    Haven't seen you for a while, hope all is good. That is some prety fst water to work. Reminds me of california. Great info on the 3" set up. Is it a over and under sluice? I like the t-post trick. I had ten foot spuds on my 5" that were a pain. The oversize jet is a great invention by Keene. Good job guys.😎⛏⛏🔥🔥

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  2 года назад

      All is great! Thanks Chuck, hope you have been well also! I use the t-post trick almost all the time now, it gives you so many different float angles n options. This was a straight single stage box with multiple woven wire classifiers over the riffles. It ran surprisingly well in the heavy bs material.

    Been a while!! I have a spot where I could use that dredge. An inside bend with a bedrock trough that comes up in the middle of the river. I'm getting mad gold on the bank only having to dig two feet to bedrock that is angling towards the trough, so I figure that the gold would be awesome.

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  2 года назад +3

      That sounds like a perfect deposition setup Ron, there could be a buckets load of gold down there! The 3" is very nice portable size for localized pocket dredging. Maybe I should come help you clean it out ;)

    Nice introduction. We are crazy spoiled getting to dredge in our lazy little creek compared to that river. Funny how even dredging there are so many different scenarios you have to work with.
    Good luck and thanks for the video.

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, calm warm water is the best, hehe! Fast water dredging can be a real challenge. Imagine trenching out from here into the main current, If you lift your head too high, you get sucked out of the hole😳

    What is the plexiglass thing attached to the hose at the 10:37 second mark? Is it a gauge of some sort? What does it do?

  • @richardstutler3058
    @richardstutler3058 2 года назад +1

    Why not have a classifier on end of the suction tube?

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  2 года назад

      That would restrict the size of rocks that can get sucked up the nozzle. If it can't get sucked up the nozzle, we have to pick it up and throw it out of the hole.

    Don't you guys have issues with hematite and magnetite closing up your mats where I am in the south off the UK were not allowed dredged or highbankers just river sluices and I find I have to clean up every 10l buckets if you watch my vids you will see what I mean

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  2 года назад

      Oh yea, we also have crazy amounts of black sands in areas. It can be a real problem. In my latest video, that area produces waaaay too many large magnetite's. I am yet to find a sluice configuration that can handle it.
