    I’ve had this meal before and I usually try to halve or quarter the potatoes as I like to have plenty of crispy edges on my roasties, which also helps to prevent under done potatoes as well as giving the appearance of a larger portion.

      Looks better than a Toby carvery tbh! I don't all the extras they serve there, just carrots, peas, roast potatoes and some other veg. There beef is always over done so this is probably better. I would make some mash to go on side and maybe do some braised leeks in Jersey salted butter!

      These small meals are ideal for a lunchtime but to do that meal properly the yorkie would have to be plate sized and filled with the other bits and pieces. Horseradish and mint sauce, hmm, not sure if I could do that, but each to their own. Best wishes from North Cheshire almost Lancashire.

Thats how I cook Brisket in my ninja foodi then just air fry it about 6mins after to give it colour, it melts in the mouth.

    Put the little Yorkshire Pudding under the grill for a couple of minutes, turning half way through.
    It makes it nice and crispy instead of kinda soggy when you put it back in the microwave.

    I haven't had or even seen mint sauce for years but I equated it with roast lamb. That's what my family always had it with. Then some bright spark thought we should replace mint sauce with mint jelly which I can't stand. I guess it's different in the UK.

      @sarahstrong7174 Год назад +2

      In the U.K. we have mint sauce & mint jelly. You can easily make your own mint sauce if you can get fresh mint, which can be grown in a pot. Just finely chop or grind up a handfull of mint leaves, add a spoonful of sugar, a spoonful of Apple Cider Vinegar, & pinch of salt & a spoonful of water, mix thoroughly & then adjust the preportion of ingredients till it is as you like.

      @@sarahstrong7174 Doesn't sound too difficult I can try this. Ah is that teaspoons or table spoons? Cheers.

      I agree with Sarah there. Dead easy to make with fresh mint (possible with dried mint but a poor substitute). Never thought of the dash of salt though. Teaspoons or bigger ones? I think it depends on the amount you want to make. You can pretty much do it by eye, you'll see when the consistency looks right and try a bit to taste.

    • @sarahstrong7174
      @sarahstrong7174 Год назад +1

      @@KingFahtah Well maybe start with teaspoons & then taste it & adjust the amounts to your own taste. The salt is optional, so you can try it without first.

      Best way with mint jelly is 20min before you take the lamb out of the oven is to coat all over with a pastry brush then put it back in on a slightly higher shelf and it will form a crackling glaze

    Aye they do a Roast Beef and a Roast Chicken Dinner, looks like they've updated the packageing and called it "New." I used to buy them regularly, liked them but agree with other commenters the portion size wouldn't feed an adult, I used to buy a wee packet of roast beef slices from the deli section and add it to the dinner. I always do the potatoes and Yorkshire Pudd in the air fryer, veg and meat in the microwave. Won't be buying so often now though since they've bumped the price up. Used to be around £2.69

      Retailers are a cunning bunch. They always try it on. One trick is to remove a product deliberately for a few months, then reintroduce the same product with a New sticker on.
