Despite the movie not being perfect, the soundtrack where Godzilla Earth first appears at the end is amazing. It has a really creepy feeling to it, like something out of your worse nightmares.

City on the edge of battle I think is the worse of the trilogy and The Planet Eater starts out good but goes downhill when Ghidorah and Godzilla meet. Planet of the monsters I think has alot of good moments despite the problems it also has but I will admit that as a whole, the trilogy didn't live up to expectations.

But thats just me, and not everyone likes that incarnation. For another example, some people like Godzilla (1998) because thats the one they grew up with.

Well there are other monsters but they are offsprings of Godzilla Earth, they can be considered Kaiju. But there is a prequel book for Monster Planet that has quite a big number of OG Kaiju's.

I don't understand why so many people hated the films. I think they were either just pissed they didn't get a simple formula monster vs monster situation or didn't understand the deeper messages the movies conveyed (which were hauntingly realistic).
They were ok, but most of the concepts played in those movies were awfully executed. Specially when it comes to storytelling. Singular Point got that wrong too.
