    The lead.male dancer is so graceful, He reminds me of one of those beautiful birds that shows off their bright and colourful plumage with graceful flutters and other posturing to impress the female birds. I've been an Irish dancer since I was young (Though haven't practiced much in the last four years) but the feet work here really is something else, I don't think I'd be able to accomplish anything similar even when I was younger and in my prime. The amount of time they spend up right on the tips of their toes looks painful 😖 Bravo 👏 Absolutely fabulous performance from the beautiful Circassian people, only wish this a longer video

      The man's message to the girl is here I can manage to suffer any pain for you as the tiptoe dancing is pretty hard and painful. He shows his determination.

    • @hyperform

      This is called Sheshen. There are many different versions varying on the regions. Generally Circassians use very fast versions in the weddings similar to Lezginka but Nalmes play it in a different pace to tune it with their choreography which is slower than popular versions. And actually Nalmes' interpretation is the closest one to how Circassians used to perform this dance originally.
      This is the usual pace played in the weddings

      @@duncanheyward848 Is there a special meaning to them dancing only on the balls of their feet? I saw the Nalmes dance company live in New Jersey years ago. In one of the fast dances with long gowns, it looks like they're just floating along the ground.

    • @hyperform
      @hyperform  3 года назад +7

      @@Astraea52 Origins of these type of figures are going back to the animalism rituals ages ago. They did then probably mimic some wild animals around them like eagles, swans etc. and these rituals formed pagan ceremonies later on. As time passed they had become a vital part of the culture losing their original meanings and they have entirely different purposes today. Beside that it looks more elegant and aesthetic and needs some talent and hard work to perform.

    По словам старейшин красную черкеску одевали адыгские смертники ( тылей) если это так , то использование для танца красной черкески неприемленно. (ИМХО)

    • @СергейШтурко-б4и
      @СергейШтурко-б4и Год назад

      Если не ошибаюсь зелёную черкеску использовали смертники, а красная как раз таки на свадьбах была

    • @Pshtyr
      @Pshtyr Год назад +1

      Это верно, но красный цвет в данном случае как показатель дворянтсва если что)

    • @kbaadedesign2097
      @kbaadedesign2097 Год назад +2

      Красный цвет могли одевать только Пщи
      Жёлтый только Оркъ
      История про смертников это романтическая выдумка, Черкес оприори постоянно был в состоянии смертника из за образа жизни, в лучшем случаи 20-25% мужчин доживали до 60-70 лет.
      Розового единорога увидеть было легче чем седого князя или оркъа))

      Excuse me, I want to ask you one thing that I see very characteristic.
      Can you explain to me what you mean by those men's arrogant and elegant high-lifted chins?

    • @hyperform
      @hyperform  3 года назад +1

      @@서원파-v3w These figures are coming from mimicking some wild animal millennials ago I believe. The figures much later on formed some pagan rituals and then transformed into the dances as we know today. Performers represent their clans so they have to be graceful and serious as much as possible I guess. Actually these figures are not that elegant. There are more elegant dances on the other Circassian tribes to the east where aristocracy is highly developed inside the society and it effected their dancing style much more than the the Western tribes as you can see one example at the following link.
