abstractions, and S means perceiving the world through observing or feeling concrete information
    3. The types are not just one trait!

My most dominant type is INFP. However my function stack relative dominance order most likely looks like: Fi, Ni, Ti, Ne, Fe, Si, Se, Te. Not like Fi, Ne, Si, Te, Fe, Ni, Se, Ti as one might expect.
My other less dominant types seem to be ENTP, INTP, INFJ, ENFP and ISFP.
Things are not as qualitatively four dimensional as one might think when it comes to MBTI, there are more dimensions and caveats involved, perhaps eight quantitative dimensions are enough though.

I also love, have befriended and sort of date someone whose most dominant type is INFJ, but who most likely has a differing function stack as well.
Really weird, wise and special human, which is much appreciated by me in this far too "normal" world, where sickness and control is often deceptively regarded as health and freedom, and vice versa.
I am in steady communication with her, so this is no mere limerence, more like taking the necessary time to get to know each other and fix various issues on our own, while checking compatibility, before seriously entering something romantic. This is a clear improvement, compared to my previous heart-breakingly failed romances.
I always befriend or fall in love with someone's energy, before their appearance gets relevant. The inner glow of the soul is what lights up the body into beauty. True beauty comes from within, literally speaking, even though most other meaningful truths are allegorical in nature. I know for a fact (personal direct experience) that life is more than the physical.

I've taken these tests a few different times over the years and always fallen between INTJ and ISTJ. One of the tests also had a comprehensive IQ Left/Right brained analysis to analyze what parts of the brain you use most. Which was pretty interesting. Mine came up as 52% Right, 48% Left with a strong focus on intuition, imagination, creativity, spacial awareness, logic, and analytics with an overall score of 167.
Not sure what to make of it all, but it was interesting at the least. The IQ part of the test was certainly different, nothing like any test I ever took back in grade school K-12. Rather than a test of acquired knowledge, a test of how your mind performs at doing different tasks.
At the end of it all I got all my results, a long with a bunch of suggestions for careers and hobbies suited to my mindset, and a recommendation to retake the test after 5 years or so.
Normally I don't think or care about this stuff to much, I take it with a grain of salt. But it randomly got brought up in a conversation I was having earlier, so here I am.

Here's the thing about IQ numbers, the total doesn't really mean anything. That's because you can be quite superior in one area and not so much in another. These are not meant to be stagnant, and are not even considered accurate until older than age 30 for just that reason. Our personalities are not fully formed until 30 and then can evolve over time due to life circumstances. The healthiest score on this test is to be right down the middle of each pair, e.g. equally extrovert as introvert. That's a balanced, well-rounded person! I am well balanced for Ext vs Int, and also Thinking vs Feeling... but my other two domains are practically off the charts for Intuition and Perceiving... so much for well-balanced!!

our type stays the same. If you are an INFJ you are Ni dominant and Fe secondary, with a developed or under developed Ti. It seems you are basing this on 16p wich is not mbti. Easy. The strongest function of INFP is Fi and the strongest extraverted function is Ne. For INFJ the strongest function is Ni and the strongest extraverted function is Fe.
So, are you mostly a feeler or mostly an intuitive? Also, is your feeling more introverted or more extraverted? And is your intuition more introverted or more extraverted? When you are stressed out or upset, do you go into a Fi, Si loop or into a Ni, Ti loop? Please check out cognitive function stacks if you haven't already done so!
Usually the main functions of INFP are Fi, Ne, Si, Te, and the shadow functions are Fe, Ni, Se, Ti. And usually the main functions of INFJ are Ni, Fe, Ti, Se, and the shadow functions are Ne, Fi, Te, Si.

@@z5301 A bit on the negative side, but yeah, pretty accurate.
Otherwise P types have a Prospective (iNtuition or Sensing) function as their most dominant *extraverted* cognitive function, while J types have a Judging (Thinking or Feeling) function as their most dominant *extraverted* cognitive function.
For extraverted types, their most dominant cognitive function is the same as their P or J type.
For introverted types, usually their most dominant cognitive function is the opposite of their P or J type.
This is because dominant *introverted* functions do not influence our external behaviour as Prospective or Judging types as much as our *extraverted* functions do.

@janach1305 I thought the same thing. I am 65 years of age , back when I was younger, my friends and I would read the horoscopes and just have fun with it, more for entertainment.
      I never took it seriously.
I started seeing this everywhere so I did my due diligence.
Carl Jung made so much sense in his findings. I wish I would have known about this when I was younger. This is spot on I'm here to tell you. I'm a leader rather than a follower I don't buy into stuff I don't have a b******* filter . Just too much to list so spot on it's scary humor yourself and take the test. The actual test is so darn expensive but they do have a comparable one that's pretty much just like it just have an open mind and answer the question on how you perceive yourself in situations and not how you think others see you. I am an infj. I always felt different it wasn't necessary to be in a relationship all the time I love my alone time it was almost like it gave me an instruction manual on how to operate in this game of life. I didn't have anything to lose, but I ended up gaining so much. I can remember my daughter came home one day and said hey Mom you know what I heard?
" Minds are like umbrellas, they operate best when open"
If you've ever been into psychology it'll speak volumes to you. If not try focusing on the similarities. Major high dollar companies would never invest that kind of money in order to find out if you're the right candidate for the position at hand or if you're right for the promotion. I took the test 3 years ago and for the first time I have an understanding of myself that I never did before I'm very comfortable in my skin today. The core properties of mbti (cognitive functions) developed by carl jung are what you should look into if you really want to go down this rabit hole of personality type. The problem with mbti and pretty much any online personality test is the fact the it is not objective. We are commonly mistyped because of our unconscious biases to how we think we behave vs how we actually do. With that said taking the test multiple times will not help you. Learn the cognitive functions; Ti,Se,Ne... it's will help you immensely with understanding people and the reasons behind their behaviour. There are a lot of good channels of YT. The ones I'd reccomend the most would be (asurapsych) and (objective personality)

I took a MBTI test at my college and got INFJ. I took it again a few years later out of curiosity and got INFP, then again several more years after and got INFJ again. It does seem pretty consistent, within it's scope, at least - even though I'm still pretty skeptical of it. I learned recently that intelligence agencies in the US use MBTI for screening, which is interesting. I learned it from here for citation: (/watch?v=wHTDAAZo63U). So it seems to have some merit.

    • @samjcdrums4019
      @samjcdrums4019 Год назад +6

Have you tried researching the base for MBTI? It's rooted in Carl Jung's ideas of the cognitive functions. His ideas are based loosely on the idea that whilst all people are capable of using every function of cognition, certain people will be inclined towards certain functions. This manifests in a way where people are both inclined to operate in a certain way and also good at operating in that way. Also that people are inclined to not act in a certain way and are also not as good as others when operating in that way. Using the word act loosely.
The preferences people can have for their own functions can differ based on circumstances, like strength and open-mindedness. But the structure which makes up their unconscious cognitive preference is maintained and consistent.
The ideas behind how these functions develop is also fairly consistent from person to person. It suggests that once people reach the age of 25, that they begin to develop the function which counters their 2nd preference (for an INTP this would be their main method of sensing, which would counter their intuition). This enables people to become more balanced and stable once they reach adulthood, which is consistent with the idea that people should be only considered adults once they reach 25, which is an emerging idea.
I think back to when I was leaving school and the chaos in those around me. I found myself thinking how are these people ever going to become functioning adults? I think the responsibility of adulthood is certainly a factor but also that people in this way inherently become more balanced and stable as they get older, which makes wider society in turn much more stable than one would expect when seeing them as late adolescents.

More research indeed and MB should only be used as supplementary material to the lowest common denominator offered by Hippocrates
      2 introverts
Super introvert phlegmatic who internalizes an outward material focus
Ordinary Melancholy introvert who internalizes the inside world of the abstract and emotions
Ordinary Extrovert Choleric who has an external response to an external focus
Super Extrovert Sanguine has an inner focus like Melancholy, difference being the sanguines external activities are based on the inspiration and dreams of their inner focus
Meyer's Briggs and all others can only expand and compliment Hippocrates base four lowest common denominator
PS before speaking my opinion , I spent every day of the past 47 years observing and learning what is our reality
We all have portions of all four base temperaments
What predominates offers the personality spectrum
I am approximately 40% melancholy dominant 30% sanguine ( this includes all INFJ) l am also 20 % choleric which makes me INFJa and least I am 10 % phlegmatic
      We all have all four
      Infp phlegmatic dominant melancholy auxiliary
INTJ melancholy dominant and phlegmatic auxiliary
Intp phlegmatic dominant and sanguine auxiliary

The last dimension is where a lot of debates happen, because introverts have their dominant functions switched with J or P (INFJs have a perceiving function as their dominant while it's a judging type).

I think the biggest problem is that so many of these types can co-exist in one person. Like horoscope descriptions, most of these models fit the multiple facets of my life and personality. Maybe the producers of this video realized this when they included images of the same people (Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Elon Musk, etc.) accompanying the descriptions of multiple personality types.
And by the way, I wasn't aware that William Shakespeare and Eleanor Roosevelt took the test.
