Back in 2017 when I was defining and hiding these around the game world it was a fun little extra thing to add to the game, I had no idea people would be analysing these so deeply 6 years later. Cheers on going the extra mile on demasking effects of these so well.
I got into this game about a month ago. I'm 52 years old. I played Atari 2600 berserk in Middle School, first edition d&d in high school, final fantasy tactics and so on.... This may be the best F'n RPG e v e r.
It is so nice to see content creators covering KCD when im getting back into it myself. Especially ones not covering the same 5 tips and tricks but doing good, interesting analysis. Sequel hype already building
I didn't even know there were so many dice in this game. Also the mechanic behind them all in combination with each other is next level. Thanks for the great explanatory video !
This has to be one of the best gambling mini games in gaming history. I feel the same way about gwent in Witcher 3. Not sure why there isn't more fun and complex mini games like this. Thanks for the vid. You put a lot of time and dedication and confusing mathematics to come up with how the dice works.
@@middlesiderrider That deck makes you feel like a CIA or KGB spy from the amount of spies are in that deck lol. I haven't really tried the monster deck much so not sure how good that one is. I like NIflgard because of the amount of hero cards there are. I need to play with the skellige deck though. I heard that one was super unique.
@@marcfilms999 I started the game thinking Gwent sucked because I always lost. But the more I played the more I appreciated the complexity and I just started dominating. I beat every Gwent story mission first try and I didn't realize that was a big deal until I read all the Internet posters looking for guides and recommending save scumming. And yeah I'm the kind of person that, if something is working I just stick with it. I tried the other factions and didn't like them. I'm sure that's just because I didn't spend enough time developing a strategy. I don't usually like mini games(especially in a game world as amazing as TW3's) but I thoroughly enjoyed playing Gwent whenever I had the opportunity.

New sub over here. This is the second video i watch of your channel an im impressed on how much time and effort you take to explain things even the difficulty of those. People like you deserve to have millions of followers, but not everybody is willing to trust the info that a small channel may give you. I wish you the best, and i hope that you appear some time in my recommendations page!
Thank you for this informative DICEY video! Great work, man! I waited for at least 100 hours into the game to try Farkle, but it's fun...when you WIN, that is! 😅
YES! Tht happened to me yesterday; i've just gotten hold of those Demon-dice, and on my first throw in the very first round i got 4000 points! I took that poor guy for his last 100 Groshen apparently! 😂
This is a pretty impressive and thorough video man, thank you for your thorough research, although I'm surprised you didn't mention the Pribyslavits boar drink you can with the from the ashes dlc. It helps improve your odds of winning after consumption. I'm not entirely sure how though, it's probably in the same way as lucky throw, but I'm not going to test it.
This was great! I personally try to get the Lucky Playing Dice as soon as I can. Even if you don't have the full set, you can rig the odds in your favour by trying to keep them in the game as long as possible. When the AI players get two 1s on the first throw, and rightly only score 1 of them, they always take the good die and rethrow the ordinary one. The best play is to score the ordinary die, so you can throw the special die again. Can also confirm that the LPDs *never* roll a 2, so it is impossible to get any straighs(small, big, full) with a full set of LPDs.
The Riddler can spawn with almost any vanilla dice in his pocket, including henrys beta dice and strip die. I always check any crossroad for him when traveling. I have almost a full set of any dice in my main save.
I love the roleplaying in this game and how many things you can do. I like to have henry have days off from questing and trying to make money and have him wake up, have a couple drinks and head to the bath house after getting a nice buzz spend few hours with a wench, and then head down to a tavern for some more booze and spend the day playing farkle and boozing and talking to the npcs around the tavern ill even sit him at the tables with other npcs and just enjoy the fact that you can do that and start dialogues with them to gain some speech xp. I like to think of them as his regular drinking buddies. All while having a few drink irl with some joe rogan in the background. Timeless game and pass time i think I might like it even more than skyrim I cannot wait for the 2nd game.
I like to use the lucifer dice set along with a devil's head and two shrinking dice. Rolling 6's all day long and winning every game without relying on the lucky throw perk (which feels like cheating IMO) is so much fun. :D
This makes me even more bummed that a town guard took my Devil's Head die. I got caught picking a lock, and decided to pay the measly 60 groschen fine, not realizing that automatically gave the guard the ability to take any stolen items i had in inventory. And of course i didn't realize the Devil's Head was gone until hours later. Stupid guard punishing me for my misdeeds. Anyway, "Jessus Kwist be pwaised.".
I apologize, should this comment come off as negative. I am genuinely baffled why you would do this. All the dice and their percentages are listed on the wiki. (Datamined straight from the game files, I think). Throwing each die 300 times seems like a lot of effort to validate something, we already know. I do appreciate the insight into the 'Perfect Throw'-Perk though.
The only thing I wish they had added to Farkle is the ability to bet all your/your opponent's money(whichever is less) and to add a 'score all' option when you want to score all the dice showing instead of marking them one by one.
@MajorCinnamonBuns Thanks. I could probably mod this myself, though it has been ages since I delved into modding of this game. I should try to finish my HC Slow XP mod.
I want that Ledetcho gamblers Devil's Head Dice! I can't Ko/kill him so I was forced to learn pickpocketing to try to get it from him. I swear that dice lets him roll nothing but straights.
And that S O B (yes he took me there) gambler in SKALITZ of all places rolled NOTHING but Three of a kind, four of a kind, partial straight, full straight e v e r y damned game!!!! I made it halfway through the game and haven't seen a better Gambler since.
Yes,pickpocketing is the only way to get their dice. You can also just match their loaded set with lucky playing dice to keep things challenging. Most of them can be retrieved from treasure chests.
Cant imagine what u must sat through - and I thought i played dice a lot in this game :D btw. it seems like agility acts in way like luck modifier - maybe not, maybe its just coinscidence but every time i got agility over 15 my throwssuddenly become god-like. even without perks/ drinks nor loaded dices.
My fav dice combo is x2 Alfonso die, Alfonso devil die, x2 blue demon head die, and one blue shinking die. 3 devil die and 3 nice loaded die. 3blue n 3 red die.
Also if you rebuild town From the Ashes DLC and build a tavern you will be able to get free beer that will give bonus for throwing die getting better combos for an hour.
Bro I'm getting scammed, somehow I have 2 shrinking die, the holy trinity, AND the even die, and I busted 5 times in the same game. Bro I hate this game
anybody thats on pc and has the console command mod should try spawning in the "another die" they are a blue die like the devil die but without the devils head on them, they are basically lucky playing die but better.
I've just looked up all of the dice's percentages/probabilities on KCD wiki. Why bother making the experiment, if someone already did the math for you?
The first time i play this game i tought i can get rich by gambling but im wrong, poaching is better, just need your dog to hunt rabbit down since i know most of us here suck using bow lol
Iont understand shit you said lol so your telling me i can get dice for cheating in game? Is it worth the time finanancialy like can i make substantial money cheating? So it's *your* fault I spent all night trying to pickpocket Nightingale trying to find that lucky playing dice
I love the dice minigame, as I love the game even without it, it makes it so much more immersive. Good job Warhorse

Warhorse's approach to game design is certainly unique from other rpgs, and a lot of people seem to like it.
The combo boost from perk and dice beer, odd dies take the cake imo. Becomes incredibly common to roll 6x 1's or 6x 5's which is instant win.
It is so nice to see content creators covering KCD when im getting back into it myself. Especially ones not covering the same 5 tips and tricks but doing good, interesting analysis. Sequel hype already building

1 is in a grave north of ushitze
Master Karel is ushitze also has one (pick pocket)

the 6th one you have to get from a treasure (i quickly google)
Ancient map III
Treasure map I
Treasure map III
Treasure map VIII
Treasure map XI
Treasure map XIII

I thought that would be OP because of the heavy focus on both 1s and 5s, but I only have one of them, do you remember where you got yours from?
did my post where i listed them up got deleted by YT ........... rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Dude epic video and excellent research, thank you for the knowledge! Cheers

At low stakes,it's also a nice way to unwind in-game. There's nothing like playing dice at night while it's raining.

would be a neat thing if they added them with old rules being in that times i.e. castling was invented in XV century.
