- Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, I’ve got something very special for you- my longest ever video, and in this video we’ll be discussing what happened to ONE HUNDRED - that’s right, 100, different characters from Harry Potter AFTER the story had ended.
After the Battle of Hogwarts and the closing of the Deathly Hallows, we barely got a glimpse at what happened in the lives of the characters we grew to love (and in some instances, hate) so much.
But fortunately, thanks to extended lore, and a LOT of research on my part, I’ve got some answers for you guys.
This is already a LONG video so I won’t waste any more time, let’s dive in to it.

A video request-If you haven’t done one, how about explaining (if you know) or theorizing (if you haven’t been told or discovered) who made graves for the Potters, transported their bodies there, and erected tombstones for them? Presumably Dumbledore had a big part in that, but how about Snape, who quickly knew that Voldemort had betrayed him and Lily was dead? How about James’s group of friends?

Yeah I wonder how in the hell the wizarding world would still remain secret in this digital age. Memory charms could only do so much, and inevitably the wizarding world would be found out by the Internet.

Considering Slughorn gulped down a draught of Felix Felicis just before the Battle of Hogwarts it is no surprise that he survived.

I would have liked Dudley having a magical child. Having to tell his absolutely envious and controlling mother to f off. Having his dad kida change heart about magical people, after all Harry did turn out well after all and Dudley can do no wrong in Vernon's eyes. Getting something to bond with Harry over. And bringing him into a world one could see he was clearly interested in through all the bullying and acting out of his parents ideology.
I really think this is such an underrated comment!

23:10 I have chosen to believe that Aberforth Dumbledore fell in love with a Maledictus who had turned into a goat, but because of the bias against Maledicti in the Wizarding World it was safer to allow others to believe whatever they wished to believe.

Umbridge always gave me such Adolof Eichmann vibes, a sociopath trying to disguise themselves as a cog in the bureaucratic machine.
I like to think that Fenrir Greyback in particular was either killed outright in The Battle of Hogwarts or was executed by The Ministry afterwards. After all, he was a highly dangerous and well known criminal in his own right and easily the most infamous criminal in Britain after Voldemort himself.

@@ryanellis9325 Bellatrix was incarcerated prior to Voldemort's return and killed at The Battle of Hogwarts. The whole time she was imprisoned though Greyback was still a wanted criminal causing havoc.
I read somewhere that in Canon, fenrir was killed at the battle of hogwarts.
@@seanross8793In the books he is taken out by Ron and Neville. Honestly completely fair that Ron would kill him given what he wanted to do earlier in the books(trying to eat(at the very least) Hermione, scarring Bill Weasley in the previous book etc...)
I don't know if it says it when I listen to the books on tape it didn't sound like they specified but did lavender Brown die because of fenrir or was she alive? in the movie it looked as if she died but in the book it didn't sound like that...
Rita ended up becoming really famous in the muggle world when she wrote a book series about Harry's time at Hogwarts.

I mean, the Dumbledore boys had 5 names. Harry could have added one on if he didn't want to get rid of the others
Probably the idea is to keep the memory of the dead alive through his sons. Because Hagrid is still alive and still at Hogwarts, if I remeber it correctly, his Kids were able to Meet Hagrid by their own. What means the were able to here all the stories from him personally and create their own memories with Hagrid.

Luna and Harry seemed like a good 2nd pairing. Considering he also has an affinity for protecting animals.
I can see it but I always saw them more like siblings cause he always looked out for her and she did the same for him oddly enough and they learned from one another both having no siblings of their own
Harry and Luna made so much more sense to me, and that was reinforced by their chemistry in the movies
Didn't Rowling said she regrets not pairing Hermione and Harry together? When I was still small, I always wanted and thought harry and Hermione become lovers.
I thought Luna and Neville would be a couple myself.
How has no one given RON and Luna a shout out?! She's so patient with him and has the emotional intelligence to get Ron through the difficulties of losing a brother as she can relate as she lost her mother. They find each other funny, and their interactions are always positive. Ginny and Harry are too perfect to break up!

I always thought it would have been brilliant if at the end, when they're all on the platform sending their own children off to Hogwarts, we would have got a big surprise. We would see Duddley with his wizarding (or not) wife sending his own child off to Hogwarts and looking up at Harry with a new understanding, and a near loving even, smile. A bonus would have been to see Duddleys father proud as could be with his bushy mustache and all, fussing over his grand child who would be squirmimg around and trying to get away then maybe puts a pig tail on grandpa in frustration by accident, some spontaneous magic like Harry was known for when he was young.
Grandma would have had a canary. Petunia knows far more than she generally lets on about the wizarding world. Remember the thoughts Snape left for Harry.

I love this idea except for the the dudley's father part. Old prune was an adult man choosing to abuse a child left in his care. He does not deserve a happy ending or to be redeemed in anyway.

I personally have a twin brother and I can tell you that when twins stay together like George and Fred and develop that kind of relationship as brothers, it is literally like losing a part of yourself. I think that death actually shocked me the most
I am a mother to adult twins and I completely agree.
Yeah I lost my brother and it's the worst feeling in existence. Fred's death stood out to me the most cause I know George will be experiencing Hell
Technically, book Hermione didn't erase her parents memory, she altered them. Film Hermione used the Obliviate charm, which cannot be undone (a la Gilderoy Lockhart.)
I’m pretty sure or can be undone but Gilderoy had a powerful one that back fired from a broken wand which I think made it much more powerful

I can just image Ballatrix using that as a horrible torture on families and friends

@@merafirewing6591 Yes he did, but for obvious reasons Hermione cannot use the cruciatus curse on her parents until the memory charm breaks. Its easiest to assume she actually does the same as she does in the books, merely altering their memories with the full intention of restoring them, and obliviate was only used on screen as a generic, stand in memory charm that the audience would recognise.
Or alternatively she uses obliviate, and their memories cannot be restored. Which is really sad obviously, but to be fair would make the film version of Hermione more interesting, given how much less interesting she is in the movies compared to the books.
Seeing Reemus and Tonx lying next to each other got me so choked up. One of the saddest images I've ever seen😢
Lowkey Aberforth was a badass. Battled with Dumbledore and Grindelwald his whole life. Was losing to Grindelwald yes. But the fact he held his own for a second is crazy.

One of the Patil twins did die. The one that went with Harry to the ball. The other twin & the Divination prof was puttin a sheet over her face after the battle.
No, that was Lavender Brown. According to Potter Wiki, she and her sister lived.
I have to disagree with it being lavender Brown because I don't remember much of any information about lavender Brown after she was attacked and I just listened to the book on tape and I am pretty sure I would say 97% sure that one of the petil twins died

I believe that Voldermort when his body became destroyed turned into a Dementor himself and was doomed to wander limbo for all time since they could not be killed. This he did for eternity nether alive nor dead.

Just finished the books again. Peeves is mentioned in the epilog. Harry warns Albus to stay away from him.
fleur found bill first at the tri wizard tournament in the side room, and she was into him. they probably didnt speak though

Viktor Krum is literally one of my favorites in the books, and I really wish he had a return in Deathly Hallows ptII, he had such a good story and I really wished the movies gave him some more screen time
I like to think after retiring from Quiddish he would have made a great teacher at Hogswart like Transfiguration or Charms or something (since he did a great job transfiguring his head into a shark in "Goblet of Fire."
I wonder how long after the Battle of Hogwarts did the fighting last against the surviving Death Eaters that escaped?
Without holding any power I don't think they had very many places to hide. I'm sure they were all swept up within a couple of months!

I feel like Astoria's death and Albus's Boruto esque personality could easily be handwaved as more bad Cursed Child decisions that should be ignored.

I know he’s pretty much a non-factor in the story, but can you imagine how Oliver Wood was seen as a professional quidditch player leaving the sport to fight in a WAR AGAINST THE DARK LORD. I can only imagine his homecoming back to the field after being a literal warrior. It’s like an NBA player going to going to fight in a war and coming back to play. It’s insane to think about.

Did I miss Lavender Brown? In the book, her final appearance was a bit ambiguous, though the movie made it seem as though she was dead. Has Rowliing confirmed either way?

She was attacked by Fenrir Greyback and died from the wounds
@@Felipe-xt4id Bill Weasley was also attacked by Fenrir, but survived. It was never clearly stated in the book whether she died or not.
@@LyleFrancisDelp in the book it did state that fenrir was over her body and since J.K. Rowling had a say in the movies it’s safe to say either way Lavender didn’t make it.
Lockhart is so shameful he would’ve sacrificed those kids bc he was a coward I love how he lost his memories after taking others memories from them and making up false hero stories all his memories were lies she’s so smart and witty

Hagrid and Madame Maxime went on a journey together in harry potter and the order of the phoenix. They were send to talk to the giants and surprisingly found hagrids half brother Gwarp, which made them bond. Hagrid and her are still in contact

I think Nigel was actually collin creevy and they screwed it up in the movies
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but Hagrid is also half giant so it might effect his lifespan.
Except that Harry would be able to give testimony that Yaxley etc were active, willing Death Eaters who had returned to Voldemort when he called them when he regained his body during the Goblet of Fire.

I love the commentary and your insight on this movie in about the series I’m 58 years old and I love it so if there’s people out there that say they don’t like how you’re doing if you’re just going to suspicions or is this did this happen in another time or another time doesn’t matter to me I love everything you do. Was Florean Fortesque mentioned? They only say that he disappeared but it's never confirmed that he's dead as far as I remember. Great video. I never noticed it was over an hour. Time just flew by.
I always thought Hermonie MODIFIED her parents memories to having a strong desire to move to Australia and dno't remembering having a child.
She did, with the intention of finding them assuming she survives the war. According to Rowling she managed to track them down and restored their memories soon after the end of the fighting.

I love backstories, so when I wrote This Peculiar Magic, I delved into what life was like for the main character before heading to the academy to study and live with others like himself. We get to understand the feeling of being the only person, it seemed, with his "affliction."

Reginald Cattermole certainly wouldn't be fired for his involvement with the Death Eaters! If you'll recall, his wife was put on trial by the Muggle Born registration commission and was rescued by Harry and Hermoine. The real Reg turned up, which was bad for Ron, as he was impersonating Reg. Reg and his wife fled, but Harry and his friends only hoped they got away. If they did, then I can't imagine Reg going back to work for the people that tried to throw his wife in Azkaban , certainly not while the regime still lasted, as he would have been branded a traitor for helping his wife escape Azkaban.
Now Runcorn, on the other hand, appears to have sold out Dirk Creswell, and he appears to be in league with Yaxley. If he wasn't offed, for allowing Harry to escape and impersonate him, he was likely sacked, at the very least, for siding with the Death Eaters.

Not everyone who worked at the Ministry in the lead up, & during, to Harry’s 7th year at Hogwarts were aware that Voldemort had infiltrated the Ministry. Scrimgour wasn’t under Voldy’s control. Remember, he was killed when the Ministry fell during Bill & Fleur’s wedding reception. Pius Thicknesse was under an imperious curse and Voldy’s control as the replacement minister. Although she wasn’t under an imperious curse, and was never knowingly a Death Eater herself, Umbridge had similar biases and prejudices as the Death Eaters, so she was happy to comply with the new, darker regime. Others continued to work there under threat of imprisonment or danger to their family members.
Yes, I thought about that to when Cattermole was mentioned. I think Ron told them to get their kids a escape abroad.

Reg wouldn't be under heat, his wife was a muggleborn and he really wanted to be their for support in her trial. He was frustrated that they impersonated him though

No, he’s a half blood because his wizard father ran away when he was a baby and his stepfather adopted him as explained in the goblins revenge in deathly hallows.

To my knowledge it was Rudolphus who raised Delphini , voldemorts daughter. If you had additional info though….

I need to tell this since she is not present in the Video: despite the very clear corpse scene in the film Lavender Brown did in fact survived the battle of Hogwarts. In the books she slightly moves after the attack from Greyback and later Joanne K Rowling confirmed that she in fact survived this incident and the battle at all.
Where did she confirm it?

Like multiple sources talking about it when in regards to pottermore only says that.
@@ChanBang-bm9ci Actually I can remember the interview but it seems to have been deleted. She also stated that she initially survived the Battle of Hogwarts to be later killed by a Dead Eater or something like that. But its actually a source of debate if she survived or not since the interview seems to have been disappeared. The book also lets this one open, so it seems that its actually a lot less clear as I thought.
Just so you know, the inner damage of george loosing fred made so that he never can produce a patronus

It became Harry & Ginny’s home after they married. Kreacher became much nicer due to how Harry gifted him ‘Master Regulus’ locket’.

I'd agree that George could NEVER get over losing Fred. They seemed to have the (mythical?) bond of twins but also magically enhanced. Each could attend the classes they preferred twice (better grades) and seemed to share the knowledge. This is shown in the switching back/forth to finish a sentence. It would also explain how they could excel in their creativity, creating new spells and outsmarting others, a talent which they later focused on their WWW business to great success.
In the book, the Malfoys don't run away from the battle; they abandon it and run through the castle, searching for Draco. After the battle, they are sitting in the Great Hall, apart from the others, but together. That's an important, redemptive message that Rowling includes about their choice and the forgiveness of the wizarding community.
Hmmmm. Wonder if Crookshanks was one of the crossbreeds from Mrs Figg. That would be an interesting tie. Maybe he even met Harry at some point before Hogwarts.

Depends who you ask? I like the idea that if he escaped prison, the Ministry snapped his wand in half and forced him to live like a muggle until such time that he could be trusted again. I think he would hate that fate worse than prison, to be honest.
@@ElMaestroGordoHis wand was destroyed in the Battle of the 7 Harry's. Hopefully he never got another one from Olivander. There were other wand makers but Olivander was the best. If he got one I hope it was substandard and hard to win over to his will.
