Thank you for the review. It was helpful in deciding on NVR products from this company.
Awesome video, thank you very much! You have shed a lot of light on different aspects of surveillance systems and how everything interfaces. It was a great tutorial to help me make my decision, I never thought about concealing the NVR. I am going with the Reolink. I hope you recorded this portion on a Monday 0:46 🤣🤣🤣 Your tradesman skills have come a long way, you get forced down that DIY path when you own your own home. Paying people an inflated price to do crappier job than you can do yourself is frustrating. Nice job! 👍👍 You need to install yourself some attic stairs that fold up into the ceiling.
Nice one, I'll have the install video up next but for someone like you I'm sure it'll be a breeze. Yeah, I've been really getting into this DIY game, too much fun, and 100% agree about the care and love you can put into the projects. I've experienced a few trades who really struggle with straight lines and just love the bish-bash-bosh eyeball it and runaway job. Whereas when you do it yourself, if you get a bad item, you don't just shove it in and run, you go back to the store and exchange it, and you can put the care a love into it, and learn the know how to maintain it... Although there does seem to be an endless learning curve.
@@headsoftech Looking forward to it!
Thanks for sharing this video ، I love your half for help you 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👏👏
Fantastic review and explanation. Can you tell me what the noise level from NVR is like?
Yeah it's pretty loud, like a NAS drive.
thx thx
Nice video! Out of curiosity, your QNAP NAS supports 8 camera licenses with QVR Pro, why did you choose a dedicated NVR? I am asking as I am also trying to figure out whether to use my NAS as a surveillance station.
Yeah, it would have been nice to use the QNAP, but I couldn't find high megapixel 4k cameras that were compatible. Additional reasons.
- 16 slots without additional licences and came with a good set of cameras at a good price.
- No performance degradation on the QNAP while running
- Could always use a computer to make a local copy of the security footage on the QNAP and just treat Reolink as a backup/POE switch for the cameras.
Have you found any good cameras that would work with the QNAP?
@@headsoftech Thanks for the reply. I am currently using a Synology NAS but considering moving to QNAP due to the extra licenses (8?). Also I saw QVR Pro has quite a bit of advanced features like face recognition. I like Amcrest cameras, but you can check out www.qnap.com/en/compatibility-surveillance/?brand=is_all for a complete list of supported cameras.
If you are lucky your existing Reolink cameras may even work with your QNAP so you can test to see the software (you can do cool thinks like having movement zones) and see what the performance hit would be.
Hello please I have an issue with my tv remote sony it stopped working I want to know if it only uses sony battery
Just replied to your original comment
Hi what’s the difference between Reolink 820d-a vs reolink 800d-a, or are they the same?
820d is newer and slightly better, but it's not noticeable unless your spec hunting.
@@headsoftech cool thanks man
Can you use a Logitech wireless mouse with this nvr ? Thanks
Probably not, I couldn't get any wireless mice to work, but let me know if you find a way.
@@headsoftech i understand that an Amazon basics wireless mouse will work
Can you use any monitor ?
Tested it on a couple of monitors BenQ and LG, both worked fine under HDMI. The only issue I've had was if I set the resolution to 4k then connected it to a 1080p monitor. But other than that the default worked.
Dude you are all worried about security for you home, but you're smoke alarm needs new battery 🔋 lol if you get a fire or smoke you're house will burn down, please get a 9 volt battery
