The Microtech Cypher sees the return of a fan favorite OTF with cutting-edge advancements on the original design. The classic Cypher has been reengineered inside and out, setting a new standard for out-the-front technology. Our latest innovative dual fuel drivetrain allows for effortless actuation and the smoothest action ever seen on an OTF. The jimping on the chassis adds an element of style while providing maximum grip, and the 6AL4V pocket clip with ceramic detent gives the user secure and accessible carry options. The screwless body and integral glass breaker give it a more streamlined look, and the updated button pocket design reduces friction and facilitates debris displacement. With its relatively compact size and ease of deployment, the redesigned Cypher sets a new benchmark for Microtech’s renowned combination of style and utility on our out-the-front lineup.

The updated bangers just keep coming!! Maybe new ultratech in the works? Not that it really needs improving, just asking.
They already did the ultratech 2 like two years ago plus the new makora from two years ago maybe three now is literally a scarab form of the ultratech. Don't be too surprised if we don't get a new one this year.

I just got a dirac today.... disappointed. Pocket clip is off center and the blade grind is not great. Should be perfect for the price!

It would not surprise me if they release the Ultratech with the new design however it makes sense that they are adding it to their more premium models first.

Microtech has really stepped it up. I was never very excited about the OTF's because they looked the same for years. Recently they are starting to look more aggressive and modern.
The original cypher was a bit bigger than this new model, right?
Yes. It was a 4” blade, this is 3.5”. I would LOVE to see another updated Cypher, I’ve been looking for one for years. I have about every other Microtech OTF except for it.

There’s a reason Microtech has remained the measuring stick to which all other OTF’s are measured.
I like the old Microtech better. So far I'm not impressed with fit and finish, it seemed to go down with the price. Hopefully things return to normal
God I'm hopeful this is as nice as it looks. My old Cypher had to go in for maintnence 3 times, and still failed to fire. Ended up selling it for a combat troodon
Soo close! Remove the glass breaker and I'd buy it.
I picked one of these up from DLT and it's excellent. I'd very much like an X85 size as well.

.03" too long to be legal in my state... Shame. It's a good looking knife.
Don’t expect them to spoil the fun for everyone else! 3.5”+ with a dagger edge is the only way to do an OTF 👍
I honestly don't think anyone is going to take the knife out of your pocket and measure the exact length, especially with a .03" difference between "legal" length. Buy it, carry it, and live your life.

The one sabotaged the tent pretty well by cutting the guy line. OTFs are good for that😂
