I think I figured out why I enjoy your reactions so much, out of dozens of bigger channels. We can really tell you're paying full attention to whats happening on the screen, and your comments are always focused. Relate to this so much. People keep trying to sound funny and then end up missing huge parts of the show and ask stupid things later on or they’re just super confused. It sucks how they don’t even pay attention it’s just super annoying!

The item Ellie got from Maria is called a diva cup. It's a menstrual product like a tampon, but reusable. It fills with your blood, you empty it, clean it, reuse it. Perfect for the apocalypse (and a money saver/more environmentally friendly now).
Joel wasn't have heart attacks; he was having panic attacks. Poor guy.
When I saw the diva cup I was like, “Holy shit that’s perfect for the apocalypse.” I don’t use them NOW because I don’t like the idea of the mess, but I would absolutely put up with it in this situation lmao

@@loudsilence6123 to be fair, she has no idea what THAT kind of loss is, specifically, yes. But he said it as a generalized statement, when she has lost people as she said. What Joel should've said was "you have no idea what that type of loss is" but it would probably sound too specific for a show lol
Fun fact: the movie Ellie is watching is a classic 1970’s Oscar winning film called The Goodbye Girl. It stars Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfuss.

@Joel Miller Joel joined the military when his brother did. He literally said it in episode I think 1 or 2. He said that Tommy was a follower and he enlisted with him because he was worried. Dude literally has a veteran bumper sticker in episode 1.
Wrong in this case. If you're impaled and move around, the foreign object will continue to do internal damage due to movement. Yes pulling it out will cause blood loss but in this situation that's the lesser of two evils. You want to leave the shiv in if you can keep the "patient" still until they can be attended to.

In the first episode Tommy calls to be bailed out of jail. He says, “It wasn’t my fault this time.” So he didn’t sound to be the stellar person Maria makes him out to be. Ellie knows Joel’s side and trusts him.
Also, thank you for adding captions to your videos. The auto-generated captions are always so bad. We hard-of-hearing people really appreciate it when creators do manual captions.

I love mine. It makes life cheaper/easier and they’re better for the environment. It’s a much better option for Ellie in this environment- she’s probably been snatching pads/tampons if she can find them.

12:25 that thing is called a diva cup. It's basically a reusable tool for menstruation. Instead of a tampon or pad you insert that up there. It catches all the blood. Then when it fills you empty it out and yeet it back up there. In a zombie apocalypse most tampons would be bye bye. Women would have to resort to the old ways of just using cloth to cram in their pants. So one of those would be a godsend to women.

12:13 Yes! It's a menstrual cup, which would be excellent during the apocalypses. Episode three had Ellie find a box of tampons--an apocalypse TV first, and this gift here answers questions I'm sure someone has started asking giving that they're now 3 months past the point she found the box of tampons. In a world without factories of any kind, that gift must be a godsend, given it can be used numerous times (rinse, wash, repeat).

He told Ellie in the truck on their way to Kansas City, that Tommy joined the military and the Fireflies because he's "a joiner" and that he dreams of saving the world. Joel knows what he needs to tell Tommy to get Tommy to get on board. I know why Joel's doing what he's doing--he thinks he's slipping and thinks Tommy would do a better job--but he's also being selfish; he got to live that family life!
17:11 Imma disagree. Joel has become attached to Ellie and like Bill, Henry and Even Kathleen before him, Joel has something to lose. He didn't have that for 20 years and that's what allowed him to be the man Marlene spoke of in episode one. We haven't seen that version of Joel yet, and I think this scene is setting things up for that person to come out. Joel doesn't realize that he's attached to Ellie or he has and he doesn't want to admit it. Once he accepts it, and she's in trouble, a switch is going to flip. Robert didn't want to mess with Joel for a reason.
25:31 While a little different the game does the same thing--we gamers were stressed out too wondering Joel's fate. The next episode doesn't look like it's going to tell us either since we're going back in time, though maybe it'll be an extra long episode like Long, Long Time and end in the present. In any case, this was another great episode.

I think Joel is sad about Tommy and Maria is because he was left out…cut off from his brother and unable to share in his life.
I see it like this, Joel isn't trying to be mean but he is so afraid to lose anything more so he has to numb feelings and ignore them instead of just letting himself feel stuff again. And with Tommy I think he wants to be the one that helped out, but Tommy has got a even better life without Joel so he feels useless. My interpretation of it anyway. And I think he is getting anxiety attacks through out this episode, his body can't cope with everything he's bottled up and refused to feel.

The video game was great.. But this tv show to me is disgusting, showing the wrong message to the children, teens and older people with childish attitude. Ellie was not an annoying bratt and Joel as the experienced adult and ex soldier was the leader.

You missed a lot of the point. He's not just hurting.. he doesn't want to ever hurt that much again. If he loses ellie at this point. He would kill himself. And to prevent that feeli g he needs to be harsh. And cut her loose. But.. it's not simple is it.

Joel didn't want to, that's why he didn't tell him before about Tess, for what? So Tommy thinks "If I bother to tell my brother that this place existed maybe Tess would be alive?" Tommy knows how Joel was before and after and why, and yet, got married and everything, and didn't tell him.
