Coop, I like your numbering system. A good way to make it a little less arbitrary would be to verbalize improvements that would make up the difference. For instance: "Stability, 9 out of 10, and to reach a 10/10 it would need to have XYZ to get there." This makes your numbering system a little more grounded and gives the companies tangible feedback to work with for improvement, and we all win. Thanks for what you do.
I liked your review of the REP AB-4100 and was about sold on it, until I found out it's made in China. Instead, I chose this bench. Thanks for the great reviews. They gave me enough info to make a well-informed choice.

I'm always like come on why didn't they just add this or that to it. Why can't we have 1 that blows all of them out the water. 1 that ends the conversation on which is better.
@@deadapostle yes you are right. I'm not attempting it to save money. For the price , this bench is worth every penny especially since most pieces are USA made. This model design size and width is very similar to the commercial Atlantis B-177 Adjustable Bench I have which retails for $1200 with shipping and tax and this is at a discounted price. The rogue looks much sturdier from the video. I would never again spend over $1000 an a bench. But the Atlantis was the only design I found worked best for me and this design looks like a close replica. Rogue equipment might seem expensive to some, but it's actually much cheaper than commercial grade equipment and the quality very good. People have no clue how expensive commercial equipment costs lol. Rogue is very reasonably priced. You get commercial quality at a lower cost.
Thanks for another nice overview of some new offerings. Love the AB 3.0 and 90% of what Rogue does. I have a ton of Rogue equipment, as well as Sorinex in my basement gym. So I’m not shy on spending money - when it’s quality and when there is nothing else out there that meets or beats it. I have to say though, in this instance, the Rogue AB 3.0 “chased” the Rep AB 5200 and is in no way more premium than the 5200. The two rival each other, but the REP 5200 is about $130 less. There is zero added value in my opinion to getting the Rogue AB 3.0. When you compare price points (690-710 range) the REP AB 5000 Zero-gap with its leg attachment and free shipping at $710 allowing for decline work as well and ab work to the SS Rogue AB 3.0 at $695 shipped, the added features and zero gap blow away the AB 3.0. The REP AB -5000 zero gap, also stands upright, but interestingly is beautifully finished on the undersurface too. Almost like it is intended to be viewed from underneath. No staples or trimmed edges to the upholstery like on the Rogue, just a perfect finish to the metal base and seamless upholstery. A Direct comparison of functionality of the REP AB 5000 zero gap would be Rogue’s AB-3, which with shipping is over $1000 compared to the REP at $710, so no contest even there.
I haven’t used this exact bench yet, but IMO the difference between Rogue and Rep benches in the past is just that the Rogue benches typically feel a bit more “solid” and the padding typically feels a little closer to commercial bench in terms of quality and firmness. Now is that worth the extra 100+ dollars, or is it even something you really notice much while using it? That’s the million dollar question. But the price point is likely close enough for those who want to support “Made in America” or have all other Rogue equipment and just want it to match without dropping a thousand bucks to justify buying this over the Rep.. I’m still undecided on a bench myself. IMO the Rogue padding on even my lat pulldown seat feels better than that of a Rep bench, so I like the idea of how firm and commercial like a Rogue bench would feel. I don’t like the slight play in the zero gap personally. So I’m basically considering this and the 5200, and find myself trying to answer that same question. @@handcannon11 well first off, a home gym is NOT about saving space. If that was the case you would simply go to a regular gym. A home gym is about having better equipment and more convenience. I recommend changing the “Coop Score” system. The numbers are a bit too arbitrary to follow. I recommend a 1-5 scale as follows: 5- industry leading (best in its class at the moment) 4- above average (better than most products in its class) 3- average (good baseline that works. Most people would get by) 2- below average (leaves a lot to to be desired. Maybe a temporary solution) 1- horrible quality (unsafe, lots of obvious corners cut) Just have an explanation and reasons behind the numbers to help companies improve their products. With your following, who knows? The industry might adopt a standardized system. Love the vids Coop.
@@GarageGymReviews Just my opinion -- I honestly disagree because a larger scale allows for more flexibility in the grading due to certain nuances. One product may be nearly identical to another, but edges out very slightly because of a particular non-significant feature. In a /5 grade scale, you would likely score them the exact same or use an arbitrary decimal. In a /10 grade scale, +/- 0.5 is understood as "minor feature advantage/disadvantage" in my mind. I don't think it's a good idea to go with fractions other than 0.5 because it becomes convoluted and you might as well have just gone with a /100 grading scale. I do think Danny's idea of industry leading down to horrible quality is a great idea, but I think Coop has enough insight on all the equipment he's used so far that "industry leading" is almost never going to be chosen. So, I imagine a lot of products will be rated as 3 or 4 which will dilute that pool of product line. Instead, he could then divide those 3's and 4's into 5's through 9's for better ranking based on his opinions and input.
@@evotikto Excellent point. Adding a decimal system would help but it would be similar to just having a bigger scale as you said. I believe the key takeaway is to categorize certain ranges into tiers to standardize equipment features on a well-explained totem pole. As long as the numbers are objective and well articulated, we should all be happier campers.
@@evotikto As someone who deals with grading standards for flight training, I disagree with a wide scale. We used to have one and it was confusing to instructors and clients/students so a couple of years ago my organization adopted a 4-point scale with clearly defined criteria for assessing performance. The difference between the old system and the new one was startling not just in the delivery of training but also from the data science perspective. Just my two cents from another industry.
Coop, no mention of the lack of decline or attachments available for this bench? There are drawbacks other than the price. I'm surprised no negatives were brought up in this review.
That's a good way to look at some purchases. It's cheaper to buy the higher priced item than to buy the cheaper one and end up replacing it. As a rifle shooter glass is like that. I would rather buy one really good scope than replace it when the cheap one breaks or doesn't meet the task.

Coop! I just ordered several items from Rogue including the Rogue 3.0 Adjustable Bench, 640 lbs of Competition Training Bumper Plates, 3 barbells and some barbell plate clamps. Delivery was dropped outside my garage in my driveway. My wife was home but nobody rang the doorbell. That was a little frustrating since there was rain in the forecast. I got the delivery notice while at work and I'm freaking out because it's starting to rain! I get home in a rush about an hour later and start manhandling these pallets and boxes into my garage in the rain. Saving grace, there was black plastic over top of the boxes that protected 95% of the boxes from the rain. The only setback is that the Rogue 3.0 Adjustable Bench is missing part #7 Seat Support Arm! 🤦🏾♂️ I just emailed Rogue today so we will see how quickly this can get resolved.
Rogue delivered the missing part yesterday in the mail and I was able to finish putting the bench together. Thanks to Rogue for the quick resolution! I'm very pleased.
Watching these reviews I've gotten used to products being $1000+, so this wasn't too bad. You can buy adjustable benches that are plenty functional for ~$300 though. Even with the money to upgrade I don't want to go through the hassle of buying and assembling something new and moving and selling my other bench. These choices are much easier to make with a dedicated moving crew Coop 😉
I purchased an ETHOS bench for a fraction of the price and perfect for heavy weight. If I remember correctly, I was told the weight support for that bench is around 1500lb. If money is no option then ROGUE is the way to go, but if you are looking for something solid and affordable then ETHOS is the bench for you.

I may be in the minority, but I find the gap on my AB-3 bench very comfortable. On top of that I use it to help me line up for presses knowing I’m in the exact same position on the bench.
@@bhaveshbhanushali3831 -Not at all, easily the most solid adjustable bench I’ve ever owned. The ONLY complaint that I have is the wheels, I wish they were a bit more beefy given how heavy the bench is, but that’s just nitpicking and really isn’t that big of a deal, not like I’m in the gym just rolling my bench around for 2 hours.
No discussion on the play or sway of the upper part of the bench when inclined? You’ve hit on that before with other benches but didn’t touch on it with this one.
I have a Rouge half rack and love it but for 300 bucks I got a REP AB-3000 FID bench that is built great and declines which if you only have enough space for one bench in your home gym its nice to be able to do decline movements.
In Germany the 2.0 is 738€ with Tax so it is more expensive than the 3.0 in the US, and the 3.0 is not offered yet, should I wait or buy the 2.0 because it is a really nice bench and I believe rep dows not ship to Europe
The new textured foam pad is awful. It is hard as a rock. Wish they would give you the option of ordering the old vinyl pad or the new pad found on the Manta Ray.
1. Which is better, rogue 3.0 or Prime Adjusible bench. Which you recommend buying more? 2. Does the Prime Adjustible Bench) have a little shake/rattle? ( compare to the rogue which doesnt shake at all or the Rep5000 which does shake/rattle) Thanks
Great review as always. I’m in agreement, this bench is worth the money because of its overall high quality, and solid construction. But that said, do you think when your actually using the bench for presses and it’s 95 degrees in the gym and your sweating and your pushing out those last reps, you’d really know if your laying on this or a 5200? Is that $250 more (todays Rogue price now with shipping) noticeable in the heat of the workout? Will the Rogue bench stay in better shape and condition longer? That might make the money worth it, do you believe Coop this bench will actually hold up longer?
I received mine last week and the joint between the back frame and the seat frame (the part where it is connected with 4 bolts) moves no matter how tight I tighten the bolts. Every time I lay back on an incline, the whole frame lifts and it causes the nut to keep digging into the paint and I have paint chips collecting on the floor at the end of every workout.
So glad you reviewed this. If I had even a slightly bigger room, this would be my choice. I may still have to go with the prx adjustable. If anyone has the 3.0 paired with the prx pro rack, I would like to see how it looks from the profile view. I am curious if the pull-up bar could be used when the bench is in the stowed position. My guess is the bench would be in the way when doing pull-ups, or in the way when doing squats.
Hi, just bought the Rogue Bench 3.0. Question, the support rods for the back and seat (the rods that support the back and seat to go up and down the ladder) are they metal or like a PVC pipe type material?

I've been hoping and waiting for that as well. I'm thinking it could be a space problem until Coop gets moved into his new "facility." The monster Cave looks like it needs a decent size footprint.
Same. I emailed Coop about it when the Monster Cave was first announced, and he said he had one on order. Patiently waiting for the review, but he may not have it yet..?
In addition to all that Coop mentioned, I especially like the narrower foot so I can adjust where to place my blocks for BPs. Also, this will set me back a cool $750 with shipping and tax in Florida for the upgraded, stainless steel model. I may pull the trigger on this in December.
Go for it! I made my own flat bench for 40 euro's with wood, a thick firm pad and a leathery vinyl. I prefer it over the benches at the gym and its held upwards of 200kg. Pretty sure it could hold more but i can't bench that much lol.
While it looks great I personally try to get very light benches for my home gym. I have to move the bench a lot for different exercises - no need to go with a gym grade bench that is designed to be put in front of a mirror not being moved ever..
@@GarageGymReviews it's a great review. As always. Appreciate your work 👌 since you guys know all pads ever made. How close to a competition pad is it?
Just got mine, unfortunately pretty much everything was damaged in shipping except for the wheels and spine. Still trying to get replacement of damaged parts after more than a month since ordering it.
So the question no one seems to be able / willing to answer (including Rogue) is, are there or will there be replacement pads available? As someone who has torn through his fair share of vinyl, this is important, especially when not only does Rep offer replacement pads, but they have normal and wide pad options...
Hey coop, big fan of your equipment reviews and your garage gym collection. Can you please review the quality & durability of Decathlon adjustable bench 900?

Update6 months and I'm still loving this bench. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxo_64lVTGMk7y4aXTPxPOcQ3YTLyQ6kYV I use it almost daily. I've gotten used to the small wobble and it's no problem at all. Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.

Here in europe we have ATX brand which have a very good quality over price.
I recommend changing the “Coop Score” system. The numbers are a bit too arbitrary to follow.
I recommend a 1-5 scale as follows:
5- industry leading (best in its class at the moment)
4- above average (better than most
products in its class)
3- average (good baseline that works. Most people would get by)
2- below average (leaves a lot to to be desired. Maybe a temporary solution)
1- horrible quality (unsafe, lots of obvious corners cut)
Just have an explanation and reasons behind the numbers to help companies improve their products. With your following, who knows? The industry might adopt a standardized system. Love the vids Coop.
This is helpful. Am constantly trying to improve the score!
I bought one of these in Australia yesterday based on your review Coop. Thank you.
Hey mate, how's the bench? Did it come with the textured pad?
Going to pick one up from the Sydney showroom Thursday.
Coop, no mention of the lack of decline or attachments available for this bench? There are drawbacks other than the price. I'm surprised no negatives were brought up in this review.
Rogue is his daddy
That’s a lifetime purchase kind of bench. Still happy with my Rep Fitness AB31000 that I bought for 239$ 3 years ago.
That's a good way to look at some purchases. It's cheaper to buy the higher priced item than to buy the cheaper one and end up replacing it. As a rifle shooter glass is like that. I would rather buy one really good scope than replace it when the cheap one breaks or doesn't meet the task.
I’m so happy with mine especially considering it was about half the price of anything else.
That's a quality shirt Coop. Iron Maiden is a beast of a band.
Iron maiden, a band from West Ham in east London.
The football team, West ham's nick name is "the irons". The nick name of iron maiden is also "the irons". The bass player gets north Americans to say "up the irons" in support of his favourite football team.
Awesome video and review! I'm a huge iron maiden fan so seeing that shirt made my day!
I bought the Arsenal Strength Alpha adjustable bench. It’s very nice quality, extremely stable and made in the USA. It does have pad gap, but I like that.
Just assembled mine, very sturdy bench. I love so far. A little pricey but worth it.
Another great review Coop! This roque bench looks damn nice! I must admit that this video also felt like a trailer for the upcoming bench comparison video that is coming hahaha…so this video scores a 8,58/10! 😂👍🏻
😂👊
Only thing i wish is they use the same padding material on the Thompson fat pad o. This bench as well
I agree, think it should be used on all their benches.
Coop keep that love away from me! 😂 Nice video bro!
Just went to rogue storefront for the first time. Those of you on the fence of going to check it out, DO IT! More than worth the 2.5 hour drive that it took me
Matt anything I need to know about visiting the Columbus store? Long drive for me - hoping I can see the benches and Racks to make a final decision before purchasing
@@joesph9748 Matt is right. It was worth the 2 hour drive from Cleveland. It's actually a pretty impressive facility. It's an old bearing factory. Possible mask requirement when entering. When I was there several years ago you can see the equipment and I was able to feel the bars and benches. Plus some cool items. The bar that Licis did the rock over squat record with. A Cyr dumbbell. And some other cool stuff. Should you go I suggest either Schmidt's Sausage Haus or Thurman's for lunch/supper.
@@bmstylee awesome thank you. Heading there this week. I have had very basic fitness equip for 20 years. Now buying for the next 20...likely half
Rack, 3.0 bench, lat pull down machine... about a 4 hour drive. Will be good to see the stuff live before ordering
@@joesph9748 on top of a cool facility you might run into other cool things. I had a chance to converse with Steve Slater which was nice. And they were doing something with stones. Think something like the Dinny stones. Now that they appear to be open next time I need stuff I might pick it up just to visit. Oh and visit the mentioned tasty restaurants. Seriously Schmidt's is freaking amazing. Been there since the late 1800s.
@@bmstylee never heard of Schmidt’s will go for sure
Good review. I've held off buying a bench, but this is the one I'm buying especially since it got the Coop stamp of approval. lol I really like the build quality and look of the bench including those casters. Hey, you've got some fuzz growing on your face you need to take care of.
Nice review Coop, enjoying the iron maiden shirt as well !!
Just bought it , looking 👀 forward to using it.
It looks like my Vulcan Strength adjustable bench. I like how they gave it same flash with the stainless steel. I luv how stable my bench is under load. No wobble at all.
I’m stuck at home with covid and I’ve been waiting for coop to upload thank you!!!
Get well soon stay active at home dont let it get you down. I beat it and i am 65. God bless
Gym hack: use two resistance bands lengthwise around your bench to prevent sliding when benching. Game changer for cheaper benches.
I may be in the minority, but I find the gap on my AB-3 bench very comfortable. On top of that I use it to help me line up for presses knowing I’m in the exact same position on the bench.
Do you have the issue where at an incline the bench is wobbly?
@@bhaveshbhanushali3831 -Not at all, easily the most solid adjustable bench I’ve ever owned. The ONLY complaint that I have is the wheels, I wish they were a bit more beefy given how heavy the bench is, but that’s just nitpicking and really isn’t that big of a deal, not like I’m in the gym just rolling my bench around for 2 hours.
Damn I’ve been waiting for this one!
Hell yes!!!!
No discussion on the play or sway of the upper part of the bench when inclined? You’ve hit on that before with other benches but didn’t touch on it with this one.
Oh man the coop stamp of love. That forsure bumps this to a 9 out of 10
😂
Thanks Coop. Always on point.
I just bought same bench Panzer in india from Bullrock fitness. Marvellous purchase..
The new textured foam pad is awful. It is hard as a rock. Wish they would give you the option of ordering the old vinyl pad or the new pad found on the Manta Ray.
Yeah I had to sell mine because of the pad
@@CapUnlimited its really that bad?
@@isHooKon3tHeDoN it’s beyond bad it’s like laying a rock
@CapUnlimited fuck. I'm just starting to get into working out so I'm not sure if I'll care or not but is what it is I guess we will find out lol
@@isHooKon3tHeDoN your ordered one if so maybe see if you can buy a different pad
I got mine a couple weeks ago and love it. Feels rock solid.
It is a solid bench. 👍
Been loving mine the few weeks I’ve had it!
Can you describe the pad a bit? How hard is it compared to competition pads in a powerlifting combo? Thanks
About time, been waiting. Really want to get this bench
Nice review here coop. I have one question, if cost is not part of the equation, which is the better bench, the rogue 3.0 or the rogue ab3?
Yea which one?
1. Which is better, rogue 3.0 or Prime Adjusible bench.
Which you recommend buying more?
2. Does the Prime Adjustible Bench) have a little shake/rattle? ( compare to the rogue which doesnt shake at all or the Rep5000 which does shake/rattle)
Thanks
Thank you for the video. Made my buying decision easy.
Love the Maiden tour shirt! Can’t wait to get this bench but rogue have no clue when they will make it available in the UK .
Excellent as always Coop. I have the Hoist, really good bench with a decline option
Lol that grunt when u give ur stamp of love!!
The Coop Stamp of Love is a winner.
😂
Impressive opening stepping up the editing wow
👊👍
I was surprised not to hear you mention the AB-3 at $950.
Still rocking the AB-5200 with wide pad. I doubt I'll upgrade, but if I had to do it again it would be this.
@GarageGymReviews can you give lift weight at handle like you do on your newer bench reviews. Curious of weights to move this bench and rep 4100?
The 2.0 offered a spotter deck option. With the 3.0 have this option?
Curious to know how it compares to the previous model 2.0 Bench
Hi, just bought the Rogue Bench 3.0. Question, the support rods for the back and seat (the rods that support the back and seat to go up and down the ladder) are they metal or like a PVC pipe type material?
Looking to get a new bench, would love a "best benches" video
Hello champion!
What is the measurement of the screw of the articulation axis and the rest of the screws please? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I love ya Coop! Any word on when a ‘Cave’ rack (monster or lite) review will go live?
I've been hoping and waiting for that as well. I'm thinking it could be a space problem until Coop gets moved into his new "facility." The monster Cave looks like it needs a decent size footprint.
Same. I emailed Coop about it when the Monster Cave was first announced, and he said he had one on order. Patiently waiting for the review, but he may not have it yet..?
Great shirt! Thanks for the review
In addition to all that Coop mentioned, I especially like the narrower foot so I can adjust where to place my blocks for BPs.
Also, this will set me back a cool $750 with shipping and tax in Florida for the upgraded, stainless steel model. I may pull the trigger on this in December.
1250 euros in Europe.. double your price.... so do not complain plz
@@LarsRyeJeppesen Not complaining, just planning.
@@SethBeck Sorry didn't mean to imply you were complaining. I was complaining however. Cheers
@@LarsRyeJeppesen no worries. That VAT always sticker shocks me when I'm on the other side of the pond.
The more I watch Coop videos, the more I’m convinced that I’m going to DIY most of my home gym gear. It’s too damn expensive
Can you please do a video of best benches. Including budget friendly ones! Me waiting patiently 😀
Hi Coop,
when are you going to review the Rogue Manta Rey FID Weight Bench?
Thanks, Mathew
I've been waiting for this review a long time 😁
Hoping it did not disappoint, I had been waiting to get it in so we do this one.
I’m a happy camper with my Rogue AB3
Is there a good quality adjustable bench that also can be used for decline sit-up?
Looks like a nice bench. I have the rep fitness zero gap and honestly it was the best 499 ever spend. I'm not sure I could ever wear it out,
So the question no one seems to be able / willing to answer (including Rogue) is, are there or will there be replacement pads available? As someone who has torn through his fair share of vinyl, this is important, especially when not only does Rep offer replacement pads, but they have normal and wide pad options...
Yeah, there will be. They won't tell you there are and it may require going up the chain, but Rogue prides themselves on having life proof equipment.
How would you compare it to the Rogue AB-3, which is several hundred more?
Hey coop, big fan of your equipment reviews and your garage gym collection. Can you please review the quality & durability of Decathlon adjustable bench 900?
Use the least expensive bench you can find for you home gym. It is your consistent use of the bench that determines your results.
This is random non-bench related question, but what dumbbells are you using in this video? I want some.
This would be cooler if it had an add-on for a leg pad at the top so it could be used as a decline bench like the GetRX'd bench you reviewed a while back.
No mention of the Premium Foam pad vs the Standard vinyl pad option??
Hi Coop, thanks for the review! Rogue recently added the an optional "premium textured foam pad". What do you think of it? Thanks!
Have you had a chance to test or use the upgraded foam pad for the AB3
Too bad this wouldn't have been available 6 months ago when I got my AB-5200.
Oh well the AB-5200 is still a very nice bench.
It is now my sole mission in life to acquire the coop stamp of love.
be careful what you wish for
Just got mine! It's a Cadillac!
Coop thanks for listening to your viewers and providing this review! Was really looking forward to this one.
Can't wait to see your new facility!
Another versatile piece that's been getting some attention is the power tec lever gym. Seems very functional with the pull down/low row and lever arms combo. Interested to hear your opinions.
My problem with all these adjustable benches is and maybe I haven’t found or seen the one I’m kind of looking for Is one that can do flat incline and decline and be a good quality bench
Not available from Rogue Europe yet, unfortunately. US only. I was ready with my payment card...
“How much do you love gym equipment?”
*humps adjustable bench*
my titan FID for $270 does the job. not perfect but pretty close especially for the $$.
When’s the full bench review coming? Looking between the top rep benches and can’t decide 😓
$585 for no decline is kind of ridiculous
Price is high but I was expecting it to be higher. Feel like 20% of the cost is just the Rogue name.
Why would you wanna do decline in 2021 though? Still expansive ofc..
@@OD91MJ The base model is $130 more (with shipping) than the Rep AB-5200, for a higher quality product made with better quality components and made in the USA. The Rep AB-5200 is made in China by people probably making $1/hour. Rogue's minimum wage is $25/hour. Doesn't seem like it's just for the name...
@@KpXzzang Low pay in China is about 3000 RMB /month. That's more than double $1/hour. Plus, they don't have our EPA, so they're able to have really sweet high speed rail.
