    💪🇺🇸 Having that extended range without sacrificing performance is a game-changer for anyone who loves to hit the open road.

      Its been great having the extended range for sure. I also suggest for us heavy rigs to have some other things in place like the OTT tune and a regear to help keep those numbers.

    If the new tank is 80lbs (stock = 53lbs) and holds 12 gallons more than stock the actual "added weight" (over stock) is only ~99lbs when full.

      That’s a fair point. I maybe should have said total weight.

    I just installed this in my garage this weekend. My GX470 is my daily and in Florida that’s a lot of gas lol mine is an auxiliary tank and adds 24 gallons for a total 47 gallons. Drove to Disney and back without having to stop for gas. Best mod so far! Lol

    What's up Mumfy! Our good friend just purchased new 2023 TRD PRO. Dark grey color. I turned him on to your channel. He's big into adding accessories to his truck. It will be his daily driver also, like yours. The long range fuel tank is definitely a must have, perfect timing.

    It just slightly more than two jerrycans, it’s not worth the cost or the size increase I think, not to mention the pain to install, much harder on the fifth GEN too

    I escort "Permit" trucks for a living - fuel up 'at least' twice a day. Having an extended range fuel tank in my 2023 Tacoma would be a huge boon; the trucks I escort can get 700 miles and more on their tanks, so I could keep up with "the big boys".

    Was the shop who did the install able to program the added capacity into the range and MPG of your truck? I had this done on my previous truck, a Ford F250. A shop did the install for me but I had to bring it to the dealer for them to program the new fuel range that I had after the new tank install. I currently have a 2017 TRD Offroad that I would like to install a new tank on.
    Thanks

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  11 месяцев назад +2

      The shop did not reprogram the range in the truck. I will have to look at having the dealership recalibrate for me.

    I have a 2019 4x4 V6 SR double cab
    Toyota Tacoma. I bought it (brand new) I would fill it up tank. I was getting 326 miles on a full tank. The Toyota Dealer did a recall on the fuel filter. They must have turned it down and now I only got 288 miles with a full tank, ! The pump stops at 16 gallons! I tried to put more gas 16 gallons and a half and it spilled out! I get a call from the dealer hey Emanuel, you’re up for an upgrade on a new Toyota Tacoma! First I had a four-cylinder Toyota Tacoma four doors brand new I traded in and I bought the 2019 Toyota Tacoma brand new four doors! I only have a little bit payments on it. And I’m going to go to Eco diesel Dodge because that goes up to 458 miles full tank!
    I was thinking to buy a long range Toyota Tacoma gas tank. They are pretty expensive. I’m still debating what to do.
    Thank you for the information about the long range gas tank .

    My Tacoma is set up much like yours. I use it strictly for overlanding, not a commuter. The LRF Tank is very appealing. Have you had any condensation issues with yours?

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  5 месяцев назад +1

      I have not had any issues with condensation. This is the first Ive heard of this issue. I'll have to look into it.

    Good deal Mumfy. It may not be right for me only because I take a lot of long highway trips with the wife and after 5 or 6 hours we need to get out and stretch our legs.

    Is the dash miles to empty still accurate as well as the fuel guage?

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  5 месяцев назад

      unfortunately the Miles to Empty doesn't recalculate for the new tank.

    Does the truck know that your gas capacity has expanded and tells you how much gas you have left? How does that work?

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  7 месяцев назад +1

      My Miles To Empty readout has not reset or adjusted to the new tank. The analog F - E gauge does keep the proper fuel level.

    • @MasterofNone365

    Does the fuel gauge accurately reflect the amount of gas in the tank?

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, the fuel gage does reflect the amount in the tank. The miles to empty won’t change.

    • @troy3456789
      @troy3456789 11 месяцев назад

      @@Mumfy64 That makes sense since the "miles to empty" would have to be adjusted for the new tank volume.

    Made in China, probably the nastiest and cheapest looking aftermarket tanks I've seen and they cost a lot more than the superior - made in Australia tanks that we have here.(1800-2500 USD compared to 1300-1800 AUD - Aussie $ is roughly 2/3 a US $).
    When I say made in China there is ZERO info on their website where they claim to make these in house or even in America, which would probably be an obvious marketing claim if they were.
    The website states 'for offroad use only' which probably means due to American DOT rules you will void your warranty and that these are illegal on road and your insurance will not cover you in the event of a fire.
    Absolutely the worst fuel tank option I have seen.
