Interesting comparison. Some differences are plain. What's not obvious is how versatile the Helix is.

More 2 cents Read all the comments and not 1 mention of Boss. As a BIG Boss fan I have to say I never really liked the Boss phase sounds. Have a older PH-2 that's PSA modded for my board. But just didn't like sound enough. Especially compared to a lot of this. I replaced the Boss with a Mooer liquid phase bought used for under $50. Totally satisfied with this. After 2 yes still exploring this.

First two chapters let you know all you need to know, and first chapter jam is amazing, really funky. I think the mini Ibanez clips the signal, which is a no-no, and the Behringer does too. To me Helix, then MXR, then Mooer

So, here's what I get from this (excellent) shootout. YMMV:
    - TC Electronic Helix may be 100% digital, but it sounds amazing
    - Ibanez Mini Phaser clips the signal in a rather unpleasant way
    - Mooer Ninety Orange sounds great in every scenario
    - EHX Small Stone (RI) sounds lush, but not as good as the old versions
    - Behringer VP-1 is dirt cheap and can do criminally cool FX sounds
    - HB Vintage Phase thins out the guitar tone and adds too much treble
    - MXR Phase 90 (block logo) sounds a bit too "wet" and middy
Personally, I'd choose the little Mooer, hands down!! How about you?

I got a Mooer but it's the Liquid phase. Can get Phase 45 and 90 sounds both script and block. Can get a very close Small Stone sound. And I still have more pedal options. Now looking for Boss phase sounds. All out of the same digital mini.

Mooer, Ehx, Helix, in that order.

Behringer VP-1 sounds great on every track. I already have one so the Mooer is the one im gonna get from this shootout. Thanks, great video!!

Having played it a to b to mxrs vintage and modern, the Mooer is extremely impressive.

Got the Mooer and it does its job fine.
Waiting for the new MXR 8-stages phaser.

The differences really came out when distortion was used. Nice shootout.

Best cheap phaser I've tried was by a random chinese brand Saphue. Sounds so good I don't feel the need to "upgrade".

I have a Behringer VP-1 and i will buy a Electro Harmonix Small Stone (the pedal that VP-1 is based on) just because the Behringer is huge and i want more space in my board. Great video as always!!!.

    Some of my thoughts:
    Mooer sounds very good
Phase 90 sounds good as always
Ibanez I liked, had a bit different of a flavor to it
Harley Benton sounded terrible, way too bright

I use the boss gt1b and once you dial the bi phase and 12 step in they're great.

Great comparison video! In this case, I really thought the big brand names greatly outperformed the budget pedals. Favs were TC, Ibanez, and MXR. The Ibanez had a weirdness to it that I enjoyed, almost sounded like an auto-wah at times, but tough to beat the MXR! It was one of the first pedals I owned back in the 70s, but I sold it when I got the big MXR flanger. Wish I’d held onto that little Phase 90!

@@richielakes Sorry, that's not how it sounds to me. I listened to them again, back to back, and the Mooer sounds good, but kinda thin compared to the MXR, which I prefer. But that's just my opinion, admittedly subjective.

Thanks mate. To my ears, they sounded pretty lame except the MXR.

    And the winner is Ibanez🎉🎉🎉
    The runner up is MXR
    3rd place is Tc electronic.

Doesn't anyone else think that a mix or fx level knob is critical for these types of modulations? So in this group, I have to tc electronic.
Looking for any other mfrs that have a mix/level knob.

There is one that has the MIX control that is a mini pedal that I purchased for $35 that has me convinced. It is a KOKKO. I've learned quickly not to grab one without a mix control.

This just dropped into my feed...my thoughts is that whilst we get a comparison of the cheap pedals in the video, I don't overly find it helpful.
Because...I'd like to know how they sound compared to one (or two perhaps) more expensive pedals. This helps so we can gauge whether spending more is worth it or not.
    Thanks for the effort...
    Cheers. 😎😎😎

Sorry, but you're making the wrong comparison...
    You have different effects settings.
TC Helix has Feedback at 12 hours.
    Ibanez practically at 0.
    The same Depth...
