    3:40 Alternatively you can use Steel wool or scotch brite pads for a safer, less abrasive cleaner. Furthermore a little WD40 on the surface makes cleaning off the oil residue even easier. Love your Videos, cheers from Luxembourg :)

    As always great video and very well explained, thank you! I have the exact same model 2.0 petrol Ghia 2000 with 5 doors. I want to open and do all this but I can't find the ten bolts for the engine cover. I would appreciate it if you have a part number or a link to find it? Old bolts are really rusty and I want to change all of them. Thank you.

      Thanks for for your comment, and for watching the valve cover gasket video my friend. I'm not sure if Ford still has these Focus Mk1 bolts, but maybe a hardware store will have them?.. That's where I would look first. Walk into a hardware store with the bolt, and see if they can match it with replacement high tensile bolts?... Alternatively, maybe someone who is dismantling another Mk1 Focus online will be able to sell you a good set of bolts - try eBay, Facebook marketplace etc... Good luck 👍

    Hoping to watch another video on how to replace the front crankshaft oil seal and after replacing, will the timing needs to be adjusted again? I think the crankshaft sensor could go into it as well as they are in the same location?

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  3 года назад +1

      Hey Louie, I'll have a video up soon showing how to replace the timing belt on these cars, in which I also show how to replace the seals on both camshafts and the crankshaft. I'll have it up in about a week mate.

    Hello there had several mk1 ford focus model's and currently have a pacific green 1.8 zetec which is 22yrs old now and still running great at 113k mileage.
    Just wondering if you have experienced having to change the gearbox speedometer sensor
    Would be good to see a quality video on the process

    Hi I have a ford focus 2001 model 2L petrol I have a problem with suspension and my drive axle shaft is faulty as well and it is not ford focus exle past it was forced to be used there any advice will assist me on getting my car from the floor and start running again

  • @uselesvideo

    hey, so, I followed this video and replaced my gasket, the car ran rough, and I took 2 weeks to figure out my ignition coil had also very unluckily gone bad around the same time, so once I replaced that everything is running perfect. So for future repairs like timing belt change, if I have remove the rocker cover, do I have to replace the gasket again? cant I scrape off the old sealant paste and add new sealant otuch ups where you showed and resuse the gasket? I did the valve cover gasket replacement like under a month back :/

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  Месяц назад +1

      Good to hear you found the reason for the rough idle mate, good old ignition coils... these engine bays get very hot so the coils do tend to fail after a while. To answer your question, no, if you only changed the gasket a short time ago, you should be totally fine to keep it. Just make sure you remove the old sealant and replace it with fresh sealant... The reason these gaskets leak is because over time due to heat, they dry out and become brittle. If yours is only a month old, you will not have this problem... Thanks for watching, and I appreciate your support 👍

    Hi. Would this sequence be the same for the mk1 1.6? Thanks

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  2 месяца назад

      If not identical it will be VERY similar. I have no way of checking a 1.6 engine but I'd give it a go.

    How about adjusting valve clearences? It has never been done on my zetec engine, I can't find replacement shims on Autodoc. I will leave it since it doesn't seem to be an issue..

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  Год назад +1

      Hmm.. interesting question. I've never had to adjust valve clearances on mine so I can't help there, sorry. Come to think of it I don't know anyone who's had to do this yet on a Zetec 😕

    • @tinus411
      @tinus411 Год назад +1

      @@Horus_Works My Haynes manual shows how to do it, but without replacement shims I have nothing to adjust. My Engine has lost a bit of power, uses a tiny bit more fuel, but it is problaby due to the worn waterpump I am currently replacing.

    Hello!
    Did you make the heat shield that attaches to your valve cover? I just replaced my valve cover due to it melting from the exhaust manifold heat being directed at it due to the design of the heat shield. I see you have a 2nd heat shield exactly in the area where mine failed due to heat. Is this factory? or did you make this?

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  2 года назад

      Hi Michael, thanks for your question mate. This is a factory heat shield 👍 I hope you can find one from another Focus.
