For new Lenovo laptop bios. Check if after bios update the Intel VMD Controller is not set to: Enabled. It may cause problems with detecting your hard drive. Set it to Disabled, And check if Sata controller mode is set to AHCI.
When I try to change it to AHCI is gives a warning that says: all existing data stored on the drivers will be erase when resetting controller mode, does that mean that all my data and files will be deleted?

Hello good sir! Great explanation and I’m glad I got this far. Only problem is, I don’t have a Boot mode option. It’s not even greyed out, it’s just not there. I tried disabling secured boot like you suggested but I still did not get the option to change the boot mode. Any suggestions?
If you cant find or do not have that option in your Lenovo computer, then move on and try the rest of the steps in this updated video: ruclips.net/video/oL1R1Tw0jSo/видео.html. Does your Lenovo have diagnostic test ability as seen there?

Hi ,I have an issue ...When I open my Lenovo laptop it shows no bootable device and then I press enter key my windows operating system works fine .But each time I open the message is displayed and when I press enter key it is automatically opens into my windows. Is this a serious issue
My old laptop has HDD and it is not being detected by my OS. I have already tinkered with BIOS menu but to no avail. Any suggestions rather than throwing my laptop away?
Hi! I recently bought an ideapad 3 gaming and am struggling to make it work. It came with no OS so the plan was to start it with an SATA SSD from my old laptop. And then clone it to the M2 SSD from the laptop, and finally format the old SATA SSD. I plugged the drive in, it does show up in bios but I can’t make the laptop boot from the old SSD. Do you know what settings I should look into? Or is it not possible? Btw, the bios looks different, must be a newer version. You can navigate with your touchpad
@@PC_Monkey no, because I wanted to clone my old drive. I spoke with some guys on the Lenovo forum and they suggested I should connect my SATA SSD bat to my old laptop and change the booting type in windows from legacy to eufi. So I’ll probably give this a try. I know you can normally do this in bios but I just can’t find it anywhere
@@PC_Monkey finally managed to sort it out! The problem was that the old SSD was a mbr drive and the new laptop can only boot from uefi . So here’s what I did. I bought a software that would change my old SSD from mbr to gpt without losing data. Insert the old SSD in the new laptop and boot from it. Cloned the old SSD to internal m2 ssd. Switched the old SSD back to mbr and insert it back in the old laptop. Booted the new laptop from m2 ssd. And now basically I have 2 “identical” laptops. No errors and conflicts whatsoever.. yet. And what’s really funny, all the articles and videos I watched suggested that the in this case, the new device would need another license to activate windows. But strangely enough, they are both active on the same license. So I can say, the migration went really smooth after after I figured out that mbr gpt thing. And none of the files were lost
Hi @PC_Monkey thanks for this video - really helpful! However unfortunately I think my OS is corrupted and Lenovo have sent me the latest windows to reinstall…however is there anyway I can avoid losing the data on my laptop when I reinstall??
You can try choosing the options to save the DATA, as if the HDD is good, the DATA should also be good. If the install process will not complete with those options, or if you want to make 100% sure of not losing the DATA, I would recommend removing the HDD and sending it to a DATA retrieval company before install.
Thank you so much for this!! Btw do you know why this happens? I thought it was happening before when i had too many chrome tabs open but it just recently happened while i had one tab open with a youtube video playing. It seems random at times
@@cocoacherios If BIOS is not retaining the correct settings, it could be a sign that your CMOS battery on the motherboard is dead. That is the component that is supposed to keep power to BIOS even when the computer is off. If its dead, your BIOS settings may be resetting when the computer turns off. I would replace it. You can see how to access it in this video: ruclips.net/video/kOBY4k2Mn_k/видео.html
So switching it to Legacy mode worked for me but does that mean that I can't boot into Windows 10 in uefi mode without pre-installing the operating system.

Have you tried a new install of the OS onto the drive after install?
@@PC_Monkey no, because I wanted to clone my old drive. I spoke with some guys on the Lenovo forum and they suggested I should connect my SATA SSD bat to my old laptop and change the booting type in windows from legacy to eufi. So I’ll probably give this a try. I know you can normally do this in bios but I just can’t find it anywhere
@@PaulTechLink Good luck !! Let me know how it goes:)
@@PaulTechLink Very cool! Ill look into that and now I know for next time! WELL DONE :):):)
Setting the time and date worked 😂 thanks alot
Great to hear !! Always here to help :):)
You saved my pc... love you dude.
Happy to help :) Always here if needed !!
Its worked, thank you very much. Saved about 50bucks

it’s very concerning that so many people have been experiencing this problem :(
Its one of the more common computer errors that can happen for may reasons. Was this video helpful for you?
I’ve dropped my Lenovo laptop and it goes to that exact screen. I’ve tried everything but it still doesn’t work, what should I do!
Have you tried reseating the HDD? It could have come lose in the fall.
Thanks to you
Saved this fine morning
Glad your all set :) Always here if needed !!

Thank you so much for this!! Btw do you know why this happens? I thought it was happening before when i had too many chrome tabs open but it just recently happened while i had one tab open with a youtube video playing. It seems random at times
Changing the settings in BIOS for Legacy vs UEFI was the step that solved your boot issue?
@@PC_Monkey Yes, thats what i do every time my Lenovo Legion laptop blue screens and its worked every time
@@cocoacherios If BIOS is not retaining the correct settings, it could be a sign that your CMOS battery on the motherboard is dead. That is the component that is supposed to keep power to BIOS even when the computer is off. If its dead, your BIOS settings may be resetting when the computer turns off. I would replace it. You can see how to access it in this video: ruclips.net/video/kOBY4k2Mn_k/видео.html
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER

So switching it to Legacy mode worked for me but does that mean that I can't boot into Windows 10 in uefi mode without pre-installing the operating system.
