This a simplified way to show 2 very important lower body exercises. Here demonstrated with DB and most often done with a Trap Bar, in the bent knee version, the focus is on the entire tight and movement is generated primarily by bending the knee and keeping the chest up high.
Second version or Romanian deadlift: the movement is generated by hinging at the hip first, bringing the chest down and working through the glute and hamstring a lot more.
Try to include both versions in your weekly trainings.
