  • Within God's word there is life that can speak to your soul and transform you.
In the parable of the four soils, Jesus relates how many people can hear the same message but respond differently. And as Pastor Lutzer explains the parable and the meaning of the four different soils, we'll not only be challenged to witness to others, we will be personally confronted to ask ourselves: have I really been converted?
Being a "good Christian" is not about performing certain actions. It is about growing in love for Christ and allowing His Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and lives. Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), the recipe-writer and taste-tester for our lives. As we seek to know God and glorify Him, we also get to enjoy Him (Psalm 73:25-26). The good Christian knows God, enjoys God, and grows in grace.

That's the Pastors job , depends on how they sow the word of God huh ? Just ask Hillsong Church & the ARC churches who preached a false gospel & folded like wimpy wussies during Covid & shut down ! The Integrity of the church & pastors matter tremendously

Pastor Lutzer is wrong.3 of the 4 soils are believers. Its amazing to me how lutzer makes saving faith more difficult than Jesus himself did.Jesus said only to believe in order to be saved.Bearing fruit is not the test of saving faith. The only test is what a person believes about who Christ is.Some Christians bear no fruit and live like the world yet they are still saved.I guess Lutzer isn't familiar with the church at Corinth. These people were extremely carnal doing things even unbelievers wouldn't do yetPaul clearly addressed them as believers. The bible never makes a distinction between head and heart belief.Nor is the term germinate ever used in reference to salvation.

You may want to remind yourself with James 2: 14-26 in relation to this sermon and your response. James Magnifico

1Cor 15:34: "Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame."
How do you think, this people of Corinthian church was saved or didn't?

One can only be saved if he lead a life thats according to the principles of God
U cant say u be saved bcoz u know and accepted Jesus and yet u do the wordly things.
You cant have one foot with the world n the other foot with the Lord.
God is a jealous God. So its either u be with the Lord or be with the world. You cant have both.
So as the prophet Elijah had told the people at the contest in mount carmel,
" if the Lord is God, serve Him. If baal is God serve Him"
And Joshua said the same thing, " choose u this day whom u will serve..."
Meaning u cant be with the world n say u be saved just bcoz u accepted Jesus.
Its like believing in the "once saved always saved " doctrine which is false.

I think what you don't understand is the word believer / faith and what it is and does.
As the word states, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
The mouth confesses because the head believes understands and applies by the Grace or Divine empowering life. Romans 8: But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also give Divine life to your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Belief or faith is, conviction, persuasion, and confidence in what God says are true.
The heart believes Jesus is Lord / Master and the source of life.
Therefore a life of obedience to the truth/commands of God
He is the Vine we are branches and bears the fruit of that Vine. God is the Vinedresser and tends to the Vine so the branch produces fruit.
      Jesus said;
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
The branch that bears no fruit of the life and character of God is cut off and cast into the fire and burned up.
So your understanding is very flawed about what it means to believe. It's not a head knowledge but a heart experience. Because what's in the heart proceeds out of the mouth.
Jesus also said: unless you're willing to take up your cross and follow Me you cannot be my Disciple.
That is another way of saying what Lutzer was saying about the soils.

As to the Corinthians, Paul called them carnal. The Greek word is sarkikos, It means unregenerate or fleshy. Not believers. He even said I speak to you as I regenerate.
