      Thanks for watching Tom. I have only used them once and they worked pretty well. I'm in the Mississippi River with heavy current so because they weigh a little more we have to watch how much current they are in. Have a great day and Thanks again. -Scott

    I like it. Too bad you can’t go test it out today. I made one similar today and tested it out. Pulling it in my pond. Plan on doing some tweaking in the morning and hopefully trying it out. In the Bayou very soon. You get an a for effort. I love seeing people taking on these do it yourself projects

    Hammer the bent corner down before you glued it. Second dont put the bolt in yet glue your foam first so you get a flat surface to put weight on to let it dry. Then cut a 45*deg angle on the foam then tape it so it glides thew the water. But any way just my 2 cents. You did a good job. I learned some good stuff.

      That is awesome information. Thank you for watching and the tips. I’m making a couple more and will incorporate your suggestions. Have a great day. -Scott

    About to make my own as well. How did they work out on the water?

  • @BernardGignac
    @BernardGignac 7 месяцев назад

    Maybe you should cut the leading edge of the stirafoam at a 45 degree angle fo less friction while using it ?

  • @mr.gadgetfishing2134
    @mr.gadgetfishing2134 5 лет назад

    Your leading edge needs a taper to track good. Also use SS so you dont have rust, with lock nuts so you dont need to worry with then coming off.

    Why does the bolt need to be so long? If it's to keep your line farther away from the board, wouldn't a 6" piece of cable for the release work?

  • @jeffleong9986
    @jeffleong9986 5 лет назад +2

    it would probably be even cheaper to use a chip clip for the release clip. also instead of the styrofoam use one of those pool noodle from the dollar store

      Hey Jeff thanks for watching. Yeah I’m gonna make a couple more and will incorporate the noodle instead of the foam. Have a great day.

    Great DIY video, thanks. I made my as you did also. I incorporated the 45deg angle and used wood instead with some sealants. It kind of worked. I will add some buoyancy and decrease the weight at the bottom and will try it offshore next week. Wish me luck. 👍

    how long is the eye bolt please?

  • @br549dennis
    @br549dennis 4 года назад +2

    I think it would be better if you use 2-inch styrofoam instead of the full 4 in I think the 4in would make it off balance and not float straight up with a lot of weight

    • @Bait2Bend
      @Bait2Bend  4 года назад

      I had considered that when doing it. Never had making these and fishing on the heavy current of the Mississippi I was worried about two things, weight and current and which was gonna win! So far, after a couple times using, they have done ok, I am looking forward to testing quite a bit in 2020. Thank you for watching Dennis. Take care. -Scott

    Why is their no angel on the front to keep it out from the boat, wouldn't work in Michigan big lake

  • @ImionsaeXwb77
    @ImionsaeXwb77 Год назад

    I couldn't live with that, why didn't you beat that corner up so it flatten out before you put that foam on it.... I make my own board as well but I like to make it a little more cleaner then that.
