Thanks, Claudia! We have yet to visit Morocco, but we are really looking forward to it! Interestingly, as you may know, but in Egypt if you are Egyptian, you must show proof of marriage to share a room with the opposite sex! It wasn't a flashy hotel by any means, but it was fascinating, in a very cool part of town, and the food and views were incredible! -Judy
@@FindingGinaMarie yum! Mouth is watering just looking at the pictures of your meal. Fruit smoothies might be sketchy for digestive upsets for us, though!
They assured us that the ice they used to blend them was made from bottled water. But the fruit certainly could be sketchy. By this time, we'd been in Egypt for three weeks. They either had pristine conditions or our gut biome adjusted. Whatever the case, they were delicious! -Judy
@@claudiahansen4938 It's a lot like Greece, but it's got an interesting/unique side to it. Food is mostly Greek, but there are so many tourists that there is every kind of food. Mezze has been very interesting! We can't wait to fill you in!
No, I haven't, but the reviews look great. We booked our hotel in Aswan too late to get much choice. But I think time in the Nubian Village is such a unique and wonderful experience that I am sure you will love it! -Judy
Thank you so much for your encouraging comment, Jenny! We know that not everyone has Egypt as part of their bucket list, but we thought we'd bring this beautiful place to you to enjoy anyway! Thanks for watching! -Judy
Glad to hear you thought so, Erin! I know that Egypt and especially Aswan may not be on everyone's wish list, but the Nubian Village was so noteworthy, we felt like we'd be remiss not to share this hidden gem! -Judy
Hi Richard, How awesome, yes, it's a fascinating place! Did you happen to see the stuffed crocodile? And also, what about the spices in the food?! After time in Cairo and Luxor, the extra flavor was amazing! -Judy
Thanks for getting back to us and for all your informative videos and sharing the direct link. We are planning to skip AbuSimbel as it sounds too hectic instead spend time in the Nubian village. Did you book this trip with Mahmoud as well or perhaps directly. Regards
We really enjoyed working with Mahmoud. I would trust him to ensure you have a great experience even with another guide. We actually lucked into him. We booked our Nile River cruise with Egypt Portal Travels. The experience was very impersonal, but they paired us up with Mahmoud as a guide. He was the person who coordinated our schedules and helped with our transfers on either side of the cruise and guided us at all the tour sites and on the ship. He really ended up being the glue to our experience. We had already spent time in Cairo working with very average guides, so he really stuck out as being exceptional. He's very passionate, and I would expect that he would surround himself with equally great guides since they all reflect on his business. We hope you have a great experience and we'd love to know what you think after your trip. Abu Simbel was a very early morning day, but it was breathtaking, especially when you consider that the entire complex had to shift to accommodate the new Aswan Dam. We do think the Nubian Village also is worth seeing; since our cruise started in Aswan, we were able to spend the night in the village and then explore Abu Simbel as well. They are both very different experiences and you might feel like you've had your fill of ruins by seeing all the other architectural sites that are part of the cruise. In fact, we didn't really know anything about Abu Simbel and didn't have it on our itinerary. Mahmoud encouraged us to consider it during our first day of our trip and we were glad to have trusted him. But it's hard to say which we would have chosen if we couldn't have done both! -Judy
@@FindingGinaMarie You are a pleasure to watch because you are, simply put, lovely people. All the very best to both of you, may your trips be blessed. 😌

It was SUCH an unexpected gem! We hadn't heard about it before we booked it, but when our Nile River cruise guide (Mahmoud) mentioned the Nubians, we were so glad to have spent time there and had some insights. Hearing more of the history truly brought it to life. Thanks for watching! -Judy
HI JUDY and KEVIN! In 10 days I am flying to Egypt for the organized tour! We are going to Aswan but I don't think we are going to the Nubian Palace, but we are going to the Philae Island where the Temple of Isis is located. All in all, I was suddenly worried with the current news, the tour operator said we should be fine. If anything occurs, GOD FORBID, they have an alternate plan for us. Anyway, I want to thank you all again for your wonderful videos on Egypt! My bucket list will soon have one less item to accomplish! (as they say in Arabic: Insh'allah!) I am still debating the Air Balloon ride! 😂😂 Bless you both! ♥♥♥♥
Hi Enrique! I am 100% confident that you will return safely. We are excited that you will get to tick Egypt off of your bucket list, and we'd love to know what your experience was like when you return. We will be sending you positive vibes that it's a wonderful experience. Are you doing a Nile River cruise? We'd love to hear all your details! Safe travels! -Judy
Thank you, JUDY! Yes, definitely we will be doing a Nile Cruise! ♥ My loving sister was, of course, very concerned and at first the Alexandria incident heightened her worry. But nothing has come from that. I tried to assure her that it was an isolated incident. Later, I sent her maps demonstrating the distances between Cairo and the Gaza conflict area. I also confirmed to her that I was covered with a refund from the airline and if that didn't work, also that my flight insurance covered me if I cancelled, which also covered me if I cancelled the actual tour. She was noticeably relieved. At first, I was obviously concerned but eventually, as I analyzed the situation deeply, I felt better and my sister now has accepted that I am going. AFTER ALL, this was kind of a reprieve since I had to cancel plans to visit Egypt back in 2010/2011 after the ARAB SPRING developed! In any case, I gearing up psychologically in a positive mindset after our seasoned tour operator assured us of what I felt instinctively, that we should all be fine during our short 10 days in Egypt! ♥ Sending my love to you and Kevin! ♥@@FindingGinaMarie
