The way your wife reacted to you trying something new and figuring it out on camera for everyone to see is the real accomplishment here. Congratulations, man. You found a real wife and lifetime partner.
I love that your wife is so supportive. Congratulations on getting out from behind the computer screen and outdoors for some physical labor. It pays well to know both nowadays! I am taking notes, and thank you for making such a complete video of the entire installation. Looks great!
For real! My wife complained when I installed my security camera but liked it later after enjoying the benefits.
Okay, you two are now my favorite DIY couple. Very sweet to see the love between you two and the enthusiasm.
🤙
I advise wearing knee pads and a hard hat when working in attics. For years I did as this guy. Then I crawled onto a nail. Another time, I bumped the top of my head on a nail from a shingle. These injuries required a trip to emergency medical services. Since then, I have purchased both, which were inexpensive. Second, it is a good thing to have a half sheet of plywood. You can move it around as needed and either sit or lay on it to work.
Thanks for the tip mate and hope your injury wasn't too serious
@@headsoftech Nothing serious, but they did require tetanus shots.
Great job I’m doing this weekend the same pre wire all my security vídeo cámaras 🎥 and u lucky to have a beautiful wife helping you 👍👍👍
Great video! My only suggestion, is add some survalence cameras that look like surveillance cameras. The deterant factor is the real advantage at preventing a burglary. You want to deter the common criminal. Nothing will stop a pro, nothing less then a S&W 😅.
Hi,
Your vlogs are always intuitive and inspirational and very much appreciated at least by me and I will continue to watch all of them as long as remain intuitive, inspirational and helpful to me, thank you
Thanks mate, glad you found it useful.
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ruclips.net/user/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
Tips for placement of NVR. Place it hidden in your bedroom and attach the NVR to a smart bedroom TV that you can use as a normal TV or switch it into a monitor screen for your cameras.
I love your installation you do great work. Nice and simple and clean but almost all the installation are in the same type of homes. Attic above the garage where you have plenty of room to run wires. But much older homes are not configured that way so installation is much much more difficult
If it helps, I've got another video running wires up to the attic via two stories here: ruclips.net/video/RW086CLRaMI/видео.html
And another one running wires through the garden to an outdoor security intercom here: ruclips.net/video/IZ6fhi-N41s/видео.html
Excellent video, thank you for sharing this!!
Hello Which system cameras did you have here and have you upgraded ?
Do you cameras have a zoom ?
Excellent video
Great video, very informative.
Heads of Tech! Watch me forget what a joist is or how to mount a camera 😂
L
I am proud of your too as I would like to add the same type of cams in the roof. Thanks for sharing.
Great job!! I have a 16 and 8 cameras systems all over my property this is fun job but not really hahahaha, congratulations great job
Nice couple, lovely house 👍 good video Thanks
i felt your pain when you were at the attic. I installed speakers for the whole house and it wasn't fun in the attic especially at the corner of the house plus it was very hot In Arizona
Be aware when you place a camera under a roof, to check the image quality during night time to verify that the overhanging roof doesn't reflect IR light, reducing image quality significantly. Same goes for wall mounting.
Very good, Thank you!
What car is that! It's beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, where’s part 2?
Tip, bring two planks with you when you go up in the attic. 😊
Why? I have to do those soon for my home 😅
watching! going to enjoy this one. Nice house
I guess the new iCloud+ feature: Homekit Secure Video solve this matter perfectly. Question: does your camera support Apple‘s HomeKit?
Nah, they haven't integrated Homekit support yet, just Google and Alexa, but to be honest with you I prefer to keep my security system offline and instead have a secure private VPN based solution for backup and remote access.
Great video
Several minutes into the video he tells us it's his first time. I'll now look for a video by someone whose experienced, makes sense doesn't it.
I think I just learned a lesson: This is a two-person job.... one in the attic, one on the ladder. And use half or quarter sheets of plywood to crawl on!!
Anybody is an expert these days...
Great video👍
How did you screw in the cameras under the eaves? Is it not too soft and flimsy?
I just used the basic wall plugs provided and they're still holding strong. But, if you're nervous you can always use wallmate anchors instead, they're rated for 10-20kg each.
@@headsoftech Thanks very much for the tip
👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏excellent work
Did the base that you attach the camera to also come in the box?
Yep
did anybody notice that there was not attic insulation?
It's over the garage, which doesn't need to be insulated
Looks like the rafters aren't designed for a snow load. Very nice weather there, maybe other weather types to prepare for.
That attic seems so uncomfortable to be in. Good that you put on the mask and glasses
Yeah the first time you do it can be overwhelming, but now it's like my second home up there.
He very professional 👍👍👍
Is this worth it ? All that wiring ??
Yes
Crown molding in the garage? That’s a first.
Time to shred
Hi
Hi
ROFL at 'random' joices in the roof, and where the hell is your insulation? you would save 500 a year on utilities if insulate :D
He lives in Queensland, Australia. I went for a brisk walk today (in the middle of winter) and was sweating. That's how hot it is here. In summer, people just keep the blinds closed to block the sun out and the house stays cool.
A 180-pound fat man like me will never be able to pass through that ceiling
Eufy offers a solid offering of solar panels that are wireless. I have both wired and wireless surveillance for the best of both worlds.
Pro tip: stop using duct tape, use electrical tape, its cheaper and easier to work with
Gaffers tape is better…no residue
Are your parents Maltese? Cos you like a guy I dated, I know you’re not him but you do look like him! I’m in Australia, so that’s how I know it’s not him..maybe his cousin? 😂
What a nightmare!!
Cables
Gentlemen, please, what are you guys looking at...... I was searching for a low-voltage installation guide for my security system, and I found that people's most viewed part is 4:28...
