Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Another good video. We can all learn much about firewood from the Germans and Scandinavians.
Ehrenburg ! You were around 45 km of my hometown ! I hope you enjoyed it - welcome !
G'day Joe, our local Stihl dealer won regional sales a few years ago and they like you went to Germany to tour the facilities at Stihl and some tourist locations. They both thought they were big eaters until they went to Germany, they said they flew over in coach and came home in cargo 😀👍.
Another world tour video for a world class firewood producer. Joe your showing the world on video how you went from a local producer to known around the world. People in the industry can look up to you and say one day I can be as known as Ohio wood burner. Peace
Awesome. Thanks so much William!!!
A few years ago I attended a wedding not too far from where you were. The bride was a former exchange student in Medina County, Ohio. One of the places she missed in Germany was Taco Bell but we did stop at a Burger King and a KFC while driving on the Autobahn. Some of the items on the menu were different but most of the food was the same as in the US. I never saw Dr Pepper sold but Coke and Pepsi were both available most everywhere. I hadn't been back to Germany since I was stationed there in the late 1960s. Other then the cars on the highway, things seemed pretty similar. I'm enjoying your tour Joe!
I felt at times that I was in Ohio with the trees, grass, and geography. I saw BK and KFC but didn't eat at one...just didn't have the time. The Dr Pepper was hear and there but it did taste different. Prob they don't use high fructose corn syrup lol
Joe this was an awesome video! Jan and Jorg from JHS are awesome guys and the guys from Japa too! Really wild seeing that old military site turned into a firewood yard.
My dad was in Germany as an Army Air Corps pilot. He stayed there after Germany surrendered. Dad thought my siblings and I would love Sauerbraten. Either we didn’t or he was not good at preparing it.🤔 Excellent video (per usual) Joe and Jan!
Thanks buddy!
This video is on another level. Way to bring us along Joe!
Thanks Brian. This trip was awesome!!
I'm aspiring to be the top "VIEWER OF THIS VIDEO" by assisting in enhancing your RUclips algorithm, I have subscribed, liked, and I am actively watching and commenting from Quakertown, Pennsylvania, USA.
Thank you for your support!
Really cool video, Joe. Interesting how they have repurposed an old military base into firewood production. Did you see me waving back to you from Ohio when you were in the "tree stand"?
Joe, great video. You crack me up & you’re always full of surprises. That was quite the tour you led us on. As always, Have a great day.👍 Dave D. from Maine.
Thanks Dave!
Whatever the German words mean "Thank you very much" to Jan for showing us around the firewood operation and a little history about what the grounds used to be where the firewood operation is. Joe, looks like you had a great time when climbing up there for the view. And Joe, thank you for taking us along on your trip to Germany.
Thanks for the nice comment buddy. This trip was a lot of fun and I really liked seeing the different places in Germany. Glad you enjoyed it too!
Thanks for taking us along Joe.
Any time zeke
That was fun. “ smells like acid”- “ well, you’re half right”, perhaps dropping the “ id” and two s’s following the a. Enjoy the sausage’s and kraut !
haha... I wasn't sure if I was too subtle LOL
Another good video Joe. Love the look-arounds in this series of films. Very interesting stuff. First impressions: firewood people are good people all over the world. Keep them coming mate. Interesting about the moisture in the beech chunks,I've always dried my wood as much as possible. Cheers from HB NZ
Thanks Cliffy. I have heard both sides of the argument. Seems it is more about the desires of the chef. LOL
I watched this post on Sunday, our third and last Sunday of this Western adventure. My load of Amishmen has decided to cut one week from the end of their trip.
We have traveled, I think, more miles than you have.
The odometer reads 5,500 on this trip so far. We will log at least 2,000, this coming week
That sure is a lot of driving JB. Be safe and watch for storms this week.
German autobahn joe give it full throttle
Greetings from austria
Pleasure to meet you Dan. I hope to visit Austria one day!
@@ohiowoodburner no Problem joe my woodyard in tirol is open and i have a lot of beer & Coffee
Hi Joe: Great video- I enjoy seeing how others produce firewood.
Thanks RB!
Beautiful country!!! Was stationed in Bamberg in 1972 while in the Army. Even went to specialist school in Bad Tolez in Southern Germany. Enjoy your stay in Deutschland
Thanks john. Will do!
One of your most enjoyable and interesting. Love the international flavor. You’re good at this RUclips thing, Joe.
Haha!!! Thanks Beachy!
Is it me? I cut tons oak and don’t notice a smell… lol
Entertaining video Joe.
😂 love this video. I'm not sure but I believe my cousin may have been stationed there. I forwarded it to him to see if it is familiar to him. Good video 👍
That is awesome lyle. Let me know what he says
Joe,looking like 👍 your having a blast in Germany 🇩🇪 everyone needs a break from the same old routine of course you deserve it 😮😊❤
Im loving what I do Todd!
Oak has a wonderful aroma. When properly seasoned, it also puts out a lot of heat and coals well.
Thanks for sharing this cool stuff.
Oak smells nice after it seasons. Green it smells awful! Lol
@@ohiowoodburner I like it green too. It does have a presence that some may dislike. I drink unsweetened black tea where others may prefer something sweet like Dr Pepper :-) Cherry, apple, and sugar maple wood also have a good aroma as does fir (I process and burn whatever comes down) but red oak is wonderful for me.
Be sure to try the Döner (kebabs) while in Germany.
Great job, Joe! You're the perfect ambassador for North America, world class. Interesting video of japa machines/ ex- military base. Sounds like you have a new friend to entertain when he comes to visit Ohio. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks Pete. Im doing my best to get Jan to Ohio!!
Very interesting, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it randy!
Europe does firewood much different than the US.
Interesting video.
sizes definately. In an upcoming vid I try to show the 1 meter long logs that get cut into shorter lengths. I put one of the machines in a recent short.
Great video Joe! That old military base is pretty neat. Thank you for bringing this to us. - Tim
Thanks 4 watching Tim
Joe, as always a great World Tour Video of Germany. Love the way they make Chunks of Beech. Also your Favorite OAK. Looking for your next Great Video my Buddy. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

DAS IST SEHR GUTE, JOE!!!

My great grand parents were from Germany.
Thanks for watching buddy
Good-ness!! Bunkers, NATO, missiles? Yah Joe, you’re not in Ohio anymore. (Although you almost spotted home from the ramp, ha ha. ) Elaine from Canada here, glad to go on a European adventure with you. Great video and AMAZING everything else. Auf wiedersehen, prost! 🍻 🍺
Thanks Elaine!!!!
Another world class video from OWB!
Very interesting indeed 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it Shawn!
Haha! I love the smell of oak!
haha... insert barf emoji!!!
@@ohiowoodburner 🤣🤣
Cool
Thanks
International Dad jokes...awesome, man. As mentioned at a previous video: so happy you came here on your secret mission. How did you like the pork and Sauerkraut?
Being an overweight American I thought your food needed more salt and grease! LOL. But I did experience pig knuckle etc!
Nice field trip.
Thanks buddy
Hey 👋 Joe
Hello
Interesting you where only 2 hours from where I live! :)
We needed to meet. I needed a euro for the bathroom!!!
Good video joe get back to work
That's about right
Oak….”It smells like acid”….”Well you’re half right”. 😂👍
haha... I wasn't sure if I was too subtle! LOL. BTW Let me know how your wheelbarrow experience went with AMLEO.
@@ohiowoodburner All good. They sent a new “bowl” to replace the one that was dented in shipping. All assembled, and given to my daughter and son-in-law. They love it. 👍
An old decommissioned NATO base. That's neat. From a farmers to strategic defense, back to farming and firewood. All in what the last 100 years?
It was certainly a cool experience Dan. Amazing place
Great video Joe. Really interesting. Joe I was curious is the old log deck. is it available to purchase?? I have noticed it in your yard still from some videos.
Thanks buddy. The log deck doesnt beling to me. Not sure the plan yet
Burger King was the best in Michigan with the introduction of warming trays. I believe they will go belly up soon
I just had a Whopper on Thursday. Awesome sandwich.
Driving in Germany is MUCH better than driving in America 🇩🇪
For the short time I was there I noticed Germans work together WAY better than Americans. No left lane camping etc and more generous letting someone in line.
GRETA VIDI'O CAPTAIN MORGAN,
THOUGHT YUAN WAS GREAT. " DONT KNOW HIS SPELLING" GLAD YOU WENT TO GERMANY AND CAME UP WITH THE NEW SPECIES OF WOOD, AKA VOMIT OAK.
THOUGHT YOU TWO WERE HILARIOUS, SEEMED LIKE A GOOD FELLA LIKE YOURSELF.
AS SOON AS THE RAIN LETS UP GOING ON THE HUNT FOR SOME VOMIT' OAK.
👍 HOPE HAVE A GREAT DAY!
haha Thanks Ole. To call oak, "vomit oak" is redundant!!!
If my math is right, a cord is about 2 3/4 of their cubics
I am only good at spelling numbers. Factoring them is not in my skill set!
Hi bpmunroe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. If my maths are correct, a cord of wood is 3.728 cubic metres (128 - 3.25 - 3.25 - 3.25).
Erle = alder
Good to know buddy!
I think "Erle" is "Alder" in english
At least that one log I saw sure looked like cherry bark. Hit was scaly and had lenticle pattern throughout
I'm watching from Somalia. Don't ask why, haha
Great to know! I will check my metrics and see if Somalia appears! Have a great time
Your both nuts, 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks tim
