this feels like a channel 4 documentary wow! keep up the good work
Thank you so so much! This was a lovely message 😊
I totally agree! I’m blown away by the production. This channel will grow quickly. 😀
I was thinking the same thing!!!
Aww thanks mate! 🥰
THANK YOU 🥰🥰🥰
Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised youtube recommended this to me! Production quality was on par with much bigger channels - can't believe you aren't more established; keep doing what you're doing and it wont take long though. Good job! :)
You don't know what it means to me, to open RUclips and see a comment like this!
@shereece_marc of course! It might take a while, it might not, but you will be popular for sure. You have the concepts, the charisma and editing skills of someone with way more time in the game - maybe you have a background in this already, I'm not sure but either way you got a sub and my support from here on out! Keep it up 😁
Thank you so much! I love filming and editing so this is perfect practice. But no background in it 🥰
Yes, totally agree, great quality! Shereece your voice-over sounded like a tv-show. :)
🥰🥰🥰🥰 THANK YOUUUUUU!!!
This feels like a channel 4 programme, you can really see the effort you’ve put into the video.
Thank you so much!!! I love documentaries so this was such an amazing compliment 🥰
I was so surprised this was such a small channel! Such good quality content!
Heyyy, thanks so much for this comment! I’m just starting out so your lovely message means the world 🥰
I agree, camera work and sound well above average.
Wow, I can't believe this is your first video! Could easily have told me this was from a youtuber with 1 million or more subscribers and I wouldn't have blinked. Perfect length, no boring long bits, well done!!!
Aww thank you so much 🥹 I had a broken laptop so have been MIA for a while 😂 but your comment has made me so happy so thanks for taking the time out to be so lovely 🥰
I think more people need to see this video!! 👏👏👏 I hope your channel blows up because the quality of your content is excellent x
Aww thank you so much hunn! You’re so sweet! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Babes, you smashed the video quality and presentation skills! You are very charming and engaging. This could be on mainstream tv like a slot on this morning. Good work love xx
Awww!!! I totally missed this 🥹 that is so so sweet of you. Thanks for taking the time out to be so lovely 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Fair play to you! Great idea. Keep doing this and your channel with a bit of luck will make it. This could have been a BBC snippet. Top effort 👌🏻
Thank you so much for the lovely message!! That was such a compliment 🥰🥰🥰
RUclips recommended me this, love the quality , you deserve more followers and views , i loved the watch. :)
Aww thanks Beth!! That’s a really sweet message to wake up to 🥰
Smart price items are loss leaders, they often lose money from them just to get people in the store - that's why they're often out of stock. Once you're in the store to buy them you'll end up buying other things anyway so they're not bothered about being out of stock
And as for the quality, I find that even though some of the value things aren't AS good as the branded, they're 5x cheaper but definitely not 5x worse tasting so it's still soo worth the price
Great video! I could literally see you as a BBC presenter for this kind of show :D
WOW! I never even thought of this! If that’s true, that’s shocking. And you’re totally right, the price completely makes up for the slight poorer quality in taste.
And thank you!! 🥰 That means the world!!
Not me, I have a specific shopping list and will not deviate, if an item is unavailable I will just get another similar item from the cheaper range or get the same item from another supermarkets cheaper range.
Which supermarket do you usually shop at?
@@shereece_marc I shop at Sainsbury's 60% of the time, Asda 30% of the time and Tesco 10% of the time.
I assumed there would be much in the Sainsbury’s branded range. Definitely going to check that out!
The SmartPrice is Asda's super cheap range (like Value is for Tesco etc). For the ones where you didn't like the SmartPrice, you should still try Asda's own brand stuff that's still cheaper than name brand one's but can be much better than the cheapest ones. I think pasta sauce is one of those where I find the cheapest is really crap but the general own brand one can be pretty decent.
For me, I tend to go to Aldi for my main shop and if anything I can't get from there (which isn't much tbf) then I'll try that from a different store. One thing I can't do own brand for is chocolate though. Cadbury is still king for me 😬
Heyyy, that’s actually a really good idea I’d be interested seeing how much overall the ASDA branded things are compared to the just essentials/ smart price.
😂 I can’t argue with Cadburys, my poison is Galaxy though. But I will NEVER EVER switch out my Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire Puddings.. NEVER EVER. ✌🏽
I’ve never shopped at Aldi because it’s quite far from where I live but I’ve had soooo many people recommend it. I have to try it!
Aldi chocolate is nice
A few people have said this now. I’m definitely going to try it!
Underrated rah! only 632 subs? This is quality content 🎉
Haha, thanks! As I’m just starting out, the number of people who chose to subscribe already is blowing my mind! The RUclips community is so lovely 🥰
Amazing video! Can’t believe your channel is not larger. Great quality and informative. Wish you the best on your RUclips journey. ❤
Thank you so much! I’m just starting out but everyone has been so so lovely! Can’t wait to make moreeee
It is crazy how quality the cheapest stuff is. I will say I dont like cheap pasta sauce though, it just tastes artificially sweet and watered down Ive found, same with baked beans too. Luckily if you can afford it some herbs and tomato puree and even a splash of vinegar can make them much tastier
Edit - yeah the only problem with cheap eggs is they're usually caged ones. Sainsbury's do Stamford Street (they're cheap own brand stuff) eggs which are free range so hopefully all the other major supermarkets can get onboard with that, if they haven't done already
Really well made, would love to see you do other supermarkets - it feels like a lottery buying these ultra budget things, so it’s good to see a proper review of them and also more people getting these kind of shops so it’s not as stigmatised
Thank you! I would love to do other supermarkets and plan to. Doing it all in one go is such a good way to test as many items as possible and i really enjoyed it!
Honestly I get you with the feeling embarrassed but I think about it as I'm thinking smarter with money. Honestly there's no shame in buying cheaper food when most of them taste the same as the branded ones, but as you said there are some exceptions to that.
It was the strangest! I didn't even think about it before I stepped foot in the shop, but I got really self-conscious when the trolly started filling up. You're 10000% right, why pay more when you don't have to.
wow the quality of your video is like those of bigger channels, I thought you had over 100k subs !!! keep going ❤
Thank youuu! Trying my best 😂
I am from Germany and over here often times big companies are making the smart price products, just the label is different. So if you go to LIDL or Aldi, there are sooo many high-price companys selling cheaper-labeled things and its just the same. Maybe over in the UK its the same :) But happy you liked a lot of the smart price products and you said something very important for me: maybe I buy pricier things for the way they make me feel, too. Thank you for that.
I've heard those rumours over here too. I expected everything to be very salty or taste like nothing but I was so pleasantly surprised. I will be trying more shops for sure!
Agree 100%. I used to think "where did my money go?" every single month until I started shopping in Lidl. And, wow! So many good things in Lidl! Couldn't taste the difference at all with some of the items. I did it initially for 2 months and now I've implemented it permanently. Even though Lidl is a bit far from my house, I prefer to make the trip.
The trip is sometimes so worth it when you end up saving so much! But that’s the same with me Lidl and Aldi, they are really far from my home so it puts me off trying it but I’m going to soon because everyone raves about them!
Love Lidl and they do the £1.50 fruit and veg box which is amazing when trying to feed the family healthy food on a budget 😀
Whatttt a £1.50 fruit and veg box? I’ve never heard of that before!
This was an amazing video you explain everything so well !! Defo deserve more recognition on yt ❤️
Thank you so much!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Hey! Thank you for this video I think it’s so so important for us to explore these different ranges and the more of us who buy, the more likely they are to stay the same price.
Me and my partner have been trialling different essentials products for months now and there are so many permanent swaps we now buy week in, week out. I’m very aware that we’re fortunate enough to not have to rely on essentials ranges, however with money we save it means we can stretch to buying better quality/better welfare products for other things. Which is great! Overall the only huge gripe we ever had (him more than me I must add) was with the toilet roll. But honestly everything else we’ve tried has been brilliant! It’s a great range with loads of options, all at really good stable prices. Some things are worth getting a little bit creative with but especially the store cupboard essentials, crisps, cheese, squash, sweet treats and yoghurts they’re all solid 9-10/10! Thanks for making such an honest and genuine video ☺️xx
Hey hunn, I love hearing that other people have tried it too! Ohh I have to try the crisps. I was really sad they actually have removed some items that I bought now and their excuse is that they try and only keep the most popular items and replace the others instead of expanding the range. I’d love to see so many more items in the range!
And, thank you for your lovely words it really makes my day 🥰
The crisps are awful..!!!
What a wholesome video, I'm not much of a brand guy and i agree with 99% of your advise, observation and honesty. I struggle convincing my wife to give some cheaper options a chance and it's a shame, because it feels like a waste of money "just because".
Hi Shereece, hope you’re well? I’m a new subscriber and really enjoying your videos. Love this one! Really hope your channel continues to grow 💫. Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊.
Aww thank you Liam! That’s such a sweet message!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them ❤️ I’m having a great weekend so far and I hope yours is going well!!
The reason most of the smart price stuff is out of stock is because for alot of people switching isn't an option. They can't afford anything else, and if the cheapest one isn't there they can't afford anything else and have to go without
This is a great video you’ve really inspired me to give more products a go 👍 I’ve already switched to thinks like baked beans, pasta, Tomato ketchup & absolutely nothing wrong with them, Never feel embarrassed to buy cheaper food or feel that you have to explain yourself you saw the gaps on the shelf more & more people are turning to cheaper alternatives xXx
Thank you so much! 🥰 it was really handy trying so many in one go! And the empty shelves really surprised me. The price difference is incredible though.. hopefully they continue to extend their line 🤞🏽
The only thing I have with the cheapest option is that they're usually bulked out with sugar or salt. *Edit* A few examples below:
Asda just essentials white bread 0.32g of salt per slice vs Asda bakery white bread 0.26g of salt per slice. Asda just essentials spaghetti hoops 0.65g per ½ the tin vs Asda spaghetti loops 0.49g per ½ the tin.
Sainsburys also does a budget range if that is where you normally shop and also does an aldi price match. I am going to have another look at cheaper brands but as you rightly said sometimes you do get what you pay for
I’d be interested in seeing how big the range is and how it compares to ASDA! 🤔 investigation pending 😂
I love this. ❤ Feeling this is content, I'd watch on the telly. Well done! Subscribed.
This video is fantastic - properly informative (with both good and bad parts) and entertaining too. Plus you come across as friendly and funny.
Keep them coming,
Conor (Belfast) 😊
Aww thanks Conor 🥰 your comment means the world ❤️
@@shereece_marc ah, you're welcome! Keep the videos coming 😊
My laptop ironically broke 2 weeks after starting my channel 😂 typical. But I’ve just posted another x
@shereece_marc aww god love you! If it's any consolation I can break things just by being in the same room as them haha x
😂😂😂 you’re not the only one. My laptop fell off my low coffee table onto a thick fluffy rug and the whole screen broke. I would have accepted it if it fell down the stairs but that would be my luck x
Honest & from the heart
A direct approach approach
Good interesting video
Their Essentials Irish Stew is the Boss especially with added tinned carrots but they probably whipped them off the shelf quickly when they saw you entering the Asda store as they only sell it to fully fledged Irish people 🙃
😂😂😂😂 that must have been the case!
@@shereece_marc You can ask Asda and they will deny it but we all know the real truth about this
😂😂😂
Yeah, I do consume a lot of content like this and it was absolutely great to see more content like it. Great video, well deserving of a like and subscribe!
Thank you so much!! I find it so crazy to see the price difference. I never expected it to be so drastic
For sure! We used to be able to buy a whole 2-week shop for around £40, costs over £80 now.
I know!! It’s unbelievably crazy. You see things go up by 20p or 60p and not think too much of it until it’s a full shop and the total is way higher than usual. It’s so sad to see! On the plus side, we don’t have American supermarket prices. I don’t know how people live out there.
I found you randomly scrolling, but you have earned a subscriber today ❤❤❤
Ahh thank you that means a lot ❤️❤️
You could be on ITV or BBC. This was a quality video.
Thank you so much 😊😊😊
Ended up watching it rofl, our food shopping is cheap as all we eat is veggies, I eat fruit, my mum eats bread, I eat yogurt and kefir, we both eat meat, I buy Vita Brits or regular Weet Bix sometimes, it’s not very good for me so I don’t eat it often, gives me that glutened swollen eye feeling and I seem to get more pityriasis spots from it. I do have a medium allergy to wheat though, so I should probably stay away as often as I can.
My mum eats deli ham and ricotta cheese, I eat a certain bacon brand only, tried another one one time had to sip on Telfast throughout the day as the smoke used was really strong and I had massive histamine problems. I have histamine intolerance and from my symptoms towards food likely mast cell issues too. Have issues with smells too nowadays.
So I mean based on what we buy how much can you really spend? Rice and pasta and pasta sauce from time to time as we eat mostly the same things and it gets boring. We drink only water, mum can have more things but she said she sleeps better without those, me I react badly to even a piece of freeze dried coffee in a tall glass of water, even a smidgen makes me react.
Tea I stopped because it was giving me bad acid and I can’t have straight milk as I react to it, makes me very itchy. Can’t have sugar at all, glucose intolerance. My foods need to be the lowest fat possible most days and I can’t have regular cheese cause it gives me next day constipation and I’m slow to empty out so the pain goes on and on for days or even weeks until it finally clears out.
So yeah the short version of our foods, meat, veggies, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, sauce made from Polish stock cubes only, deli ham, ricotta, bread, some fruit, yogurts and a kefir, cereal rarely, water nothing else, Laughing Cow cheese cubes 56% reduced fat version, bacon.
I sometimes do snacks like avocado oil chips or brown rice chips, no yeast extract or sugar or any similar things, just the main ingredient, oil and salt. But these always cause me constipation after a few days of eating them, so I’m at the stage where I’m just going to stop buying them as it’s ridiculous.
I was always such a foodie, so I get massive cravings if I’m honest, especially for like chocolate, Nutella, peanut butter, ice cream and pizza, but yeah can’t eat any of those anymore, so the cravings end up leading me to getting really angry and frustrated with myself and crying in the end.
I suppose I should be happy to some degree that at least I got around 30 years out of my original diet, but to have this diet at 34 is too young in my opinion, I want to enjoy my food, scarcely do nowadays.
Oh, this sounds awful 😩 I’m so sorry you’re so limited! I can only imagine how frustrating it must be. I mean I can relate with not being able to eat some foods that I loved. I can’t eat one of my all time favourites tomato soup or any smoothie because my stomach will bloat and I’ll feel sick and veg bad reflux. Acid things in general aren’t great for me but it’s nothing compared to what you have to deal with! 😞
Asda essential range has some gems. Like the pure orange and the mince and onion. Broke single girl like me loves it. Never care what people think. IT IS FOOD. We all need it. People need to stop being snobs.
Great video, I do a mixture of Sainsbury's own food and branded items to keep the cost down, loved how you kept it real and honest are you planning on doing other supermarkets ? I subscribed so will watch out for your next one, good luck you did great x
Heyyy, I think you’ve got the best system! Even at the end of my video I was really surprised how cheap it still was when I subbed out the things I didn’t like. Thank you for the lovely feedback ❤️ I’m definitely doing some more soon! I’ve been desperate to get the cost of my food shopping down so these experiments are really helpful personally and I hope they are helpful for others in the same boat as me! x
I likexAsda, although im usually in the world food isle finding all sorts of stuff..i have tried some essentials range and the stuff i dont like i swap it around...❤ im going to subscribe to your cgannel as i think you deserve a lot more respect for this wonderful video ❤
Thank you so much for your kind comments 🥰 is the food in the world food aisle expensive? I can imagine because it’s specialist, it’s quite expensive.
I did a asda essential haul and i was pleasantly surprised most and i say most of the food items are perfectly fine and yes i totally felt the same stigma when i was in the shop i felt like all eyes were in me and my god i felt so uncomfortable 😊 me and my husband both agree the coffee is good 👍
I can’t tell enough people how AMAZING that coffee is. I’m still in shock 😂 I loveee hearing other people have done hauls too, what was your favourite? Or anything you would recommend?
I did my shopping on a Sunday so luckily there wasn’t that many people around but isn’t it so sad that we feel like that 😩 it completely caught me off guard.
@shereece_marc I started walking around the shop with my coat hood up my 2 boys were not bothered tho they loved going round the shop finding the 'yellow things' there's a few items that I will go back to - trifles are a winner chicken Kiev were good the crisps garlic bread raspberry roll cakes quiches are nice the coffee also like u I don't buy caged her eggs..I wouldn't buy the apple juice it taste like vinegar 😀
I just saw your reply… it was in a difference section I just discovered 😂
Haha, I’ll avoid the apple juice for sure now 😂 but thanks for the recommendations, I love a good Kiev. I never would have got them because I would have though the taste would be bland but so good to know! x
Great video, i really enjoyed your feedback on what you and your girlfriend liked and didn't.
Some of the things seem like a no brainer but you'll be surprised how many people turn their noses up at smart price stuff.
Pasta is the best example, its pasta! Doesn't taste and different then the expensive brand names 😂
But i do think Asda have done this to make people embarrassed about buying cheaper products that stand out more (no shame in it in my opinion)
Be proud to be saving money.
I'll take off my foil hat now and go eat smart price pasta some more 😊
New sub btw
Look forward to more in the future
You Rock girl. This channel is going to take off my love. Very good and you got skills xxx
Obviously you got another subscriber and I wish you joy, happiness and success.
🥹🥹🥹 you’re such a babe!! Thank you so much for being so lovely xxxxx I wish you all the happiness in the world ❤️
That cheap chocolate used to be 30p not long ago I used to get them when I was broke. They taste nice when your hungry or need a sugar rush.
I actually don’t mind most cheap chocolate. It’s basically advent calendar chocolate but this one tasted really funny! When was the last time you tried it?
omg this was such a fun video, cant believe you are a small channel
Awww thanks hunn 🥰 that’s really sweet xx
Community service announcement: Asda's 'Bistro' range has THE BEST Mac & Cheese. Only 50p more than the watery horrible standard 'no-name' Mac & Cheese all supermarkets sell. You can smell when it's cooking that this is superior Mac & Cheese, a whole different ball game. You're all very welcome! Please hand over that extra 50p-- life's too short for comfort food that just makes you cry with disappointment instead of makes you smile, to hell with guilt over eating ready made food on a rainy Sunday afternoon!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 This is brilliant! Mac & Cheese is SO easy to get wrong. I’ve never heard of the bistró range before.. sounds very M&S 😂 I’ll have to check it out!
@@shereece_marc Duuuude, you're so welcome. PS= Best apples in the supermarkets today are in M & S and Waitrose. Look for 'Smitten' apples and 'Envy' apples. Problem with following my dorky shopping suggestions here is that you will ruin yourself forever; you'll be unable to go back to sandy, tasteless apples every again. No apples compare. PPS= This is by far the most geriatric, dorky comment I've left in ages... 🤣🤷♀
😂😂😂😂 I’m so here for dorky comments 🤣
Smitten and Envy 😂 brilliant. I’m not sure I can afford to have my tastebuds stolen by apples from M&S.. I know when I’m in there I’m not leaving without some Colin the caterpillars and then it’s all down hill from there 😂
@@shereece_marc 😆 Yep girl, I know it. When their bakery is doing it's thing, oh god that buttery pastry cooking in the oven is like an olfactory siren song. I head straight there and wait for the tray to come out. On holiday abroad, one of my favourite things to do is check out the local supermarkets. I do this in every country and it never gets old. If you ever get a chance, when in Tokyo visit Isetan's Food Hall. I almost fainted from sensory overload and far too much choice to compute. I have now succeeded in outdoing my previous comment's dorkiness. Wahey, champion! Love your channel, keep posting! Everybody loves grocery shopping. So many quirky ideas for videos run through my head.👍✨✨
Such a small channel...quality content..superb...will share you..hope you get bigger xx
Thank you sooo much! It’s scary starting out but everyone has been so lovely it’s blown me away xxx
I am surprised that if you were a Sainsbury shopper you didn't start off this budget week by going for the Sainsbury budget food option. I have tried the Frozen Mince Hotpot, which for £1, is filling and tastes OK. Never going to be as good as home made but is quick and convenient. Interestingexperiment, which you will no doubt learn from.
Next challenge is to live for a week on the reduced price goods, whether they be 'End of Lines' i.e. clearance, going out of date products, or special price goods, e.g. Farmfoods have special priced goods to get people to shop there. Downside, you don't know what you are going to eat until you have it, and you may have to shop more often. Will you give it a go?
Hey Conor! Well.. I actually used to work on the check out for ASDA so I’ve always been curious. Besides that I guessed that Sainsbury’s cheaper range would still be more expensive that Just essentials so I wanted to try and do it as cheap as possible!
Those are some amazing ideas 😊 I’d definitely want to give them a try x
Well done. The results were surprising. Thank you for sharing. :)
The more you buy the cheaper brands the less u will care !! I love it
That’s a really good point! I can’t wait until the day I’m fully there x
Just essential might seem cheap but you save a lot. You get some of the just essential items for 30p too, long grain just essential 45p.
Bloody hell, your content is really fantastic quality, im subbed happily ❤
Aww this is such a sweet message thank you so much!! 😊
I was just wondering, if you shop at Sainsburys, why you didn't buy their own brand instead of going to Asda.
Hey Lisa, pure curiosity really! I used to work on the tills in ASDA and I thought it would be cheaper than Sainsbury’s but that’s a really good idea to try Sainsbury’s x
You are a good storyteller. Nice pace of video and good editing.
Thank you so much! I’m really enjoying learning!
SHE’S HERE
The smart price tuna and tinned stewing steak are nice. I also like the yellow label gravy, its better than the white carton.
Ohhh Tuna, that would have been a good shout. I don’t think I realised they had just essentials tuna! I’ll definitely try that next time!
The gravy scarred me for life, I don’t know if I can trust Asda again 😂
@@shereece_marc the one in yellow is OK.
I buy the tuna..it was 29 p a can so I got a whole box..!!!
A brilliantly made video. I love the Smart price cookies myself.
🥰 thank you!! I think they stopped selling the cookies 🥲 RAGING.
We tried this and like you, found some products good and some bad (the garlic bread) and the chicken soup is also bad. I was also embarrassed, what the heck is that about! And we didn’t carry on buying the cheap food, we went back to our old ways 🙈
Yeah, that garlic bread was tragic haha! I know the embarrassment is the strangest thing. When I got to the checkout, the lady's whole mood changed. She looked so over her shift and when she saw me she perked up, bless her. I don't think she wanted me to feel awkward or embarrassed.
What was it that sent you back to your old ways haha? I personally would never give up my Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings. Not. A. Single. Chance.
Excellent video, well done. This could have been on a main TV channel. If you like marmalade on your toast try Asda’s smart price nothing wrong with it.
🥹 Honestly this comment means the world! Thank you for taking the time out to be so lovely!! And oooh, I do like marmalade.. I much prefer jam but they sadly didn’t have a just essentials version :( ❤️
I bought some of the Co-op gravy granules recently to try after seeing Bisto Best was over £4. The Co-op version was 80p I think. It was horrible and didn't have any flavour. I checked the ingredients and there was no beef in it at all! - I ended up buying more Bisto Best (on offer) and have been making gravy up using 3 spoonfuls of Bisto + 1 spoonful of the Co-op one to use it up and it tastes fine
Ahh that’s actually such a good idea. I don’t know why I don’t get more adventurous with with mixing cheaper and more expensive brands together!!
It’s like swings and roundabouts in any shop, I noticed your lurpack butter, I have to say I would cross some thing off my list to buy “proper butter” I can change most things but not butter I always buy the one on offer either lurpack or anchor, nasty pretend butter ruins your sandwiches, in fact I love Aldi and lidl butter, I am Deffo going to try the coffee thanks for the video
I've been trying to lower my family's food spend, and love a good bargain, but I've found the Asda just essentials has been poor quality. Some I don't even put in the trolley after looking at the ingredients.
As for the coffee, I personally don't drink coffee, but I've heard a lot got good things about the M&S coffee at £1.25ish if people don't like the Asda one but still want to try a budget coffee.
Oh really!! What Asda products did you try? Did we try a lot of the same things? And come to think of it I didn’t check the ingredients at all but in all honestly I hardly do usually.
I am SO surprised that m&s do coffee for £1.25, i’m definitely going to try it!
Bear in mind that with all the money saved on the items you can happily substitute, then you will have extra money to put on the things which you prefer not to use the lower priced option. Thank you for the video!
No thank you for watching!!!
I think it’s all about getting the balance so I totally agree! If they ever get rid of the coffee I will cry 😂
Off topic (great video btw) but wheres the pink dragon netted top from that you're wearing at the end??! Love that
😂😂😂 hey!! Thank youuu ❤️ sorry to tell you this but it’s from Missguided but maybe try on vinted. Might be one knocking about x
Loved this vid keep up the great content just subscribed ❤️
Aww thank you!! 🥰
Great video. Looking forward to the next one. Well done
Thank you 🥰
The coffee surprised me, I've had to cutback but its always coffee which lets me down sadly
I know the coffee surprised me too!! I still can’t get over it 😂
Just came across your channel and this video is on point 👌 you seem like such a lovely person, subscribed 😊
Aww this comment is the sweetest and it means a lot! Thanks so much 🥰
I work for asda. I suggest you to try strabery cheescake by Just essential costs 80p. Money worthy cake 😃😃
ASDA's JUST ESSENTIALS is what i use for a couple of years. Its a shame that some items have been discontined like the soya milk
great video. I really wouldn't recommend living off these cheap foods (if you can afford to buy more expensive ones). They're packed full of 'filler' ingredients and chemicals to create the taste of more expensive brands that have higher concentrations of better ingredients. Also, you'll find that on the cheap range they have the minimal amounts possible of the main ingredients in order to keep the cost cheap, but in essence, you're not getting as many quality, filling ingredients and will eventually start eating a higher volume of food to compensate and start putting weight on. It's a sad fact, but definitely true.
Thank you! ❤️ That’s so interesting! I’ve not actually thought about that before. Im terrible for pretty much living off ready meals so looking at ingredients is something I actively avoid 😂
There's no a lot of smart price products left, so when you run out of coffee, get a few jars. Some things taste awful, but some are as good as the top brands.
I know right, I was really shocked.. especially by the coffee!
Even if most things are subbed for cheap options, there will always be savings.
Absolutely! I'm so glad I did this shop. Some branded items are still my guilty pleasures but overall the savings are way higher than I ever anticipated.
I buy the cheaper sauce as a base and just add to it same with the garlic bread .
That’s a good shout actually! The extra cheese on the pizza really made a huge difference! Maybe I need to be more creative next time!
Loved this!
Thank you so much ❤️
imma be honest. i have enough money to the point where I can eat brand name products every day of the week. but some products in just essentials?? I just find them better. so i buy them instead. whilst i feel extremely bad buying them because i feel like im taking away products from people that really do need them due to financial reasons. Im never going to be ashamed for doing it. at this point just essentials production sort of reached the point where it can satisfy the demand
It’s a tricky subject that divides opinions quite a bit. We are all trying to save money in all the little ways we can and we should have every right to. I think the responsibility should be on the shops to make/order more when they see increase in demand.
Make a video going to Lidl also loved this production was top quality ❤️❤️
Thank you!!! I’m DEFINITELY going to both Aldi and Lidl! ❤️
Glad I’ve come across your channel, Hoping to save cash myself! Xxxx
🥰 Thanks for taking the time to watch them! It’s my mission to get to a place where I have money left over at the end of the month and my debt is completely gone! My first goals anyway x
New sub . Are you still eating smart price now ? Great vlog x
I actually ended up looking up these products last night and the ingredients and reviews for each, seemed like price was a big problem for most reviews and also edibility and usability. Haven’t watched this yet, but when I have some time I will, gotta go eat now.
Hope you enjoyed your food! I’m not the fussiest of eaters but I feel like more people leave reviews when they have negative experiences than positive ones so I try and not be too guided by reviews and when prices are that low I can afford to take the risk 🥰
@@shereece_marc Love negative reviews though, I’ll admit that’s the ones I actually read. I do that for pet food too and been obsessed with reading ingredients and reviews about everything for more than 13 years now. Somedays I spend all day doing that, when I was researching pet food it was every single day for 10+ years, just imagine that haha. But you have to be committed in research or you won’t learn a thing. I loved it though, never once hated it. My food from memory was just the usual yogurts/kefir/apple with skin and water to start off with and than after that I have no idea, I forget a lot. I’ve always loved reading ingredients even as a kid, but as a kid I barely understood what I was reading.
In all honestly as an adult I still don’t understand what I’m reading on labels 😂 I definitely read reviews but I take them with a pinch of salt.
Since having ulcerative colitis I used to shop at Aldi now I don’t like any of the food from Aldi it’s my stomach it just won’t take it makes me sick so now we go to tesco and do a Aldi match in there the food taste so much better I am for saving money but if your stomach says no it’s got to be bad the Aldi crisps are like cardboard the cereals no taste at all so we’re as a family go to tesco and are happy with everything from there and a happy tummy and you can actually taste the food lovely 😊
I don’t know much about ulcerative colitis but I’m sorry it gets in the way of eating what you want! Hopefully it isn’t too painful?
I have never shopped in Aldi but I really want to try it, not that you were really selling it 😂 the cardboard crisps sound like an absolute treat lol. But I’m glad you found a shop that works for you and that you enjoy!
@@shereece_marc hi yes it’s very painful when your tummy hurts or your having a bad flare up
But thankyou for your kind words you shop and eat what’s best for you and your family take care
I’m sorry! I hope the flare ups aren’t too often. Sending you lots of love x
@@shereece_marc thankyou x
Loved this thank you xx
I’m so glad 🥰 if you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them ❤️
Hey just come across your video i get the just essentials Asda bake beans are amazing tastes just like Heinz bread 45p nothing wrong with it ❤
I personally don’t like beans but my partner also said the just essentials beans were great! I actually can’t believe that Heinz beans are about £1.50.. absolutely blows my mind!
Great video!
Thank you so much!!
Hello I'm new to your channel when I don't like an item I go up to the supermarket version instead of value one . I would love to see a video if u try that xx
Hey Kirsty, I’m new to my channel too 😂 that’s a great idea, thank you xxx
When you see a youtuber, who is going to have a big following.
Not sure I will be swapping out my nescafe Gold Bend for Just Essentials coffee, but Gold blend is so expensive at 7.25 for 200g😳😩
Haha awww thanks so much!
😂😂😂 you have to try it and for 99p, take the risk! I was really really surprised and that £7 makes me feel I’ll 😂
You need to be a TV presenter!
Aww thank you!! I love documentaries because I’m really nosey so I’m having the best time filming theses! ❤️
I didn't like the Just Essentials Cheese & Tomato Pizza at all that was the worst for me. I think I have bought six of your eight items that sucked (Don't like Garlic and don't buy Pasta Sauce), and they were mostly okay enough for me except for the Cheese & Bean Bakes which I got once and wasn't keen on, so didn't bother again.
I literally buy 80% of my shopping from the value ranges at Tesco, Asda & Sainsbury's all the time. There is always a quality value product just as good as the dearer brands from any one of these supermarkets sometimes all of them. I literally feel the opposite to you, I feel stupid buying dearer stuff when there is something waaaay cheaper that is perfectly fine. Personally I can easily afford the dearer brands but I just don't see the point in buying them, because I am perfectly happy with the cheaper stuff.
That’s amazing!! Have you always felt that way? I’m sure the more I do it, the more comfortable I’ll become but you’re totally right it makes no sense paying so much more for a miniature improvement in taste!
@@shereece_marc My mum was always looking for bargains and regularly bought the own brands growing up. I basically just carried over the same behaviour when I started shopping for myself. I figured if the food was good enough for me then why not now. I have actually found that with alot of stuff, I prefer the own brands to the name brands when I have had them when visiting others or others have given them to me when visiting me. Where some items are not as good, I just don't see the justification to pay so much more, even if the item is better. I have also noticed while the cost of living has gone up, branded items are going up at a much faster rate than own brand goods.
I couldn’t agree with you more. The prices of some things are beyond ridiculous now.
Isn’t it funny how we had complete different reactions to the same situation.
New subbie here! Great video. Feeling inspired!
Could we compare this to Lidl or Aldi?
Thank you 🙏
Heyyy! Thank you 🥰 I actually have a little something in the works as we speak 😊
@@shereece_marc excellent 👌
🥰🥰
I spend £17 a week on food but am mostly vegetarian and cook everything my self...but I must have nice coffee and tea. Cheap ones are awful.
Liked and subscribed 👍🏻
hey just found your channel from ohio usa
Heyyy!! Nice to E-meet you!
1:45 if you bring your own bags you can save even more money
Loved this video
I’m so glad! Thank you 🥰
It is nobody else's business what you are buying. No need for embarrassment. It is up to you what you buy.
Nice video ❤❤❤
Yes girl
Brand names should be ashamed of themselves. I will never have loyalty to profiteering brand names ever again.
Literally only commenting because this is the first time I’ve EVER seen someone spell their name the exact same way as me 😆 everybody always comments on the amount of E’s in my name or they spell their name with CH
😂😂😂😂 I’ve seen one other person (other than us) spelt our way. But I’ve seen other ways like Sherrise & Cherise.
We were almost going to be best friends until you spelt Reeci wrong 😂 if I’m feeling cute it’s Reecii. Can’t stand being call Ree Ree
😆 I used to HATE Ree Ree, but my little cousins that can’t say my full name get a pass. Now you know the correct spelling is Reecie 😂 The closest I’ve ever seen was the C replaced with an S, but I have also seen Charisse which had me like 🫤
😂😂😂 yeah you’re right, they can have a pass! Luckily most people settle with calling me Ree, which I don’t mind.. but Ree Ree 🙅🏽♀️
Wow first of all you are BEAUTIFUL and also the production on this is flawless. I really felt like I was watching a C4 documentary. This is so sooo well done!
nice really nice i want to try now 😄
😂😂 go for it! Let me know how you get on!
